During a recent interview with NME, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine addressed the possibility of inviting former members of the band to take part in their farewell tour once again. However, according to him, “there’s not a valid reason to do something like that.”
Mustaine said the following:
“If we were to look at doing that, then you’ve got some members that are deceased. You’ve got some members that I’m friends with, but they can’t play anymore like Chuck [Behler]. And then you’ve got a couple guys that are saying very bad things about me in the press. So why would I want to play with those guys?
We did this before with Marty [Friedman], and I’m sure that if the opportunity presented itself and the timing was right, I would reconsider having one of the guys from the band’s alumni play with us. But if it was something that didn’t end very well, why would I? There’s not a valid reason to do something like that, especially when we have limited time on stage anyway.”
Savatage are preparing to release a new live album that was recorded during a June 29, 1990 show at the Palace in Los Angeles, CA. That concert was part of the “Gutter Ballet” tour.
Singer Jon Oliva commented:
“Hey everyone, a quick update!
The triple live album with Criss is being turned over to the record company this Monday, the 26th, and it will be coming out soon.
This is live from the Palace in Los Angeles on the Gutter Ballet tour, and in my opinion, it’s one of the best shows we ever did. Criss and I were absolutely on fire that night — his playing was incredible, my singing was strong, and yeah… I was pretty funny too 😄
We’ve remixed and mastered the entire show, and it sounds absolutely amazing. The song list is fantastic, and the energy from that night really comes through.
This is truly a must-have for every real Savatage fan. I can’t wait for you all to hear it.
Rachel Bolan (Skid Row) has announced a new solo album titled “Gargoyle Of The Garden State.” The effort will be released on June 12 and it will feature contributions from his Skid Row bandmates, Dave “Snake” Sabo, Scotti Hill, and Rob Hammersmith, as well as Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Danko Jones, Steve Conte (New York Dolls) and Damon Johnson (Lynyrd Skynyrd).
Bolan said the following about the album during an appearance on the “Rockstrap” podcast:
“It doesn’t sound like SKID ROW. I’m doing most of the singing. I’ve got a few guests on there. Our buddy Steve Conte is singing a song. The first single Danko Jones is singing with me. And then there’s another song that Corey Taylor sang. So there’s that. Snake played a solo. Scotti played a solo. Damon Johnson played a bunch of solos. Nuno Bettencourt played a solo. Hammersmith played drums on the whole thing. It’s a whole bunch of buds on there, and it’s cool, man. I’m really happy with the way it turned out. Nick produced it. He produced the [last] SKID ROW record, and every worth-a-shit Active Rock band that’s out there, he produced. He’s so great to work with because he is such a fan of music.
When we did my solo record, I played most of the guitars, most of the singing, all the bass. I didn’t do drums and I didn’t do some of the solos, so most of the solos. So it was a whole different dynamic that way [from making a SKID ROW album with Nick], because he was just talking to me. So it made it go a lot quicker. Stuff didn’t have to clear the committee’s vote and stuff and shit like that. So it was cool, man. And to see him excited about something that I wrote again, it was awesome, man. It was a really, really fun process.”
He continued when asked about cover songs:
“[I’m] doing one. I’m not gonna tell you [what it is]… I did it just for the hell of it because I heard it on the radio and I was, like, ‘Man, I didn’t know that was them.’ And so I was, like, ‘It’s a cool tune.’ And I was, like, ‘I’m gonna completely change this — not change the chord structure or lyrics or anything, but I’m gonna change the vibe of it.’ So I did it, expecting the band never to be heard from again, and then they were. And I’m, like, ‘Oh, okay.’”
He also added that he is “getting ready to shoot the first video” for the album and a single will arrive in the coming months.
Aerosmith will be releasing a “Legendary Edition” of their 1973 self-titled album on March 20. Founders Steven Tyler and Joe Perry remixed the record’s original recordings and tapes alongside producers Zakk Cervini and Steve Berkowitz. As previously reported, Poison’s 2026 touring plans were scrapped due to a financial dispute with Bret Michaels. As such, drummer Rikki Rockett was asked about the possibility of hiring a new frontman during an appearance on Rockin’ 101’s “The Johnny Rock Show.” He responded with the following:
“I would not want to do that. If the rest of the band was desirous to do it… and if I did, I’d want it to be temporary, I think. It’s not out of the question, but it’s not something I love the idea of, quite frankly.”
Turnstile recently received some praise after sharing a photo of an “Abolish ICE” sign on their Instagram story. However, former guitarist Brady Ebert has since blasted the band, saying they don’t actually care about ethics or social issues.
Ebert shared the following comment on Jesea Lee’s post about the aforementioned sign:
“Lmao, no one in turnstile cares at all about ethics or social issues in general, they’re just pandering to their audience. At turnstiles first free show they did they. Claimed all proceeds go to healthcare for the homeless, we raised 10000 dollars but i watched Brendan steal 4000 dollars from that and claim he needed to “pay the merch bill” which was false”
He also added:
“Also my friends filed a restraining order and guess what, they had two laywers with them abd I showed up to court bt myself and the judge DENIED the restraining order because there was no statute in the laws about what qualifies for a restraining order that they were able to meet the requirements of. In other words they had no reason to file it and it was all over text messages which they showed the judge and the judge agreed with me without me even having to testify so next time before u spread bullshit misinformation say that shit to my face.”
Septicflesh will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of “The Great Mass” with a new transparent red and black marbled vinyl pressing of the album. The limited edition reissue will be available on March 20 and it can be pre-ordered HERE. Guitarist/vocalist Sotiris Vayenas commented:
