Tesla Planning To Release New Single “Time To Rock” In July

During a recent interview with Sonic Perspectives, Tesla’s Frank Hannon revealed that the band are planning to release a new single, titled “Time To Rock,” in July. According to him, the track is “frickin’ rocking.”

Hannon said the following when asked if the band will be working with producer Phil Collen (Def Leppard) once again:

“The ‘Shock’ album that Phil did, they worked really hard on that. When I say ‘they,’ I’m talking about Phil Collen and Brian Wheat, our bass player. Man, they really worked hard on the album. It was a collaboration. Phil wrote most of the songs. And some people thought it was a great album and other people didn’t like it. But we gave it a shot. But from now on… Brian and I had a discussion… Brian and I are the founding members of the band TESLA, along with Jeff Keith. And we decided from now on, we’re gonna write and produce our own music. We worked with enough producers — we’ve had producers coming and going our whole career — so from now on, at our age, we’re gonna produce our own music. And we’re actually producing a brand new single that’s gonna come out next month, and it’s frickin’ rocking. I’m really excited about it.

The best thing about producing ourselves is it’s imperfect and it’s edgy and it’s got the warts and everything and it’s as real as it can be because it’s us. We’re not technicians where we know how to make things perfect.

‘Cold Blue Steel’, we produced it ourselves, and this new song — it’s called ‘Time To Rock’ — I’ve been producing it and working on it for about two months. And it’ll ultimately get put on a self-produced album.”

He continued when asked if Tesla are still planning to release a series of singles:

“Yeah, we’re gonna put out singles after singles and just focus on one song at a time, man, and rock that song.

What happens is when you’re young, man, you can write 10 songs and frickin’ put out an album every year, but as you get older, like we are now, it’s not as easy to do that. So you end up sacrificing quality for quantity, and we don’t wanna do that. Why put out 10 songs that are just in a rush when we can spend our time and just create singles that we’re real proud of. And this one next one, I’m telling you, Jeff Keith and I are really excited about it, ’cause he and I wrote it on the road last year and I got the band to put it together. I’ve been chipping away on it in the studio producing it, and I’m getting ready to produce a video for it this weekend. It’s called ‘Time To Rock’, and it does rock.”

They also added the following about the new single:

“It marks the transition between what we’ve been to what we will become. Poised in rage & frustration caused by “the powers that be”, this song welcomes you into our relentless and uncompromising future.”

“I am thrilled that we are releasing our next single ‘Sunset Over The Empire‘ not only digitally everywhere as usual, but also as a physical 7″ vinyl record. I’m a big fan of the vinyl format myself and I think this killer looking 7″ will be a nice collector’s item as it’s a limited run. The B-side is an instrumental we’ve never released before on a record, and the A-side is one of my fave tracks off our new upcoming album ‘Deceivers‘!”

TesseracT Release Two-Track Single “Regrowth” To Raise Money For Ukraine

TesseracT have released a new two-track single, titled “Regrowth,” in an effort to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee to benefit Ukraine. The effort, which features “Hollow” and “Rebirth,“ can be purchased HERE.

The band commented:

“‘Once the doom is dead and gone there will be a regrowth. Hollow. But, reborn.’

These songs have been in the TesseracT domain for a while. We had developed them for album 5, but they just weren’t the right fit for where that album has headed. Rather than have them slowly decay on a server somewhere, we felt they could do something good, no matter how small?

Many organisations are doing good at the moment. Médecin Sans Frontières, Amnesty International, and World United. We chose to help The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) in their drive to aid those in Ukraine affected by the invasion by Russia, and warzones around the world.

Our last headline tour visited Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv. We have travelled the roads currently under attack, but cannot begin to imagine the change they have undergone.”

Powerwolf Premiere New Song “Sainted By The Storm”

Powerwolf have premiered a new song titled “Sainted By The Storm.” The single is available digitally and on CD along with orchestral and instrumental versions of the track. The band commented:

“We would like to thank you all for your fantastic support with the release of a brand new song! It’s been less than a year since we released our new album, ‘Call Of The Wild’, and it’s rather unusual for us to follow up so soon, but we miss you all and were overwhelmed by your comments and feedback not only on the last album but also on our streaming event ‘The Monumental Mass’, despite the lack of live shows and the opportunity to see each other again and celebrate a furious metal mass together! Enjoy ‘Sainted By The Storm’. This one is for you, wolves!”

Floor Jansen (Nightwish) Planning To Release New Pop Single In March

Floor Jansen (Nightwish) is planning to release a new pop single on March 25. The singer confirmed the news during a recent livestream.

Jansen said the following:

“As you know, I’ve been writing music; I’ve been telling you about this for months and months. Thus far, I’ve only been saying, ‘A new song will come. A new song will come.’

And so I’ve been writing. There’s a lot of songs ready, and now there’s actually one song ready to be released. And so the thing I can tell you today is that the first song will come on the 25th of March. So now we can finally count down to a moment where something all new will come.”

It’s a pop song, so it’s not metal, it’s not rock, but it’s definitely me.”

She also discussed the rest of her new solo material:

“I guess it’s more of a mash-up [of styles] actually, though it’s not so extreme as in genres, like all of a sudden it becomes… Here’s a metal song and here’s a rock song and this is more poppy… I mean, pop music — the word of it — [it’s short for] popular music, and it kind of describes a lot, and within that it falls. I can only say that it’s not metal and it’s not rock, but it will have its influences and it will have a part of the sound.

It can’t even be so that the first song is how everything else will sound like because, yeah, if you know NIGHTWISH and also for us, it’s always so hard to pick just one song that’s gonna be like the kick-off of an album but it can never really represent everything. And I guess it’s the same for this first song that comes on the 25th of March.”
