    The band are previewing the release with a maxi-single featuring four versions of the title track. They are also seeking a guest vocalist for another take on the song. Singer Scott Anderson said the following:

    “We have always loved the idea of turning ‘Last Night on Earth’ into a duet. Putting the #F11LastNightDuet idea out to the artist community and leaving the creative boundaries open is key. We hope artists will bring their own style and emotion — whether by adding lyrics, adjusting the arrangement, or working within the existing framework. I’m excited to hear the different interpretations. I have no idea what to expect, and that’s exactly what I love about it.”

  • Journey’s Deen Castronovo Suffers Medical Emergency During Tulsa, Oklahoma Show

    Earlier tonight (October 8), Journey drummer Deen Castronovo was taken to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency during the band’s show at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK. The incident occurred just two songs into the group’s set.

    Keyboardist Jonathan Cain addressed the crowd:

    “We’re gong to see what happens as this progresses. It’s an unfortunate situation. We’re very sorry. We’re hoping it’s only a delay, but please — I’m sorry. Don’t worry. Have your prayers ready. Have your prayers ready for Deen Castronovo, everybody. Thank you.”

    Guitarist Neal Schon then followed up:

    “He’s heading to the hospital. We’re going to continue the concert, and Deen’s tech, his drum tech, is going to sit in with us tonight. Please give a big hand for Steve Toomey. We’ll be back in about 15 minutes. We love you all, we’re really sorry about the inconvenience.”

    When the band returned, singer Arnel Pineda gave a seemingly positive update:

    “We ask for your prayers for our brother Deen Castronovo. He’s gonna be fine. Too much Gatorade.”

    Schon also decided to dedicate the rest of the concert to his bandmate:

    “This concert’s for Deen tonight. I’d love you all to pray for him. Everybody’s been going through a lot. I think he’s going to be fine.”

  • Party Cannon Cancel Deathober Fest Set

    Party Cannon have cancelled their October 10 set at the Deathober Fest in Liège, Belgium. The band scrapped the show due to “a ruptured pilonidal cyst.”

    The group commented:

    “Actual serious post again

    We will unfortunately not be performing at Deathtober Fest in Liege, Belgium this Saturday due to medical issues A member of our band has suffered from a ruptured pilonidal cyst and has been left unable to travel for the time being

    That’s right, He has an ass infection.

    Huge apologies to everyone, we haven’t cancelled a gig since 2021 so we did not take this lightly – we were already playing the fest with a fill in drummer so feel we would not deliver the show everyone deserves by being a further member down

    We would like to thank Deathtober Fest for booking us and send a massive thank you to Sean Watkins for learning our set

    We will be back in Belgium with on the 25th of March with Internal Bleeding and Guttural Slug and hope you will all rage with us there

    Our US tour with Nekrogoblikon, Aborted and Signs Of The Swarm starts next week and remains unaffected, we will be there with our full lineup

  • Celestial Sanctuary Premiere “Lashed By Chain” Music Video

    Celestial Sanctuary have premiered a new video for their new song “Lashed By Chain.” You can check that out below. The track is from their new album, “Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul,” which will be released on January 22.

    Vocalist/guitarist Tom Cronin commented:

    “This was the first song to be written for this album and an immediate statement of intent for what to expect. Tight, fast riffing, a brutal slam that jumps out of the shadows to piledrive you into oblivion and a big dual guitar solo that wouldn’t sound out of place in a Maiden tune. The lyrics follow the story of a knight who has one hand crossed with gold and riches, and the other with iron symbolizing that he’s sold his destiny to fight an unwinnable war. The theme treads the line of yearning to return to the things you love, the drive to survive, and the cruelty of false hope – being driven to survive in the most hopeless of times. Don’t be fooled… there is nothing positive about this and there is no happy ending.

    Musically, we wanted to channel a tighter rhythmic sound on this record. We really wanted to push the limit of what we could do with syncopated riffs and sudden time signature changes.

    We wanted to make a video that felt real, gritty and tactile. As a video producer by trade, I see a lot of videos that feel like an afterthought, so we took a considered approach with every element of the video. As I was directing and producing it myself, I felt a responsibility to make this as fucking cool as I possibly could.

    We filmed it in a 9th century, deconsecrated church that was built on a burial site in England’s first city. We composed every shot of us playing meticulously and complimented that with high contrast lighting to match the colours in the animation and album artwork. We shot, graded and edited in such a way so you can feel the energy and aggression of our performance pouring out of your screen and into your face!

    When it came to the animation element of the video, we purposely wanted something tangible, so we worked with Ben Amos Cooper to create visuals that compliment James Bousema’s album artwork in their own way. While they each have their own identity, the two are so undeniably entwined.”

  • Andrew Watt Claims Most Of Black Sabbath Were Down To Record A New Album But Bill Ward “Wasn’t Able To Do It”

    During a recent appearance on the Lipps Service podcast, Andrew Watt claimed he almost got to produce a final Black Sabbath album. However, drummer Bill Ward “wasn’t able to do it.”

    Watt said the following:

    “So what happened there was we had made these two Ozzy [Osbourne] albums [‘Ordinary Man’ and ‘Patient Number 9’], and Ozzy wanted to make another album. [He] didn’t wanna do exactly the same thing that we had done before, so he was into the idea of doing a Sabbath album. So [Ozzy’s wife and manager] Sharon and him said I had to call and talk to each guy and see if they were into it. So I called Tony [Iommi], talked to him, and he said he was into it, as long as Bill [Ward] was there. That was everyone’s thing. Ozzy was, like, ‘If Bill does it, we’ll do it.’ And Geezer [Butler] said, ‘If the other guys are in it, I’m in to do it.’ So I had this 40-minute call with Bill, which was one of the weirdest and funniest phone calls just ever, of all time. It was on the phone. But it was personal things that were talked about on that phone call that made Ozzy and Sharon crack up. It’s, like, an inside joke. Long story short, it ended up that Bill was not gonna be able to make the record. Like, he wasn’t able to do it for a multitude of different reasons. So that’s why that didn’t happen. But the other guys were all into doing it. And then Bill sent us all this long e-mail, and then it was over.”

    This news comes after Iommi previously claimed he “didn’t like the idea” of a new album.
