Soen Premiere “Deceiver” Video

Soen have premiered a new video for their song “Deceiver.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Imperial.”

Drummer Martin Lopez commented:

“‘Deceiver‘ is about battling whatever demons you have and carrying that constant worry on your shoulders, how it can wear you down and make whatever goals you achieve in your life pointless.”

Keyboardist/guitarist Lars Enok Åhlund continued:

“It’s about standing up against that negativity within you and trying to keep going even if that negative shadow follows you wherever you go.”

Daniele Zed Berretta, who produced the video, added:

“Time in the story goes backwards, to show us what happened before, and who the burnt man really is. Beneath it all, lies the concept of mankind repeating the same mistakes over and over again.”

Soen Premiere “Illusion” Music Video, Postpone European/UK Tour

If we stop criticizing each other and making enemies of ourselves by blindly following the ideas of politicians and their media.”

Soen Premiere “Covenant” Music Video

Soen have premiered a new video for their song “Covenant.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Lotus.”

Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth) said the following:

“Sometimes we choose to believe that we live in a well-adjusted society, but often than not, the truth differs. There are secrets everywhere, concealed carefully behind closed doors. Secrets that hide your despair and feed on your hopelessness, mistreated and misled by the people that are supposed to protect you.

‘Covenant‘ talks about one’s inner strength to fight back: it takes courage for one individual to take a stance, but it is necessary in order to survive. The true hero is not who’s called so by society’s standards, but the one that finds that inner strength and lead others by example.”

Only once you have liberated yourself from these fake ideals and leave all of that behind, one can be truly free.”

Soen (Ex-Opeth) To Release New Album “Lotus” In February

Soen (ex-Opeth) have announced that their new album “Lotus” will be released on February 1. The band recorded the effort at Ghostward Studios and Studio 6 with producers David Castillo and Iñaki Marconi. It will be their first to feature guitarist Cody Ford and pre-orders will launch on November 16.

Vocalist Joel Ekelöf commented:

“Ultimately, ‘Lotus‘ is about rising from whatever darkness, or dark places, you might find yourself. And its inspiration comes from a deep motivation to not just settle for the situation you might find yourself in.

‘Lotus‘ is about changing life — both your own and your surroundings for which we must all take responsibility — and make them better rather than letting darkness pacify you and take you down.”
