Firstborne (ex-Lamb Of God/Megadeth, etc.) have premiered a lyric video for their new single “Cut The Strings.“ Vocalist Girish Pradhan commented:

“Every time there’s a force that challenges the most fundamental right of a human being — freedom — music has always served as the voice of the common person. The special existence of humans in the world has music right in the heart of it.”

Amorphis To Release “Brother And Sister” Vinyl Single

Amorphis will be releasing a new vinyl single titled “Brother And Sister” on December 18. The effort, which can be pre-ordered HERE, will be limited to 666 copies and it will come with the title track and another song titled “As Mountains Crumble.“ Both of those tracks were previously available on the digipak edition of the band’s latest album “Queen Of Time.“ New limited edition vinyl pressings of that record will also be released on October 23. Keyboardist Santeri Kallio commented:

“Two great songs from ‘Queen Of Time‘ sessions in vinyl which is great. Atmospherical ‘Brother and Sister‘ and majestic prog-driven ‘As Mountains Crumble‘ were also good candidates for the ‘Queen of Time‘ album final track list, but in the final run ended up as an album bonus tracks to give a special edge for different releases. With this release it is great to see these songs get more attention they deserve.”

Breakdown Of Sanity Return With New Song “Traces”

Breakdown Of Sanity have officially returned with a new song titled “Traces.” You can stream that track below:

The band commented:

“Hello World! Today’s a big day for us – we’re stoked to announce our brand new song ‘Traces‘ which is digitally available everywhere as from now! We’re sure that some of you have questions as we have stopped our activities as a live band in 2017, so let us shed some light into the dark:

At that time we decided not to play concerts anymore and not to record another album. It was simply time for a (creative) break of uncertain duration, and with the increasing responsibilities that life brings, we all needed more time for our personal plans (family, job…). However, we have never considered this pause as the definitive end of our musical work. We were all still open for musical projects, be it with BoS or in any other form.

And as time passed by, new ideas and a new passion for our music emerged. So we started recording again. Just some demo tracks, just for fun – until we realized that we still had something to say and that we could not just stop. And the fact that we were no longer under any deadline pressure, that nobody was expecting anything, and that without concerts we could invest much more time in music without neglecting our private lives, made us realize that there is a way to reconcile all our passions.

This is also the reason why we decided not to record a whole album but a single. And the best thing is: More will follow! In the future we will record more new ideas and release them as singles as soon as they are ready. This way our fans always get something new to hear from us instead of having to wait 3 years for a new album or EP.

At this time we don’t plan to play any shows though, due to the reasons mentioned above. We hope you like ‘Traces‘ and we’re more than happy to be somehow back in the game. Stay tuned for more!”

The Night Flight Orchestra (Soilwork, Arch Enemy, Etc.) Premiere “Impossible” Music Video, Stream Cover Of Cheap Trick’s “Reach Out”

The Night Flight Orchestra (Soilwork, Arch Enemy, etc.) have premiered a new video for their new song “Impossible.” You can check that out below. The single also features a cover of Cheap Trick’s “Reach Out” on the b-side. You can stream that below as well.

The Night Flight Orchestra commented:

“Some bands might get depressed when the summer ends and the darkness is coming closer. But not The Night Flight Orchestra. Instead, they choose to celebrate the summers that were, the summers that might never come again, but will always be with you, like a tiny sprinkle of Champagne to thaw your frost-bitten heart.

‘Impossible‘ is a song for all the hopeless romantics who are hanging on by a thread to the memories of their vivid summer escapades, hoping that it will help them survive the approaching winter

We thank Bonnie Jean for some amazing dancing on the beaches of California. Sebastian Forslund put several impressions together and created a wonderful video out of it.

The ”B-side” is a cover of ‘Reach Out‘ by Cheap Trick, and everything except the lead vocals and drums were recorded on tour, on tour buses and backstage rooms throughout Europe, before we had to head home because the the borders were starting to close down.

But this is our love letter to you, from The Night Flight Orchestra, hoping that you’ll be with us through the rough winter months coming up.”

Hyro The Hero has premiered a new single titled “We Believe.” This track features Disturbed’s David Draiman and an official video for it can be found below:

Hyro said the following about the song:

“It’s actually about hope. We all have decisions to make. Everybody pulls you one way or the other. You have to pick the lesser of two evils in all situations. Personally, I’m trying to find a way. I can’t believe I’m rapping on a song with David, but I really can’t believe I’m singing a song with him. It’s a special moment, because I tried something new with my voice.”

Draiman added:

“I’m incredibly honored. Hyro is a truly amazing artist and I had a blast working with him. This track is exactly what the world needs right now. It’s time to believe again.”

Volumes Premiere “Weighted” Video

Volumes have premiered a new video for their new single “Weighted.” You can check that out below:

Michael Barr commented:

“This song is about self-doubt and the shortcomings that come with any type of success. It’s about the ups and the downs in life and the interpersonal and irrational conversation you have about convincing yourself into doing things.”

Raad Soudani added:

“It’s definitely a fun song. It’s a blend of heavy instrumentation with vibrant production with chunky guitar groove on the verse, with a playful vocal melody on top. It’s also got an in-your-face, aggressive catchy hook and a bit of a carefree, middle finger attitude to it.”
