Entombed To Perform At 2022 Gefle Metal Festival

Entombed will be performing at the 2022 Gefle Metal Festival in Gävle, Sweden. That event will take place on July 14-16, with the band set to perform on the first day. It will feature “a totally unique concert with former Entombed members and other guest artists on stage.”

Entombed commented:

“It will be quite special. See you there!”

Gefle Metal Festival festival general manager Chris Rotenius continued:

“Next year, it will be six years since the last time Entombed was on a stage. Now we have managed to gather the core with Uffe [Cederlund], Alex [Hellid], Nicke [Andersson] and Jörgen [Sandström] to create the perfect opportunity to perform a concert beyond the ordinary. At Gefle Metal Festival next summer you can expect a unique Entombed gig. This is going to be a death metal evening you don’t want to miss.”

Notably, the show will be the band’s first since the death of their original singer LG Petrov. Gefle Metal Festival CEO Edward Janson added the following about that:

“LG was a central figure in Swedish metal who left a huge void behind. When we started Gefle Metal Festival 2016, Firespawn with LG was the very first band to play and at the last festival in 2019, he was on stage with his Entombed A.D. In between, he was in attendance as an enthusiastic fan. It feels good to be able to pay tribute to LG and his contributions to metal with this concert.”

Original Entombed Members Pay Tribute To The Late LG Petrov

Original Entombed members Alex Hellid, Uffe Cederlund, and Nicke Andersson have officially commented on the death of LG Petrov. As previously reported, the frontman recently passed away at the age of 49 following a battle with bile duct cancer.

Entombed said the following:

“All the years, all the toil, all the dreams, the struggle, the rewards, the humor, the laughter, and the tears. It’s been a long damn journey and the memories are many and fantastic. Everything we’ve experienced and laughed at together, the big and the small, from being teenage kids to almost growing up. Your now legendary and unique sayings, your ‘LGisms’, must surely one day find their way into the dictionary. How can you argue against ‘Pizza was invented in the late ’70s by Turkish people in Bredäng (Sweden)’!

Our thoughts go to your family, and your wider other family — your many friends all around the world. Through everyone you’ve touched, you live on. We will forever miss you, a member of our family, and we will always keep the good memories with us.

Rest in peace LG.”

LG Petrov (Entombed A.D.) Passes Away

LG Petrov (Entombed A.D., ex-Entombed) has sadly passed away at the age of 49. This news comes after he previously revealed that he was battling bile duct cancer last year.

Entombed A.D. issued the following statement:

“We are devastated to announce that our beloved friend Lars-Göran Petrov has left us.

Our brother, leader, vocalist, our Chief Rebel Angel went on another ride last night. It’s with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that Lars-Göran Petrov has left us. He was (is!!!) an incredible friend, and a person that has touched so many people. He has changed so many lives with his voice, his music, his character and his unique personality. LG’s smile is something that we will carry forever in our hearts. When asked in an interview what he would like to have written on his grave and what about his legacy, he said: “I will never die, it will never die”. And you didn’t. You will live forever in our hearts.

R.I.P. LG Petrov“
