  • Soen Premiere New Song “Mercenary”

Soen have premiered a new song titled “Mercenary.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Reliance,” which will be released on January 16. The group commented:

“‘Mercenary’ is about the violence we inherit, which then sees hatred seeping into lives and life which in turn shapes generations. It also addresses betrayal, about how that can see us ‘crowning vultures into kings’. At its heart, ‘Mercenary’ speaks to the cost of belief. Musically, it carries the essence of SOEN – heavy yet melodic and built on power and precision.”

  • Former Dogma Guitarist Amber Maldonado Accuses Management Of “Disclosing Personal Information Of Individual Band Members”

As previously reported, former Dogma members Grace Jane Pasturini (Lilith), Amber Maldonado (Lamia), and Patri Grief (Rusalka) recently made headlines after accusing their management of “manipulation, mistreatment, and lies to the fans.” This led other musicians to come forward with their own allegations as well. Now, Maldonado has issued a new statement, saying “management has also been disclosing personal information of individual band members.”

    Maldonado said the following:

    “We’re not done yet.

First, we’d like to thank you for the support you have shown us over this chaotic week. Each one of your comments and messages has given us the motivation to keep pushing for justice.

Management has been messaging fan club leaders and private fans in order to intimidate them to take his side. Fan pages should be organic and naturally occurring, not another entity controlled by management. We are calling for an end to this harassment; no one deserves to be bullied or intimidated.

Management has also been disclosing personal information of individual band members, including highly sensitive and protected information (sexuality, political stances, marriage status, pregnancies, etc.) under paragraph 9 European GDPR, to fans. Sharing this information without consent is illegal. If management discloses any of this information to you, please report it immediately. Furthermore, outstanding obligations have not been addressed.

Consequently, we are reminded of one of Dogma’s 13 principles: Be a person of integrity. We call for management to do just that.

It has been stated by management that Grace, Patri, and I are not friends. We would like to clear up any misconceptions. We are friends. We met through the project, and over the various rehearsals, tours, and music videos, we forged a deep friendship. Yes, while on the road together, we’ve had good and bad experiences as any other band, but that does not shake the foundation of trust on which our friendship is built.

Lastly, we’re not finished. Grace, Patri, and I do not want to give up on each other, or on you. We know the artistic chemistry, passion, and camaraderie we share is special. Therefore, we will continue to work together to bring you music that will make you proud.

No dream is too big to accomplish.”

  • Slayer’s Kerry King On His Next Solo Album: “I Would Love To Record Before New Year’s”

During a recent appearance on Reigning TV, Slayer’s Kerry King offered an update on his next solo album. The guitarist hopes “to record [the effort] before New Year’s.”

    King said the following:

“Well, it’s vague because there’s planning, there’s a record company’s perspective, but we have enough material for the next one already. I just started writing lyrics on it.

I sent ’em to [singer Mark Osegueda]. He got the first song the other day. So, as long as I can get off my ass and get some lyrics happening, I would love to record before New Year’s and then just give it to the record company and say, ‘Whenever you want, there it is.’

If it becomes January, February, that’s fine too, because I don’t think we’re gonna be doing any shows. But I wanna keep these guys working because you’ve gotta keep the train rolling…

    [Mark] likes the lyrics too.”

    Osegueda added:

“I do. The lyrics to the new song are vicious.”
