Evanescence’s Will Hunt Issues Statement About His Drums Being Set On Fire During “Knotfest Mexico” Riot

As previously reported, Slipknot and Evanescence were forced to cancel their performances at “Knotfest Meets Forcefest” in Mexico City due to a broken stage barricade. This angered a number of fans, who responded by storming the stage and destroying gear belonging to the bands. Evanescence’s Will Hunt, whose drum kit was set on fire during the riot, has since commented on the situation, saying it was caused by “a small group of morons.”

Hunt said the following:

“So, a lot of questions about this. First and foremost everyone is ok. We love Mexico and as a whole the fans are incredible. The riot that happened was a small group of morons and they WILL NOT change my love for the Mexican people or our fans in Mexico. As for the rest of it, here are my (somewhat comical) take aways.

1st- Do you even riot bruh?! I mean, hell, if you’re gonna do it, REALLY do it!! Burn the whole fuckin’ thing down!!! What you pack of pu@$ies did was weak and stupid- JUST LIKE YOU.

2nd. If you’re gonna torch my beautiful @pearl_drums kit that meant the world to me (second video), at least cook some meat or marshmallows over the fire!! Fuckin’ weak ass pu@$y AMATEURS!! Again- weak and stupid JUST LIKE YOU.

And 3rd- to the kind worker trying to clean up the mess- before you cart off my still smoldering kit (third video and because it used to rock so hard it’s still on fire!!) you should probably make sure the embers are out because IT CAUGHT BACK ON FIRE SMOKEY!!! So there ya go……… Moral of the story is don’t half ass anything…… least of which, your fucking riot, which again was WEAK AND STUPID JUST LIKE YOU FUCKING MORONS….”

Gus G. To Release New Album “Fearless” In April

Gus G. (Firewind, ex-Ozzy Osbourne) has announced that his new album “Fearless” will be released on April 20. That effort finds the guitarist joined by vocalist/bassist Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic) and drummer Will Hunt (Evanescence).

“Fearless” Track Listing:

01. “Letting Go”
02. “Mr. Manson”
03. “Don’t Tread On Me”
04. “Fearless”
05. “Nothing To Say”
06. “Money For Nothing” (Dire Straits cover)
07. “Chances”
08. “Thrill Of The Chase”
09. “Big City”
10. “Last Of My Kind”

Digipak/Vinyl Bonus Tracks:

11. “Little Ain’t Enough”
12. “Aftermath”

Gus said the following about his bandmates:

“Dennis and I have collaborated very closely for a number years, he produced the current Firewind album Immortals, among other things. We’re on the same musical wavelength and simply continued our cooperation after the Firewind production. I sent him demos of and ideas for my new songs and once we had enough material and started to think about vocalists, Dennis suggested recording the album as a trio.

A lot of people don’t realize that Dennis is not only a brilliant songwriter, bassist and producer, but also an excellent singer. I immediately liked his suggestion because this would be very different from everything else I’ve done before.”

“Will was at the very top of my wish list. Fate smiled on me because we played at the Frankfurt music fair 2017 during my tour with Steve Stevens, and Will stayed at the same hotel. So I approached him, we talked for a while and he agreed. Last August he came to the studio and recorded the drum parts for the whole album within two and a half days. A real pro with a great groove and an awesome punch.”
