• Disfiguring The Goddess Premiere “Kiss The Dice” Video

Disfiguring The Goddess have premiered a new video for their new song “Kiss The Dice.” That track is from the band’s new album, “Bloom,” which will be released on July 31.

    Cameron “Big Chocolate” Argon commented:

“‘Kiss the Dice’ was actually the last song I wrote for the album, and it became a way to pull together a lot of the different directions and influences that shaped this record. Lyrically, it is about an all-nighter in Reno, Nevada, with a bit of Lady Luck woven into it.

On the surface, the song can feel confident and fun, but underneath that there is something sadder and more lost. It carries the feeling of knowing your truth while still being intoxicated by the sin-driven atmosphere of a city like Reno. Musically, it moves back and forth between gut-punching, pit-driven guitar sections and a simpler, more open chorus.

The drums stay bouncy and punchy throughout, and there is a subtle dance-oriented thread running through the song until the very end, where some of the buried melodic emotion finally comes to life through the synth arrangements.”

  • Jello Biafra’s Brief Live Return “Took A Lot Out Of Him”

As previously reported, former Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra recently made a return to the live stage during the Tentacle Fest in San Francisco, CA. The brief appearance was welcomed news amid health setbacks related to a hemorrhagic stroke. Despite this, it appears his recovery is still ongoing.

    Biafra’s partner Anne-Marie commented:

    “Hi,

Jello would like to let everyone know that even though he indeed got on stage for Tentacle Fest, he still has a ways to go in terms of his recovery. That evening took a lot out of him. It is pretty great that he has come as far as he has. Again, the outpouring of caring is very much appreciated.

    Anne-Marie”

Alternative Tentacles also issued a statement:

“A bit of clarification from Alternative Tentacles Records regarding Jello Biafra’s condition.

Like all of you, we were thrilled to see Jello back on stage at TentacleFEST. That said, it’s important to keep things in perspective. Jello was only on stage for less than 10 minutes, and by the end of the event he was visibly exhausted and pale. It took lot out of him to do even that much.

He’s continuing to work hard to regain his strength and balance, but that process is going to take time. As much as we’d all love to see him back on stage regularly, it’s simply too soon to expect that of him. Like all of you, we continue to support his recovery and understand it’s going to be a long road. We want him to take all the time he needs.”

  • Queensrÿche Singer Todd La Torre On Upcoming Album: “This Album Is Going To Be Based Around A Concept That Happens On The First Album”

During a recent interview with Metal-Rules.com, Queensrÿche singer Todd La Torre discussed the band’s next album. He says the effort will “be based around a concept that happens on the first album.”

La Torre said the following about the band’s progress:

“I have a ton of songs at home that the guys have worked on and written — a lot of really good demo stuff. I’ve already put vocals down on a couple of songs, but I have a lot of material staring me in the face, waiting for me to write lyrics and melodies. The problem is that we play so much. Even when we leave Europe, I go home for two days, then I’m out for four days in the States. Then I’m home for another two days, and after that I’m gone all through July. So I only get a little break in August when I can really try to work on stuff, because you need your ears to decompress. You also have things at home to take care of. But yeah, we’re writing a new record.”

He continued when asked if the album will “continue where ‘Digital Noise Alliance’ left off”:

“No. I’m not going to say what it is, but… I don’t know if you’d call it a concept album. That’s kind of the idea.”

He also confirmed that it won’t have anything to do with “Operation: Mindcrime”:

“This is going to touch on a subject that Queensrÿche hasn’t talked about since the very first record… There is, 100 percent, a connection [to the first Queensrÿche LP]. This album is going to be based around a concept that happens on the first album but is never talked about again in Queensrÿche’s history. So, it has nothing to do with ‘Operation: Mindcrime’. We don’t have any interest in that. This is a whole different thing. Musically, I’d say everything I’m hearing sounds much more old school — more like the EP, ‘Warning’ and ‘Rage For Order’, maybe with a little newer flavor — but it definitely sounds like classic Queensrÿche.”

He then further discussed his mindset:

“Writing a concept album where every song leads directly into the next one isn’t really what I’m interested in. It’s more like when you watch a movie. Sometimes the beginning starts where the ending is, and then they add pieces throughout the story in different parts of the movie until it all comes together. You could literally move one song over here, and another song over there, and it still works.”

La Torre discussed lyrical themes as well:

“The way I’m thinking about it, there’s no way you can tell everything in one album. So, it could be. I think if this were the last record the band ever wrote, there would still be storytelling there, and maybe that could be enough. But it would always be open to evolving further. It won’t be just a beginning, a middle, and an end. It’s a story that can go on and on.”

  • Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx Celebrates 25 Years Of Sobriety

Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx has taken to social media to celebrate 25 years of sobriety. He says “sobriety gave [him] a life [he] never imagined was possible.”

    Sixx said the following:

“Today marks 25 years of sobriety.

It’s hard to wrap a lifetime of lessons into a few paragraphs, but one thing has never changed: sobriety gave me a life I never imagined was possible.

It gave me my family. It taught me how to be present instead of just existing. It showed me what it means to be a husband, a father, a friend, and a bandmate—not perfectly, but honestly.

Somewhere along the way, I realized recovery wasn’t just about what I had to leave behind. It was about discovering everything that had been waiting for me on the other side.

It gave me a kick in the ass as a writer, a photographer, a songwriter, and a dreamer. Every book, every lyric, every photograph, every new creative idea has grown from a mind no longer clouded by chaos. When the noise finally quieted, creativity found a way to speak louder…

Life is still life. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. There is joy and heartbreak, loss and gratitude, victories and setbacks. I’ve learned that asking for help is an act of courage, that taking care of our mental health is as important as taking care of our bodies, and that healing isn’t a destination—it’s a daily practice.

If my story helps even one person believe there’s another way, then every scar has found a purpose.

Twenty-five years later, I don’t celebrate perfection. I celebrate progress. I celebrate love. I celebrate the people who walked beside me when I couldn’t walk alone.

And today, as always, I’m grateful for the greatest gift recovery has ever given me:

    Another 24 hours………”
