“‘Shinola’ was obviously originally written about a certain jerk but unfortunately most of us can relate as we know a lot of them. There’s a lot of negative, ignorant idiots in the world and sometimes it’s good to vent frustrations by singing about it. And karma always gets us in the end anyway!”

  • Poison The Well Premiere “Everything Hurts” Video

Poison The Well have premiered a new video for their new song “Everything Hurts.” This track is from their new album, “Peace In Place,” which will be released on March 20. Vocalist Jeffrey Moreira commented:

“‘Everything Hurts’ is about the patience and effort it takes to keep relationships alive. I care deeply about the people in my life, but even the people you love can be frustrating sometimes. And it’s important to remember that we can be just as frustrating to them. We all have our moments — and I have my moments too. The ones that stick around are the ones you have a unique connection with. You can’t put up with everyone’s shit, so the people you keep close are the ones whose shit you actually want to deal with.”

  • Marilyn Manson Appears To Have Reunited With Tim Skold

It looks like Marilyn Manson has reunited with Tim Skold. The frontman seemingly confirmed the news by sharing a new photo with the guitarist. He also included the following caption:

“We are the things of shapes to come. MM + TS.”

This news comes after guitarist Tyler Bates recently exited Manson’s band.

  • Metallica To Be Honored At 2026 Red Cross Gala

Metallica are set to be honored during the 2026 Red Cross Gala at The Conservatory at One Sansome in San Francisco, CA on March 21. The band are being recognized for their blood donation initiatives.

    Metallica commented:

“We’re beyond honored to be named the Visionary Partner of the Year at this year’s Red Cross Gala in San Francisco!

Giving back as a united, engaged community has always been at the core of All Within My Hands, and working alongside the Red Cross has shown us just how powerful that can be.

From last year’s fan-fueled Red Cross × Metallica blood drive series — which blew us away by hitting more than 1,000 donations in its first month — to years of teaming up on disaster relief, we’ve seen firsthand how acts of kindness can save lives.

Thank you to the Red Cross for this incredible recognition, and thank you to the #MetallicaFamily, who prove every day that doing good is something we all can amplify. Seeing fans, volunteers, and entire communities show up again and again shows just how much this work matters.”

  • Geoff Tate’s Guitarist Kieran Robertson Says They Are Putting The “Finishing Touches” On “Operation: Mindcrime III”

It looks like Geoff Tate (ex-Queensrÿche) is almost done with “Operation: Mindcrime III.” The singer’s guitarist, Kieran Robertson, says they are currently putting the “finishing touches” on the album.

Robertson told Border City Rock Talk the following:

“Yeah, super finishing touches. It’s me, Geoff, [DISTURBED bassist] John Moyer [who is producing the effort] and then obviously all the other amazing musicians who have played on it. But right now it’s just me, Geoff and John going over the final, final touches of the mixing and stuff. So we were a couple of days in Texas. We were just adding some new stuff. And then we have two days off at the end of this tour, [and we’re] going to San Francisco to finalize it. So I’m fairly confident within the next month we’ll have a… I mean, I’ve got the songs. It’s really minimal things now. It’s, like, ‘That snare drum needs to come out or [be] turn[ed] up.’ But in terms of listening to the album, yeah, it’s killer.”

He continued when asked if the album is closer to “Operation: Mindcrime” or “Operation: Mindcrime II”:

“That’s a good question, man. I really like ‘Operation: Mindcrime II’ as well. What we tried to do, and me and John spoke about that, is we wanna bring you back to the ‘Mindcrime I’ universe with a modern feel — just modern as in the drums sound bigger. ‘Operation: Mindcrime’ is a very sort of tinny-sounding album. It’s an incredible album, but just [by] today’s standards, now this album’s gonna have some bottom end and some punch. But I think definitely ‘Operation: Mindcrime I’ would be, from my standpoint of writing it and production, that’s where my head was.”

He also added the following about the length:

“Right now we’re still sort of deciding that. Right now, in a Dropbox folder, I have about 10 songs. That’s what we’re kind of working with right now. It could be more, could be less. That’s up to the big boss man to decide. I just submit them.”

  • Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe: “When I Get All Weird And Full Of Existential Angst, I Try And Put Things In A Broader Perspective”

During a recent appearance on the “Let There Be Talk” podcast, Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe shared his thoughts on existential dread amid the current state of the world. The frontman says “when [he gets] all weird and full of existential angst, [he tries to] put things in a broader perspective.”

    Blythe said the following:

“When I get all weird and full of existential angst, I try and put things in a broader perspective. And it’s hard right now ’cause everything’s so fucking negative. But it’s, like. I’m getting ready to turn 55. A couple hundred years ago we would be old. So we’re doing all right, man. And then the other thing is I’m not in any hurry to depart this planet. I’m enjoying myself. I love being here, but I’ve had a good life, and eventually, and from a cosmic scale, in one billion years — every billion years, the sun gets 10% hotter. This is true. Science tells us. And eventually it will supernova and it will swallow the earth. And I think that’s about five to six billion years. But within one billion years, the sun will have gotten hot enough so that the oceans will boil. So our planet is going to die within a billion years.

People are, like, ‘Why are you fucking with space? We’ve got problems to fix here.’ Well, if the future of humanity wants to continue, we do have to leave this place eventually. But I think about that — okay, this planet we have, everything I know is going to die. And that puts some perspective for me, and it reminds me that I’m just a tiny little insignificant speck. Because everything you see you’re viewing through the filter of your own existence, and it’s really easy to get lost up [in your head] and I think become too convinced of your own importance. Like I said, I’m in no hurry to die, but I’m just another piece of the bigger whole. So that’s on my good days, when I look at it the hippie-dippy, cosmic sort of way. [Laughs]”
