  • Red Hot Chili Peppers Take Issue With Marketing Of New Netflix Documentary, Say It Was Meant To Focus On Hillel Slovak

Red Hot Chili Peppers have taken issue with the marketing behind Netflix’s “The Rise Of The Red Hot Chili Peppers” documentary. According to them, the project was meant to be a film about late guitarist Hillel Slovak rather than a general band documentary.

    The group said the following:

    “Dear people of the universe,

About a year ago, we were asked to be interviewed for a documentary about Hillel Slovak. He was a founding member of the group, a great guitarist, and friend. We agreed to be interviewed out of love and respect for Hillel and his memory.

However, this documentary is now being advertised as a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary, which it is not. We had nothing to do with it creatively. We have yet to make a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary. The central subject of this current Netflix special is Hillel Slovak and we hope it sparks interest in him and his work.”

As previously reported, “The Rise Of The Red Hot Chili Peppers” will hit Netflix on March 20.

  • Marmozets Premiere “New York” Music Video

Marmozets have premiered a new video for their new song “New York.” This track is from their new album, “CO.WAR.DICE.,” which will be released on May 22.

Vocalist Becca Bottomley commented on the song:

“New York is an eccentric city, full of eccentric people and that inspires us. We reminisced of our first trip over a bottle of red as we recorded ideas. We met a police officer smoking a cigar outside JFK airport, got in a cab while ‘Africa’ by Toto blasted out of the radio as we approached Manhattan. We wanted to write something that kind of encapsulated that 70’s punk energy while painting a picture of this wild experience we had of playing a show downtown to secure our first record deal.”

She also added the following about the album:

“’CO.WAR.DICE.’ is an album reflecting on the state of our world and a vow to ourselves to leave this world in a better place. We may never make a huge impact, but we can only try. Like any story there’s a beginning, middle and end and we’ve chosen for a happy ending.”

    “CO.WAR.DICE.” Track Listing:

    01. “A Kiss From A Mother”
    02. “New York ”
    03. “Cut Back”
    04. “Swear I’m Alive”
    05. “Running With The Sun In Your Eyes”
    06. “Dandy”
    07. “Like Last Night”
    08. “Mes Désirs”
    09. “You Want The Truth”
    10. “Flowerz”
    11. “Keep Going Darling”

  • Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” Serves As Ending Theme For New “Gundam” Film

Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” has been chosen as the ending theme for the latest “Gundam” film “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery Of Nymph Circe.” That movie is currently in theaters in Japan. A global theatrical release will follow.

Here’s a synopsis for the film:

“The year is U.C.0105, twelve years after Char’s Rebellion. “MAFTY” has begun resisting the Federation government’s tyrannical rule by assassinating its high-ranking officials. Its leader is actually Hathaway Noa, the son of Bright Noa, who fought in the One Year War alongside Amuro Ray.

Haunted by past trauma, Hathaway is drawn to a mysterious girl named Gigi Andalucia, whose strange powers stir memories within him. While swayed by her cryptic words, he continues preparing for MAFTY’s mission — the attack on the Adelaide Conference.

Kenneth Sleg of the Federation Forces prepares a defense operation for the Adelaide Conference and a plan to eliminate MAFTY and is approached by Handley Yoxon of the Criminal Police Organization with a secret proposal. As Hathaway and Kenneth pursue their respective goals, Gigi also sets off for Hong Kong to fulfill her own role.”

  • Dark Divine Premiere “Permanent” Video

Dark Divine have premiered a new video for their new song “Permanent.” The band commented:

“Our latest single, ‘Permanent’ illustrates the comparison of a toxic relationship to a bad tattoo. The circumstances surrounding it in the beginning may have been positive, but over time the memory becomes a permanent stain on not only the body but the mind as well.”

  • Guns N’ Roses Guitarist Slash On New Music: “We’ve Already Written A Ton Of Shit”

During a recent interview with Audacy, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash discussed the band’s new album plans once again. According to him, the group have “already written a ton of shit.”

    Slash said the following:

“We’ve already written a ton of shit, so we just have to get together and actually get into the process of going through all the material and figuring out what the songs are gonna be and recording them and all that kind of shit. And so that’s something that’s pending. It’s probably gonna happen sooner than later, because we’ve gotten all this other stuff out and we’ve been touring for pretty much the better part of the decade. And so we’ve been wanting to do this. It’s just a matter of buckling down. When is that gonna happen, where we’re, like, ‘Okay, no other distractions. We’re just gonna do this.’ Anyway. But it’s coming.”
