During a recent interview with Rock 96.7’s Wes Styles, Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho revealed that the band are currently finishing up a new single. According to him, the track will be released “in a month or two — or probably a little bit longer.”
Jericho said the following when asked about new music:
“We released ‘Boombox’ back, almost a year ago now. And it’s kind of a bad thing about a record, is you put all this time and all this heart and soul into 12 songs. Three of ’em are singles; all of ’em went Top 10. Three more of them we play live; they all go over great. And six of them just kind of disappear into the FOZZY song graveyard. And that bothers me because there’s great songs there. So I think what we’re gonna do for a while is just release singles. I think that’s the business model we wanna do, ’cause I don’t want these great songs like ‘Omen’ or ‘The Worst Is Yet To Come’, ‘Army Of One’ — all of these great tunes that if you have ‘Boombox’, people go nuts for them, and they’ll never be played.
I think we’re gonna release another single probably in a month or two — or probably a little bit longer, ’cause we’re still kind of [putting] the finishing touches on it. But it’s awesome. And we’re excited to do that — release a song every few months rather than two years in between a record that comes and goes very quickly.”
This one was the first song that we managed to get finished on the album, Matt actually recorded the vocals for this one on his Twitch channel! It was so fun watching the process!

“Sophie Lloyd is an immensely talented force of a musician and songwriter. I recall first seeing Sophie’s guitar playing online and being truly blown away – so having been a fan of Sophie’s for several years, I was honored when asked to guest on an upcoming track.
When I learned too that Trivium had been a longtime favorite band of Sophie’s – I was humbled and appreciative.
With Sophie now fronting both the solo project and being lead guitarist for MGK – there’s no question Sophie Lloyd is taking over.
Kill Devil Hill (Type O Negative, etc.) have signed a new deal with Legend Recordings. The band’s new single, “Blood In The Water,” will be released through the label on March 24.
Guitarist Mark Zavon commented:
“We are beyond excited to release our first single, ‘Blood In The Water’, from our upcoming album. It’s been a while since our last release, but we’ve been working hard writing and recording songs for this third record for a long time behind the scenes, and are really looking forward to sharing the finished product with our fans.
We are proud to have partnered with Chris Bianchi and Legend Recordings for this release and are looking forward to working with them and Ingrooves to bring these songs to our fans worldwide.
It’s definitely some of our strongest material, and I can’t wait to get out in front of an audience and play it live.”
Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has revealed that he co-wrote and produced Demi Lovato’s new single “Still Alive.” That track will be released on March 3 and it will also appear on the soundtrack for “Scream VI.” That film will officially hit theaters on March 10.

Apocalyptica have joined forces with Epica’s Simone Simons for a new single titled “Rise Again.” You can find an official video for that track below. The band commented:
“It was so great to make ‘Rise Again’ with Simone Simons! When we were putting the ‘Epic Apocalypse’ tour together, we were thinking of making this collaboration with Epica even deeper by releasing a song together. ‘Rise’ from our ‘Cell-0’ album had the beauty and feel which we felt could fit perfectly for Simone’s unique voice. We are so happy about the song and really excited about this tour with Epica as it will be something really special and amazing!”
Sick Puppies have joined forces with ESPN/ESPN+ to help launch the NHL season with their cover of Paul Oakenfold’s “Ready Steady Go.” The track will be featured in promos on various platforms until the end of the year.
Kevin Wilson, creative music director for ESPN, commented:
“‘Ready Steady Go’ is a classic hype track and having the Sick Puppies do their own heavy take on it fits so great to amp up the start of the NHL season.”
Sick Puppies continued:
“For those who haven’t heard Paul Oakenfold’s song ‘Ready Steady Go’, it’s a classic tune. When the opportunity came to be able to put our spin on it, it was a no-brainer. The NHL screams fast, aggressive and punchy rock, so we took that energy and recorded it with that attitude. ESPN brings the rock! We are in good company with their exceptional music team and can’t wait to watch this hockey season unfold”.
“Check out my song ‘Ready Steady Go’ that is going to be used for the start of the NHL season on ESPN and will run for the rest of the year. My friends Sick Puppies did a kickass rock version of it! Good luck to all the teams this season. Also BIG thanks to everyone at ESPN for pushing it out there.”
