David Vincent (Ex-Morbid Angel) To Release “I Am Morbid” Autobiography In February

David Vincent (ex-Morbid Angel, etc.) will be releasing his autobiography “I Am Morbid” on February 11 via Jawbone Press. Pre-orders are available via Amazon.

Here’s a description of the book:

“‘I Am Morbid” tells the astounding story of David Vincent, former bassist and singer with Morbid Angel, and now outlaw-country performer and leader of the I Am Morbid supergroup. Written with the bestselling author Joel McIver, it’s an autobiography that transcends the heavy metal category by its very nature. Much more than a mere memoir, I Am Morbid is an instruction manual for life at the sharp end—a gathering of wisdom distilled into ten acute lessons for anyone interested in furthering their fortunes in life.

Morbid Angel redefined the term pioneers. A band of heavy-metal-loving kids from all over America who broke through a host of music industry prejudices and went on to scale huge commercial heights, they introduced a whole new form of extreme music to the world. Formed in 1984, and breaking into the limelight in 1989 with their devastating first album, Altars Of Madness, the Florida death-metal legends became the first band of their genre to sign to a major label, from which point they came to dominate the worldwide metal scene for two decades and beyond.

David left Morbid Angel in 1996, and again, following a reunion, in 2015. For the first time, I Am Morbid explores the reasons behind his departure, and the transformation of his life, career, and music in the years since. This is a classic but never predictable tale of a man who has fought convention every step of the way—and won.”

VLTIMAS (Ex-Morbid Angel/Mayhem, Etc.) Sign With Season Of Mist

VLTIMAS, the band featuring David Vincent (ex-Morbid Angel), Rune “Blasphemer” Eriksen (ex-Mayhem), and Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy), have signed a new deal with Season Of Mist and are planning to release their debut album through the label early next year. The group recorded the effort with producer Jamie Gomez Arellano at Orgone Studio in Bedfordshire, England.

Eriksen commented:

“Feels like aeons ago since I last ventured into these musical shores, but here we are. Its been an intense year and a half with lots of planning, hard work, personal sacrifice and traveling. I believe I speak for all 3 of us on this matter. Nevertheless, the beast has been summoned and recorded and I am overly confident about the outcome.

Having had the opportunity to work with some of the finest of craftsmen in the genre, the level of experience speaks volumes. The mutual understanding, vision and drive, everything as if for a greater purpose. That’s how the end result sounds to me. A special thank you goes out to longtime partner in crime Michael Berberian and Season Of Mist for the immense belief in this entity, as well as my companion Jaime Gomez Arellano over at Orgone Studio (UK) for a job superbly done!

We are VLTIMAS.”

Headcat Play First Show With David Vincent (Ex-Morbid Angel)

Headcat (formerly The Head Cat), the bluesy rockabilly band that originally featured the late Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) along with Slim Jim Phantom (The Stray Cats) and Danny B. Harvey (Lonesome Spurs, The Rockats), have officially played their first show with new frontman David Vincent (Ex-Morbid Angel). That set took place June 21 at Come And Take It Live (Grizzly Hall) in Austin, TX.

David Vincent (Ex-Morbid Angel) Replaces Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) In Headcat

Headcat (formerly The Head Cat), the bluesy rockabilly band that featured Lemmy Kilmister along with Slim Jim Phantom (The Stray Cats) and Danny B. Harvey (Lonesome Spurs, The Rockats), have announced that they will be continuing on without the legendary Motörhead frontman who passed away in 2015. Taking his place will be David Vincent (Ex-Morbid Angel).

The band commented:

“Here’s the Headcat news you’ve all been waiting for:

After the success of the Headcat show last December in Berlin, the two surviving members of Headcat, Slim Jim Phantom and Danny B. Harvey, have decided to continue the band they started with Lemmy Kilmister over 17 years ago. They will be playing three shows next month in the USA and a handful of European shows in late summer that will be announced over the next few days.

In the meantime here’s the answer to the question we’re sure is on everyone’s mind: The Bass and most the vocal duties will be handled by former frontman and bassist from Morbid Angel, David Vincent. David’s powerful baritone voice and thunderous bass playing is very complimentary to both Danny B’s guitar style and Slim Jim’s drumming. Different than Lemmy but true to Headcat’s vision and direction. Rockabilly and Death Metal??? As Lemmy Kilmister, Danny B, Slim Jim and our fans have always tried to tell to you “It’s All Rock’n’roll” !

LONG LIVE ROCK’n’ROLL”

Cradle Of Filth, Huntress, & Ex-Morbid Angel Members To Voice Characters In “Realm Of The Damned”

Dani Filth (Cradle Of Filth), Jill Janus (Huntress), and David Vincent (ex-Morbid Angel) will all lend their voices to the upcoming “animated motion comic” adaptation of “Realm Of The Damned.” You can check out a trailer for the film below:

Here’s the film synopsis:

“There’s no one left to protect us from what lurks in the dark. No one is coming to save us. The monsters have won.

Our world now belongs to them. The Vatican’s last line of paranormal defence – The Congregation – has finally been overrun by the supernatural forces of darkness. Our heroes are all dead; only the damned remain.

Among them is Alberic Van Helsing – addict, murderer, survivor – and the creatures that were once his prey now hunt him across America. But when an apocalyptic evil is resurrected in the forests of Norway, it falls to Van Helsing to become the hunter once again if mankind and monster alike are to see the dawn.

Van Helsing’s quest for salvation and survival takes him through the ruins of a neogothic Europe, where he must face the vampire queen of the Vatican, a man-made monster with the heart of a storm, the lycanthropic lord of the forest, the mummified ruler of the slums of Cairo, and the crazed vampire demi-god who threatens to devour them all.

This is Realm of the Damned: Tenebris Deos, an animated motion comic of pure Black Metal horror that unleashes the classic gothic monsters on a modern rampage of redemption and damnation.

Raw, fast-paced and bristling with atmosphere, this is a bloody and blasphemous epic that leaves no church unburned.”
