Nailed Shut MA have premiered a new video for their new song “Broken & Curled.” The band commented:

  • Shields Premiere New Song “Parasites”

Shields have premiered a new song titled “Parasites.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Death & Connection,” which will be released on January 30. Vocalist Joe Edwards said the following about the single:

“‘Parasites’ is about the experience of sinking into depression and the warped internal relationship that develops within that state. Originally a rock song from a previous project, ‘Parasites’ was repurposed for our album. As the original track already had dark undertones, it was easy to re-frame it in moody industrial arrangements, allowing for a wide range of dynamic shifts between sections.”

  • Devin Townsend Launches Patreon Digital Fan Club

Devin Townsend has launched a new digital fan club via Patreon. The musician commented:

“I’ve been curious about Patreon and the model for a long time. I appreciate the idea of an avenue where artists can connect directly with their audience without the interference of algorithms, ads or content best practices. I guess amidst all this craziness in the world, it’s really about connection. It’s about being able to create with and for you, not for a faceless platform in hopes that it lands on the right ears by chance.”

“No one has asked me that yet, but yes, [Ace wanted me to appear on ‘Origins Vol. 3’]. It kills me, man. It kills me, because he did ask me, and I am so sad. So, yeah… I was gonna do it with him. I don’t know what song I was gonna do, but he wanted me to play on the record because I did his others. I cherish those times.”

  • The Darkness Announce December 2026 UK Tour

The Darkness have announced a December 2026 UK tour. Brothers Osborne and A will open.

    Tour Dates:

12/08 Glasgow, UK – OVO Hydro
12/09 Leeds, UK – FD Arena
12/11 Manchester, UK – AO Arena
12/12 Birmingham, UK – Utilita Arena
12/13 Cardiff, UK – Utilita Arena
12/15 Brighton, UK – Brighton Centre
    12/16 London, UK – The O2

The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins commented:

“Powerful rock was designed to be played in huge rectangular buildings. Huge rectangular buildings were designed to house powerful rock bands. The Darkness are a powerful rock band and the arenas listed below are huge rectangular buildings. Except for the exception which proves the rule. Thank you, O2 Arena…

In December 2026 this elegantly logical proposition will become a reality, driven by three bands consisting of seven brothers. Three of them are Perrys, from Lowestoft’s A. Two of them are Osbornes, from the Brothers Osborne. And two of them are my brother Dan and I. The Darkness, Brothers Osborne and A, veritable Bands of Brothers, rocking in a huge rectangular (or domed) building — what could be more powerful than that?”

Brothers Osborne singer/guitarist TJ Osborne added:

“There was cosmic ripple in the space time continuum that led to our paths crossing. Can’t wait to prove, once again, that brothers do it best and guitar solos are alive and well.”

  • Soundgarden Are “Pretty Close” To Finishing Their Final Album With Chris Cornell

During an interview with Allison Hagendorf, Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd offered an update on their final album with the late Chris Cornell. Notably, the band are “pretty close” to finishing the effort.

Thayil said the following about working on the upcoming record with producer Terry Date:

“One of the cool things about Terry, is he never imposed his production style or sound on any bands. He would learn from the bands. And one of the things he would assert when he took a job was, ‘I want this to be a co-production thing.’ And it’s, like, ‘Well, that fits just perfect with the kind of band we are.’ There are a lot of producers out there who have a particular style — for instance, you think about Phil Spector and the ‘wall of sound’. It’s, like, okay, well, that’s his thing. But producers had that kind of role in the ’60s and, to some degree, the ’70s, but with the way bands are post-1977, they have a sense of what they’re writing and what they wanna sound like, and the producers should simply facilitate that. And Terry’s that guy. I mean, you listen to records he’s done, and it’s very different from certainly what he’s done with us. There isn’t a signature Terry Date thing. It is him helping the band be the band.”

Cameron also addressed a previous comment regarding the differences in songwriting:

“There’s very familiar elements in some of this new music, but, yeah, there was a couple songs that felt like it was kind of a new chapter or it could have been a new chapter. So it’s really exciting to hear that. It’s bittersweet, of course.

But, yeah, I’m really excited for people to hear it, have our fans hear it. It’s fun for us to be working on it. And sometimes listening to it, it’s overpowering. But, yeah, I’m super proud of the music that we did put together. And we’re pretty close [to finishing it]. And, yeah, it is nice having Terry on board with us, for sure.”

Shepherd went on to say that the songs sound stronger than the initial demos:

“I was going to get coffee down the hall from the control room, and Nate and Terry were playing it back — Nate’s our assistant engineer on it. It was, like, ‘Holy hell. That SOUNDGARDEN. It’s so cool to hear it again.’”

    Thayil added:

“Yeah, it’s like we had these various demos, and you had a particular quality. And it was, like, ‘Okay, how do we flesh this out?’ And then we start doing it, and it’s, like, ‘This sounds different.’ It’s almost like you can pinpoint before and after. It’s, like, ‘Now it’s SOUNDGARDEN.’”

  • Kirk Windstein On New Down Album: “It’s Really Gonna Be A Killer, Killer Record”

During an appearance on “The Jasta Show,” Down’s Kirk Windstein discussed the band’s upcoming album. According to him, “it’s really gonna be a killer, killer record.”

    Windstein said the following:

“We kind of got it set up for Pepper and I to finish all the guitars in November. He doesn’t get home till October 27th or something, and we [in CROWBAR] do the [Headbangers] Boat, but we’re home. We’ll be home on the 5th of November, so I’m pretty much ready. Give me two or three days, and we’ll start knocking out guitar.

Phil’s doing the vocals at [his] home studio, and that’s where drums and bass were done. We did all the rhythm guitars at Duane’s [Simoneaux]. And Eddie’s [Mapp, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY’s live sound engineer] going out with ZAKK SABBATH on that tour, which is long. So he’s gonna be going all the way up to practically Christmas, so me and Pepper are, like, we might as well just do it at Duane’s and knock out the solos and sweetie tracks and stuff over there. But I think Phil’s got the proper files on two of the songs. So, to my knowledge, by the weekend or going in the next week, he may have done two already. We were talking at [the] Louder Than Life [festival in September], and he’s, like, dude, ‘I guess I oughta just…’ ‘Cause he’s already got it all written and planned out. Drums and bass are done, rhythm guitars are done. And he goes, ‘I guess I oughta just knock it out while my pipes are good,’ because that PANTERA/AMON AMARTH [tour] was long. They did have a break and all, but it was long. And I said, ‘Yeah, dude, just go for it while you’re feeling good.’ I mean, he can do it on his own schedule, his own pace. All he’s gotta do is say, ‘Yeah, I wanna sing today.’ Or, ‘Yeah, I ain’t feeling it. Okay, I’ll can come in tomorrow’ or whatever. But it’s 10 tracks, [and] he’s got great ideas on all of ’em. It’s really gonna be a killer, killer record.

It’s either gonna totally be this huge thing or just flop. But if you’re a DOWN fan, I don’t see how you can not like it.”
