  • Elder Postpone Their Remaining Fall Shows

Elder have postponed their remaining shows for this fall. This news comes after bassist Jack Donovan was recently hospitalized with pneumonia.

    The group commented:

“IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING OUR REMAINING TOUR DATES

With a heavy heart, we’re forced to postpone our remaining shows on this tour with Blackwater Holylight.

Jack’s struggle with a serious case of pneumonia is ongoing and he remains hospitalized in Portland. Although he’s getting the care he needs, his treatment is likely to continue for a number of days to weeks. As long as the situation remains critical, the thought of performing without him in any capacity is impossible.

We hate to disappoint and know that you’ve been looking forward to these shows as much as we have, but we’re also lucky to have the coolest fans in the world who doubtless understand the gravity of the situation. We promise we’ll come back stronger and make it up to you.

All ticketholders will be notified of rescheduled shows moving forward. This might take a bit so we appreciate your patience. If you prefer a refund, they can be issued by the point of sale.

Thank you to our friends, family and fans for your positive thoughts and to BWHL for being awesome and supporting Jack and us through this chaotic situation.”

  • The Acacia Strain’s Devin Shidaker Launches Doom Metal Project Spirit Wound

The Acacia Strain’s Devin Shidaker has launched a new doom metal project called Spirit Wound. His first single, “The Light Refuses Me,” can be found below. Shidaker said the following about the single:

“Continuing my commitment to writing and releasing music whenever I feel like it, this is Spirit Wound. This has been a year filled with tremendous personal loss and tragedy, and this first song, ‘The Light Refuse Me,’ is grief coming through my stream of consciousness into song. Written in an afternoon this past summer, it’s doom, but it’s something different for me. The song is live on Bandcamp now, with the link in my bio. If you’ve got 10 minutes to spare, give it a listen. Live on the other platforms next week.”

  • Colepitz Premiere New Song “Washed In Red”

Colepitz have premiered a new song titled “Washed In Red.” You can check that out below. The track is from the band’s new album, “The Time Between,” which will be released on October 23. Vocalist Rob Korhonen said the following about the single:

“‘Washed In Red’s origin story is Boston in the early 2000’s. Mark Marenick and I co-wrote it and felt it never got its due. Ray and Shane took it apart and put it back together, heavier and meaner. It’s a straightforward horror song: a saw, the boiler room at 2 a.m. Every line darkly cuts two ways. The end of the world doesn’t always come for everyone at once. Sometimes it’s one house with the lights off.”
