Previously Unreleased Van Halen Demo To Be Included With Alex Van Halen’s Limited Edition Book
A previously unreleased Van Halen demo, titled “Glitter,” is set to be released on seven-inch vinyl. The pressing will be included with Alex Van Halen’s limited edition Van Halen book. That effort can be pre-ordered HERE. Books will ship in November.

“Genesis Publications is delighted to reveal that the exclusive 7″ vinyl record accompanying Alex Van Halen’s official signed limited edition, VAN HALEN, will feature ‘Glitter’, a previously unreleased demo recorded in 1974. Created exclusively for the VAN HALEN signed limited edition, the 7″ picture disc features artwork based on the band’s iconic 1984 tour design.
Featuring Alex Van Halen and Eddie Van Halen alongside David Lee Roth and original bassist Mark Stone, ‘Glitter’ captures Van Halen at the very beginning of their story. Released here for the first time, it will mark the earliest Van Halen recording ever to be officially released. The record will also feature a specially selected spoken-word recording from Alex Van Halen, drawn from the extensive new interviews conducted with Genesis for the book.
Written, curated and personally signed by Alex Van Halen, VAN HALEN is the official chronicle of the band, published by Genesis in a strictly limited edition of 1,500 signed and numbered copies worldwide.
Drawing on Alex Van Halen’s private archives, opened for the first time for this project, the book traces the brothers’ extraordinary journey from their childhood and arrival in California from Holland, through backyard parties in Pasadena and the band’s formative years on the Sunset Strip, to their landmark 1978 debut album and the release and world tour of the chart-topping 1984.
Across 312 pages, VAN HALEN brings together a dynamic collection of iconic photography, rare and previously unseen images, correspondence, tour memorabilia, album artwork, press material, musical equipment and other archival material, offering a personally guided tour through the band’s legendary rise. Photography spans the band’s earliest years through their first tours of Japan in 1978 and landmark performances including the US Festival in 1983 and 1984’s Monsters of Rock.
At the heart of the book is an original manuscript from Alex Van Halen, drawn from a series of extensive new interviews conducted especially for the project, his most sustained and detailed reflection on the band’s formative years. Alex’s account is joined by archival texts from Eddie Van Halen and contributions from fellow musicians, friends and artists inspired by the band.
The VAN HALEN signed limited edition comprises just 1,500 numbered copies worldwide, with every copy personally signed by Alex Van Halen. With the Deluxe copies now fully subscribed, copies 351 to 1,500 are presented as Collector boxed sets.
Each Collector copy is quarter-bound in black vegan leather with silver page edging and features a silver-debossed Van Halen logo drawn from the band’s 1978 World Tour. The book is housed in a black clamshell box featuring the Van Halen emblem surrounded by Alex Van Halen’s iconic burning-ring design.
Alongside the signed book, each Collector boxed set contains a specially curated collection of replicas and keepsakes drawn from the Van Halen archive: a 1979 Van Halen Productions keychain, three Eddie Van Halen guitar picks faithfully reproduced from his stage-used designs, six 6″ × 4″ art postcards and the exclusive 7″ picture disc, now revealed to feature the previously unreleased 1974 recording, “Glitter”.
Available only with Alex Van Halen’s signed limited edition, the record offers an extraordinary audio counterpart to the photographs, memories and archival material within the book: a chance to not only read the story of Van Halen’s beginnings, but to hear the band at the moment that story was taking shape.”

Motörhead Exhibit To Open At The Punk Rock Museum
The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas, NV have announced a new Motörhead exhibit. Fans will be able to check out the display on October 2.

“A new exhibition dedicated to Motörhead and Lemmy will open Friday, October 2nd, 2026, at The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Motörhead were a legendary force in rock and heavy metal, led by the unmistakable presence of Lemmy Kilmister. With their uncompromising sound, attitude and relentless approach, Motörhead built a devoted following across generations and around the world.
While the band helped define the sound of heavy metal, their roots ran just as deep into punk rock. Lemmy was a part of the British punk scene from its earliest days, including a stint playing bass with The Damned. Motörhead’s speed, volume and intensity would go on to influence generations of punk bands, including Pennywise, Rancid and Lagwagon, among countless others.
At the center of Motörhead’s sound was Lemmy’s Rickenbacker bass, driven through towering Marshall stacks. The combination produced the immense volume and unmistakable intensity that became synonymous with the band. For generations of fans, Motörhead weren’t simply a band you heard—they were a band you felt.
The new exhibition will feature personal items from Lemmy’s collection, including photographs and handwritten lyrics, offering visitors a closer look at the man behind the music.
One of the exhibition’s most unique features will give museum guests the opportunity to actually play Lemmy’s bass through the very stack he used.
Rather than simply viewing the equipment behind glass, visitors will be able to plug in, pick up the bass and experience the gear that helped create Motörhead’s unmistakable sound. It is a rare opportunity to interact directly with an important part of the band’s history.
Motörhead albums will also be available through Vinyl Threat, The Punk Rock Museum’s record store, while exclusive Motörhead merchandise will be available in the museum’s gift shop.
To mark the opening, Three Star Punk Bar will host a special evening featuring Brian Slagel of Metal Blade Records behind the decks as DJ. Guests will be invited to raise a glass to Lemmy while celebrating the music and legacy of Motörhead.”

As I Lay Dying Finish New Album
As I Lay Dying have officially finished their new album. Two tracks from the sessions, “Polarized” and “Retribution,” will be released on September 15.
Frontman Tim Lambesis commented:
“So we finally finished recording the new As I Lay Dying album, and we did 12 songs with the intention of keeping 10. We’ve had a lot of conversations amongst us trying to figure out what those 10 songs are, and we figured we should bring you guys in on the conversation.
So, we’re gonna show you little clips of two songs coming up called ‘Polarized’ and ‘Retribution.’ Over the next week, we’ll sort of introduce these songs, and then on September 15th, we’ll have both those songs come out fully, and we’ll open up some voting for you guys to tell us, do these polarizing two different ends of the album both belong on the As I Lay Dying album?
‘Polarized’ is quite a bit more melodic, mid-tempo, a little bit more singing, but still very heavy and driving. And then ‘Retribution’ is just fast, dark and heavy, no singing at all whatsoever. So those are the two ends of the spectrum. We figured we’d start there, see what you guys thought, and most of the rest of the record lives somewhere in between. But we wanna bring you guys in to just give us your feedback so we can make these final decisions together.”
