  • Gouge Away Premiere “Figurine” Music Video

Gouge Away have premiered a new video for their new song “Figurine.” You can check that out below. A limited edition 7″ vinyl pressing featuring the single and a cover of Grauzone‘s “Eisbär“ can also be pre-ordered HERE. A cassingle will be available during the band’s upcoming shows as well.

    Vocalist Christina Michelle commented:

“Before the tour, I was digitizing home videos, having to see myself as a kid from an outside perspective. I knew I was shy, a people-pleaser, and all these things, but it was different to watch it on film. I was always afraid of disappointing people so I made myself small and rarely acted outside of this little box I found myself in.

Instead of getting into trouble like most kids, I didn’t really break out of my comfort zone until much more recently. I thought I had to work really hard to be loved. I stretch myself so thin to please everyone else that it winds up being the expectation. I found people who love me, even when I am a messy trainwreck, and that toppled my entire reality. And yet, there’s still this little kid inside of me who is afraid of upsetting her parents.”

  • Papa Roach Reveal Their Choices For The Best Nü-Metal Song

Members of Papa Roach recently offered their choices for the best nü-metal song in a new video. Among the tracks mentioned were their own “Last Resort,” Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” Korn’s “Blind,” and Deftones’ “My Own Summer (Shove It).”

    The musicians said the following:

    Singer Jacoby Shaddix:

“I’d be biased and say ‘Last Resort’ by Papa Roach, but I’ll give it to Limp Bizkit ‘Break Stuff.‘”

    Bassist Tobin Esperance:

“I dont know. Probably like ‘Blind’ or something, Korn. The first time I heard that opening intro to ‘Blind’ I was like, ‘Oh shit, this is something that I haven’t heard before.’”

    Drummer Tony Palermo:

“I know Deftones don’t like to be coined as nü-metal, but ‘Shove It‘ is up there.”

    Guitarist Jerry Horton:

“I mean it’s gotta be ‘Last Resort.’
