  • Extermination Dismemberment Cancel August European Tour

    Extermination Dismemberment have cancelled their August European tour. The band were unable to move forward with the trek due to visa issues.

    The group commented:

    “To our European family,

    With heavy hearts, we’re so sorry to announce that we must cancel our August European shows.

    Due to unforeseen issues obtaining our Schengen visas, we’re unable to travel as planned. Despite exhausting every possible avenue over the past few months, we’ve reached the point where there’s simply no way for us to make these shows.

    This decision is heartbreaking, but it’s one we have no choice but to make. Unfortunately, this situation is completely beyond our control.

    We know how much you were looking forward to these nights, and we’re devastated to miss you. We’re also incredibly sorry to the promoters, festivals, venues and everyone who worked so hard to make these shows happen. Thank you for your love, patience and understanding. We can’t wait to see you when we’re able to return.

  • Beat (Ex-King Crimson, Etc.) Recruit Drummer Terry Bozzio, Announce Fall Tour

    Beat, the project featuring former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin alongside Steve Vai, have recruited Terry Bozzio as their new drummer. He replaces Danny Carey in the group. The band’s first tour with Bozzio will take place this fall.

    Belew commented:

    “For those of you who’ve seen Beat live, it’s important to note we’ll be adding some material from ’90s Crim to our U.S. tour. Along with the addition of superman drummer Terry Bozzio, we feel this will result in a new experience for our audience. We’re very excited to play for you again. Don’t miss it!

    Our deepest appreciation goes to our brother Danny Carey — a true Beat-poet. His extraordinary musicianship, generosity, humor, and explosive creativity helped establish Beat as something far beyond a tribute. He helped create its identity. While Tool commitments keep him from joining us this fall, he remains an essential part of our family.””

    Vai continued:

    “Terry is one of the truly legendary drummers of our time, whose remarkable career and unique musical voice make him the perfect artist to join us for this tour. He brings his own extraordinary artistry to Beat, and that’s something worth celebrating.”

    Bozzio added:

  • Melvins, Butthole Surfers, Etc. Members Team Up For New Project Gatta Morta

    Buzz Osborne (Melvins), JD Pinkus (Butthole Surfers), Coady Willis (Big Business), and Clinton Jacob (mr.phylzzz) have launched a new project called Gatta Morta. The band’s debut EP, “Burn Witch Burn,” is available now and it features the following tracks: “Taco Bellboy,” “Victims of the Universe,” “Black Hall,” and “Clear Smoke.”

    Osborne commented:

    “It’s always a good time for the world to embrace a new heavy/weird band. I had the idea for Gatta Morta while touring last fall. I realized I needed to start a band with these three. Seemed like a no-brainer. Solidly weird rock music that needs to happen.”

    Pinkus continued:

    “It’s been way too long since I got to write a heavy album from scratch with such high-caliber players with such complimentary styles… and we’re just cat scratching the surface of what we got goin’ on.”

    Jacob added:

    “I just had this feeling that one day we would work together. I became friends with Buzz over the past few years doing shows together and having him play guitar on a mr.phylzzz song. When I was asked to be a part of Gatta Morta, I was speechless, but I was 100% ready for it.”

    A Night In Texas have premiered a new song titled “A Primal Conditioning.” This track is from their new album, “The Darkest Side Of Humanity,” which will be released on September 4. The group commented:

    “‘A Primal Conditioning’ explores the idea that beneath the veneer of civilization lies a nature that can never truly be erased. The track examines the instinctual drives, impulses, and behaviours embedded within human DNA—traits forged through millions of years of evolution that continue to shape our actions regardless of morality, culture, or progress. It questions whether humanity is genuinely in control of its destiny or simply acting out ancient biological programming disguised as free will. Driven by relentless aggression and suffocating intensity, ‘A Primal Conditioning’ is a dark reflection on the animal that still exists within us all, exposing the uncomfortable reality that some aspects of human nature may be impossible to overcome.”

    Ignea have premiered a new video for their new song “Darkness.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Monumental,” which will be released on October 23. Vocalist Helle Bohdanova commented:

    “‘Darkness’ is about the rides we take into nostalgia when the present gets too heavy — and how bittersweet it is to realize you can never actually go back. As all IGNEA members are from Kyiv, we wanted to make a nostalgic ode to our city, walking through its memory — the same modernist buildings that once promised a future, the subway stations, the same streets that hold our childhoods, our first kisses, people we’ve lost. The war, in its turn, adds its own layer of darker nostalgia, watching those buildings burn in real time — and it heavily affected both days of filming. On the first day, one of the worst missile attacks on Kyiv hit the night before — we hadn’t slept at all, running on nothing but adrenaline, and the city was still on fire as we drove to the location. On the second, we filmed through the city with sirens and drones overhead. Considering this, we’re living in literal darkness, longing for the peaceful, trouble-free days… Can we ever get back?”
