  • Archspire Premiere New Song “Limb Of Leviticus”

Archspire have premiered a new song titled “Limb Of Leviticus.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Too Fast To Die,” which will be released on April 10. Vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron commented:

“We wrote this song to try and make our new drummer quit. Instead, he requested we play it faster and mocked us for being bald. Boy, do we wish we had nice, thick, shiny hair like Spencer. Also, he’s the only member in the band that’s cut. Hope y’all dig this song!”

  • Jack Osbourne Says They Found A “Phenomenal Actor” To Play Ozzy Osbourne In A New Biopic

During an appearance on SiriusXM‘s “Influenced With Billy Morrison,” Jack Osbourne, son of the late Ozzy Osbourne, offered an update on his father’s biopic. According to him, a “phenomenal actor” has already been recruited to play the legendary singer.

Jack and Morrison had the following exchange:

Jack Osbourne: “We are in full steam into the next phase of development with his movie.”

Billy Morrison: “So that’s the biopic. That’s an acted-”

Jack: “Yes. That’s an acted movie that Sony Studios, we’ve been developing with Sony Studios for like six years already.”

Billy: “What did your dad think when he was alive about that? I mean, I know he said he wanted Denzel Washington to play him.”

    Jack: “Sadly, it’s not Denzel.”

    Billy: “It’s not Denzel?”

Jack: “No, no. Listen, we have our decided pick and we’re still kind of, you know, I can’t say anything, but it’s a phenomenal, phenomenal actor, but we haven’t, I mean, we have a director attached and we’re doing a rewrite right now.”

Billy: “That’s really exciting. I mean, that’s up there with the, you know, Freddie Mercury one. I mean, it’s been a big deal. The Bob Dylan one, but I think doing an Ozzy one is wonderful. I think he’d get a kick out of it.”

Jack: “Oh, he would, and all he kept saying, I’d give him updates. Like, ‘Oh, you know, we met with this guy and this is happening,’ and he just would go, he goes, ‘I don’t give a shit. Just tell me when it’s out so I can go see it.’”

  • Killswitch Engage Guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz & Ex-Singer Howard Jones Are Still Talking To Labels For Their Burn Eternal Project

Burn Eternal, the new project featuring Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and the band’s former singer Howard Jones, have officially finished their new album. However, the duo have yet to secure a label deal for the effort.

Dutkiewicz told TotalRock‘s “Louder” the following:

“It’s all ready to go. There’s still no release date, but it’s done. It’s done. We’re still in the midst of talking with some record labels as well, so obviously that needs to be shored up as well. It’s in the process, though. It’s in the process, yep.”

    He also added:

“It sounds a bit like Killswitch, obviously, because I’m a songwriter for Killswitch. Yeah, it sounds like me and Howard.”

  • Cryptic Shift To Release New Album “Overspace & Supertime” In February

Cryptic Shift will be releasing a new album, titled “Overspace & Supertime,” on February 27. Pre-orders can be found HERE.

    “Overspace & Supertime” Track Listing:

    01. “Cryogenically Frozen“
    02. “Stratocumulus Evergaol“
    03. “Hyperspace Topography“
    04. “Hexagonal Eyes (Diverity Trepaphymphasyzm)“
    05. “Overspace & Supertime“

    Drummer Ryan Shepherson commented:

“The concept of ‘Overspace & Supertime‘ plays as an alternative reality to the happenings of ‘Visitations From Enceladus‘, taking our character into new dimensions filled with both greater adventures and more bizarre encounters. Whilst the concept themes of our sci-fi tale have grown, so have our efforts in synthesizing it with the ultimate Astrodeath soundscape. The record takes the listener on a deeper journey through the fusion of our influences, with some exciting twists and turns along the way.”

An official video for the effort’s first single, “Hexagonal Eyes (Diverity Trepaphymphaszym),” can be found below. Vocalist/guitarist Alexander Bradley added the following about that song:

“The track demonstrates a vicious proficiency never before seen in death and thrash metal: A relentless flow of smart compositional ideas seize your attention in a black hole grip, across our most extreme material yet. ‘Diverity Trepaphyphasyzm’ then describes the first stages of a warped temporal disease as our character returns to the moonbase location from our highly acclaimed debut album. Films like the Star Wars prequels inspire us just as much as our contemporaries in the genre; fans of sci-fi storytelling and ripping technical metal are guaranteed to have a blast with this record.”

  • Metal Allegiance Recruit Alice In Chains’ William DuVall For New Song “Black Horizon”

Metal Allegiance have released a new song titled “Black Horizon.” The track finds drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), guitarist Alex Skolnick (Testament), and bassist Mark Menghi joined by Alice In Chains vocalist/guitarist William DuVall.

    The involved musicians commented:

    Menghi:

“Who would have thought we’d be here 12 years later with new MA music? Very excited to have one of my favorite vocalists from one of my favorite bands on the first new MA music in 8+ years, which opens up a new era for MA. As the saying goes, you can’t kill what doesn’t die.”

    Skolnick:

“This song is a gift from the ghost of MA past. It’s salvaged from a stockpile of riffs we’d started long ago but never quite finished. Now, in combination with a first time voice for the band — the great William Duvall — we are pleased to announce a brand new track, forged from what once was, here to kick off a new era. Check it out!”

    Portnoy:

“After having recording these drum tracks some time ago, I’m stoked that they finally get to see the light of day! Thanks to William for finishing it up for us and welcome to the MA family! \m/”

    DuVall:

“I was pleasantly surprised and absolutely honored to be asked to contribute to this song and I’m very happy with the result.”

A music video for the record’s first single, “Stay Melted,” can be found below. The band also added the following about that track:

“The world can feel like a total trash fire to the point where we become lethargic. Lethargy makes us our own worst enemy; sometimes you have to kill a thing before you lose yourself to it completely.”
