(hed)p.e. Premiere “First Blood” Music Video

(hed)p.e. have premiered a new video for their song “First Blood.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Class Of 2020.“ Jared Gomes commented:

“Well when I first saw the footage, it honestly scared me. I am not activated at this point in my life. I’m just living in Idaho, in my own world, enjoying my family. But when I found out the director shot all the footage himself, I was captivated. It took on a more personal tone. Now I look at this as a piece of history. Neither the director nor myself wanted the video to be divisive. He set the stage. He documented what was going on around him and the viewer can make his own judgments. I’m honored and stoked to be immortalized in this way.”

Former (hed)p.e. guitarist Chad “Chizad” Benekos has commemorated the 20th anniversary of “Broke” by releasing a documentary focusing on the album’s touring cycle. That film is titled “Touring For Broke: A (hed)p.e. Film” and it can be seen below. The following was said about the documentary:

“This is the official director’s cut of the documentary celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Broke album and tour by the band (hed)p.e. The film was conceived, shot and edited by original (hed)p.e. guitarist Chad “Chizad” Benekos and follows the band on tour all around the world featuring never before seen footage of the group on stage and off. Also includes new music videos and never before heard demos from the Broke album. 20 years in the making and worth the wait for any fan.”

(hed)p.e. Premiere New Song “Death Awaits”

(hed)p.e. have premiered a lyric video for their new song “Death Awaits.” This track is from the band’s new album “Class Of 2020,” which will be released on August 21. Frontman Jahred Gomes commented:

“The Great Equalizer. Here is a situation where I thought I was being original, only to find out Shakespeare himself had used the words Death Awaits and so have other writers of note. Christian, Atheist and Buddhist alike share the same fate. My YouTube yogi Sadhguru said we’d all be better off if we contemplated our death once a day. More and more, people are less concerned with the afterlife and trying to create heaven on earth, which as it should be.”

(hed)p.e. Premiere New Song “First Blood”

(hed)p.e. have premiered a new song titled “First Blood.” This track is from their new album “Class Of 2020,” which will be released on August 21. Jared Gomes commented:

“I wanted it to sound like the best garage band ever. Like you went to your friend’s band practice and were totally blown away. This track kicks off the record, and I can’t wait to open the show with it at a club near you. It will fuckin shred. One guitar, one bass, one riddim, one mic. Definitely some ’70s punk rock influence. The Clash and Minor Threat were on my mind a lot. The pendulum swung and whereas the last album was futuristic; this one is bare bones. These tracks will translate in the club. Straight up non-apologetic ‘Merican rock ‘n’ roll.”

02. “Watch It Burn”

05. “Last Call”
06. “Ole Time Sake”
07. “Greedy Girl”

09. “We The People”
10. “Overdue“

Jared Gomes commented:

“We were on the road in the middle of a tour when the COVID-19 pandemic hit full force. Like everyone else on the planet, we were faced with some unprecedented challenges.

As a small business owner of an independent band, I was faced with an additional set of challenges with the tour being canceled and making it back home from Rhode Island to Idaho.

When I got home, I immediately got inspired creatively and hit the studio to smash out this record. For this one, we took it all back to our roots with a back-to-basics approach to try and capture that true G-Punk sound of our earlier albums.”

He also added:

“I had the title ‘Class of 2020‘ as a working title for some time now. We had made hoodies with the Class of 2020 on them, but it was originally intended to be a statement about the band being here 20 years later.

A whole new class of (hed)p.e., so to speak. Once the pandemic broke out, this title took on a new profound meaning. The Class of 2020 never really graduated. The Class of 2020 will go down in history for several different reasons.”

“Next record: drums, bass, guitar, vocals (turned off the autotune btw).

I mean, i had no idea some of yall would hate so much, but your comments made it back to me, and so on this one we took it back to that thrashy, punky vibe. A definite gpunk feel to this next one. Its finished and about to be mastered. I fucking love it. I trust you will as well.

I cant say this will be the last hedpe record, but it will be the last one for a while. I’ll explain later…anyway, here is the track listing.
