“Following Wacken in 2019, our live season closed giving us time where I could have my hip replacement surgery and we could take the recovery time to work on a new album…Little did anyone know we’d be hit by a pandemic that would pause the whole world. We began our work at a pace then being locked down with no prospect of live shows I decided there was no need to rush it along but utilize the time to create without the pressure of live work looming.

So we began recording our songs .. and after producing twice the amount required we began editing, touching, improving, and polishing until we had until we finally had what we decided was THE correct album along with the label and here we can finally present to you .. a pure ball of furious… Venom Inc power that left us feeling proud and excited at the same time…THIS album is now yours!!! And as the world runs through its evolution of its colors remember .. when the sun goes out…THERE’S ONLY BLACK!!!!! AVE“

Original Venom Guitarist Mantas Wants Band’s Classic Lineup To Reunite To Celebrate 40th Anniversary Of “Black Metal”

During a recent Facebook Live session, former Venom guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn (Venom Inc.) talked a bit about the 40th anniversary of the band’s 1982 album “Black Metal.” Notably, the musician also mentioned that he would be open to reuniting with the group’s classic lineup to commemorate the milestone.

Mantas said the following:

“I’ll never retract anything I’ve said, because I’m sorry but it’s true. Regardless of what him or him thinks, it’s true; it’s just as simple as that. I’m not gonna go out there and blatantly talk a lot of bollocks like one of us did. What I’ve said is absolutely true, and I’ve put it in print — into the book as well. It’s there. It’s absolutely true. But we’re at that age now — I’m 60; Bray’s, like, 61; Conrad’s what — 58, 59? We’ve just been through a massive fucking pandemic where nobody’s done anything. We’ve got fucking a war in Europe at the minute. [All the issues we’ve had with each other], it fucking pales into insignificance; it’s fucking bollocks.

Like I say, I’ll never fucking say ‘sorry’; I’ll never fucking turn around and go, ‘Yeah, well, I didn’t fucking mean that.’ What I said was fucking true. But we missed the 25th anniversary. We didn’t celebrate the 30th anniversary. And it’s, like, for a band who had such a fucking impact… And, again, my friends, I still find it difficult to take in myself, people saying…

When I did the interviews for the 40th anniversary of ‘Welcome To Hell’ — there’s another anniversary we fucking missed; nothing done about it; it just passed. But the thing was, I got these interviews in, and people were saying to me, ‘You just don’t realize the importance of what you did.’ I don’t, because I suppose we were so close to it. I’ve said it a million times — I was just a fucking kid writing tunes in my fucking bedroom living with my mom, and I was lucky; people fucking dig them.

But it’s, like, could we not just fucking celebrate this for once? I mean, fucking hell — I’ve already died once. And fucking you haven’t got long, and you haven’t got long, because I know what you’ve fucking done to yourselves.”

He also added the following about Venom Inc.’s plans to perform “Black Metal” in full during the October 2 date of this year’s Keep It True festival in Würzburg, Germany:

“When the Keep It True thing came along, I thought, ‘Yes! Yes! I’m gonna fucking do it.’ Because no one fucking else is. Nobody else is gonna go out there and celebrate this fucking album — monumental fucking album. It should be fucking celebrated.”

Venom Inc. “Have 24 Brand New Songs” Written For Their New Album

During a recent interview on the “Heavy Demons” radio show, Jeff “Mantas” Dunn offered an update on the new Venom Inc. album. According to him, the band “have 24 brand new songs” written for the effort and it is “sounding great.”

Dunn said the following:

“So far, we have 24 brand new songs, and they are all at the first preliminary mix stage. But we need to get the vocals done. Tony usually comes to Portugal to do vocals in my studio, but with all the restrictions at the moment [due to the coronavirus pandemic], it’s just not possible. So we’re just gonna have to wait.”

“[The material is] sounding great. Dare I say this, it sounds better than ‘Avé’ I think it does.”

He also added the following when asked about release plans:

“It’s pointless saying to people, ‘Oh, yeah, it’ll be out in the spring,’ ‘Yeah, it’ll be out in the summer.’ We just don’t know — we really don’t know. At the moment, the U.K. looks like it’s possibly locked down until March, so nobody’s going anywhere. And Portugal have shut their borders to a lot of countries, so getting in and out of places is just so difficult at the moment. So it may come down to Tony having to find a studio somewhere in London or whatever. I really don’t know.

Like what we did with ‘Avé’, I had a lot of the lyrics written for that album already, and then when Tony came over, then any gaps that were there, we filled them in together. We tend to work on the vocals and the phrasing and all that kind of stuff together. So maybe it’ll just be down to Tony this time. I don’t know. We’ll have to see how the restriction situation goes. We’ll have to keep a close eye on it and see what happens.”

Allegaeon, Soilwork, Venom Inc., & Warbringer Members Team Up On New Song “Drag Them To The Guillotine”

Guitarist Taylor Nordberg (Soilwork) and drummer Jeramie Kling (Venom Inc.) have released a new song titled “Drag Them To The Guillotine” as part of their “Smoke & Mirrors” project. This track also features vocalist Riley McShane (Allegaeon) and bassist Chase Bryant (Warbringer).

Venom Inc. Begin Recording New Album

Venom Inc. have officially started the recording process for their new album. Guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn will be handling the production duties for the record.

Tony “The Demolition Man” Dolan said the following:

“I am a firm believer that you try to better yourself in life, not by comparison to anyone else but to yourself.. Making a new album, proudly under a label like Nuclear Blast, gives me that opportunity again.. If ‘Avé’ was a great album, then this new one needs to be even greater… if the performances on ‘AVÉ’ were the best we could be then, it will follow that we will outdo ourselves and be better than we were… We don’t care how good or bad ANYONE else is… we are here to challenge ourselves. With the 3 of us in total synchronisation and firing every cylinder we each have, expect something, intense, powerful, dark, spitting, visceral, foreboding, and no holds barred… HEAVY AS A FUCKING WORLD MADE FROM LEAD! Feel the Fire, Hear us Roar… for WE ARE VENOM INC!”

Jeff “Mantas” Dunn added:

“I have always maintained that I am a man of few words, I let the music do the talking and this motherfucker is speaking volumes and has not stopped to draw breath. Furious, aggressive, relentless, vicious, culled from experience and hatred and with the personnel to deliver it, this makes no excuses for what it is . . HEAVY FUCKING METAL!”

Jeramie “The WarMachine” Kling continued:

“For the new VENOM INC album I have tried a new technique. I have started by completely dismantling my drums and replacing the usual drum kit with rockets bought in hell…. and the rest of the kit you ask ?!? Well, that’s been replaced by flame throwers, gun powder and a tank gun!!! And I’m driving it all like a fucking WARMACHINE straight at you! Nothing is safe and nothing will survive!!”
