Rhino have released high fidelity reels of Black Sabbath’s self-titled debut album and its follow-up “Paranoid.” You can purchase those HERE.

“Black Sabbath forged the dark sound of heavy metal in 1970 across two monumental albums—their self-titled debut and its multi-platinum follow-up, Paranoid. Today, new audiophile editions of both are available on reel-to-reel from Rhino High Fidelity.
Black Sabbath and Paranoid (Rhino High Fidelity R2R) were duplicated in real time from 1:1 copies of the U.S. analog master tapes. The result is a master-quality listening experience that captures the full dynamics of these recordings. The 15 i.p.s. half-track 1/4″ tape is produced to the IEC equalization standard on premium RTM LPR90 tape stock and stored on a 10.5″ metal reel. Each Reel-to-Reel edition is limited to 500 copies worldwide and available exclusively at Rhino.com.
Released on Friday the 13th in February 1970, the self-titled debut from the Birmingham, England quartet conjured a sinister, visceral sound that reshaped rock music. Powered by Tony Iommi‘s crushing guitar riffs, Ozzy Osbourne‘s primal vocals, Geezer Butler‘s seismic bass lines, and Bill Ward‘s powerhouse drumming, tracks like “Black Sabbath” and “N.I.B.” set a high bar for heavy music. The album peaked at #8 on the U.K. chart and #23 on the Billboard 200, eventually earning platinum certification in the U.S.
Later that year, in September 1970, Paranoid solidified the band’s status as the Godfathers of Heavy Metal. Brooding anthems like “Iron Man,” “War Pigs,” and the frenetic title track combined unforgettable hooks with unbridled power, while the atmospheric “Planet Caravan” revealed their dynamic depth. The album topped the U.K. charts and peaked at #12 in the U.S., where it sold more than four million copies. Today, it ranks as one of the greatest and most influential metal albums of all time.

“Scott Weiland: Live” Album To Receive Wide Release In October
A new live album from late Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland is set to receive a CD, digital, and limited edition vinyl release on October 23. The effort, which is titled “Scott Weiland: Live,” was previously only available as a Record Store Day exclusive vinyl. The set was recorded during the 2009 “Happy In Galoshes” tour and it can be pre-ordered HERE. The first single, a live version of “Interstate Love Song,” can be found below:

“Built around an unnamed character who constructs an artificial world as a way of escaping the reality of how they truly feel, the EP explores depression, anxiety, isolation, and low self-worth through a world where nothing is quite what it seems.”
Vocalist Cameon Humphrey also commented:
“The more we wrote this record, the more we realised it wasn’t really about one person’s story — it’s about how people create versions of themselves just to get through modern life. We wanted to make something that felt real. Not polished to the point where it loses its humanity, but honest about the things that people don’t always want to talk about.
The character has built this entire world to escape how they actually feel, but we never tell you exactly why. That’s really important to us. We don’t want to give the listener a beginning, middle, and end and tell them what it means. We want people to find themselves somewhere inside it.
When we look back at ‘To Live In A Different Way’, we can hear where we were trying to get to. This feels like we’ve finally stopped worrying about what Love Is Noise is supposed to sound like. We had the confidence to do everything ourselves this time. Alex and I produced it, I played all the drums, Sam and Alex are properly embedded in the guitars and bass, and Alex has a much bigger vocal presence. It feels like the three of us are completely inside this record.
Everything about this project had to feel human. There’s so much AI-generated stuff everywhere now, and we didn’t want to contribute to that. The artwork is made by an actual artist. Sam built the website. We produced the music ourselves. Every part of it comes from people who are actually in the band. That’s kind of the irony of the whole EP. It’s about someone creating a fake world because they can’t deal with reality, while we’re making something as real as we possibly can.”
The EP’s first single, “smile.” (feat. PALESKIN’s Casper Frisk), can be found below. Humphrey added the following about that track:
“‘smile.‘ is a pursuit of happiness. An anthem for the lovers. A celebration of those who put others first. This song is a light in the dark when you forget who you are. You are worthy to someone out there, and don’t ever forget it.”
