Meshuggah commented:

“We regret to inform that Meshuggah will have to reschedule their U.S. headline tour, originally planned for early 2022, to September/October 2022.

While the ongoing pandemic has been throwing various curve balls on us all the past year, ultimately delaying the completion of the upcoming Meshuggah studio album – there are other concerns that have forced us to make this unfortunate decision. Determining factor is the need to prioritize the physical health of one of the band members who is currently undergoing medical treatment related to a skin condition on his hands, hindering him from rehearsals and from all in all playing his instrument.

While we are optimistic for his future recovery we know it will not be possible for him and the band to be ready to perform already in February 2022.

With these shows now moving, Converge will unfortunately no longer be able to do the tour. However we are grateful that Torche will still be performing with us. Another special guest to replace Converge and to complete the bill is to be announced.

Tickets will remain valid from the original dates, please contact your ticket provider with any queries.”

Converge Share “Coil” From “Bloodmoon: I” Album With Chelsea Wolfe & Stephen Brodsky (Cave In)

Converge have shared a new song, titled “Coil,” from their “Bloodmoon” project with Stephen Brodsky (Cave In), Chelsea Wolfe, and Wolfe’s guitarist Ben Chisholm. This track is from their new album, “Bloodmoon: I,” which will be released on November 19 (vinyl out June 24). Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon commented:

“‘Coil‘ turned out to be one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of. There is an infectious slow build that ends up becoming theatrical in tone. Lyrically it was a true collaboration, with all of us expanding on each other’s ideas as they came to be. I believe Chelsea’s vocal was the starting point in that for this one. Kurt really pushed vocal harmonies to a new level as well. Encouraging many of Steve’s ideas while we were in the studio tracking together. This one really has everyone of us firing on all cylinders creatively.”

The Model Featured On The Cover Of Converge’s “Jane Doe” Reveals Herself, Jacob Bannon Responds

The model featured on the cover of Converge‘s 2001 album “Jane Doe” has officially been revealed. The woman, whose name is Audrey Marnay, says the photo was taken from a shoot she did for an Italian issue of Marie Claire, which was released four months before the record.

Frontman Jacob Bannon commented:

“Just to be clear: This is definitely one of the sources for the original stencil/mixed media piece for the “Jane Doe” album. Most of my work always been collaged cut/paste based (and still is). Hundreds of images were xeroxed and repainted/inked in a loose style to create the release artwork. This process is similar to everyone from Shepard Fairey to Francis Bacon. Over time my work has evolved into something more much more refined, but the roots will always be in this style. I wonder if folks will still insist that it is actually from the cover of Slayer‘s ‘Reign In Blood‘?

The original goal was to create ghost-like forms that embodied the concept of ‘Jane Doe‘. In recreation identifiers are removed from physical forms, making all humans become relatable and stoic. We see what we want to see in them, and often times, it’s a reflection back onto our own life experiences, etc.”

Converge’s Jacob Bannon said the following:

“We wanted to do something grander than the typical four-piece Converge music.”

“Our dynamics are pushing and pulling in all different directions on this record, and I find that to be creatively rewarding.”

Brodsky also commented:

“I feel like everyone just kept the music in mind and wanted to do what’s best for the song.”

Wolfe added:

“The project stretched my vocals in new ways. It’s so different than what I normally sing over that I was able to open up and be vulnerable with my vocals.”
