• Def Leppard’s Phil Collen Guests On New Crossbone Skully Song “Thunder Love”

Crossbone Skully, the project fronted by Tommy Henriksen (Alice Cooper, etc.), have premiered a new video for their new song “Thunder Love.” The band worked on the track with producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange and Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. The single will appear on the group’s upcoming album “Condemned To Rock N’ Roll.”

    Collen commented:

“It’s great to be singing with Mutt again. It’s a vocal blend we’ve shared for many years, and having Tommy’s voice in the mix adds another dimension.

‘Thunder Love’ is pure fun rock ‘n’ roll — loud, thunderous guitars, huge drum sounds, and punchy vocals.

Tommy’s got a powerful rock voice, but what really stands out is how versatile he is. He can shape his voice to fit whatever a song needs, and that’s a rare gift. He brings incredible energy to everything he does, which makes him so easy to collaborate with. He and Mutt share the same philosophy: it’s all about the vibe. When you get that right, everything else falls into place, and I think that’s a big part of what makes Crossbone Skully unique.

Crossbone Skully are bringing back the sound and spirit of classic rock. You just don’t see many videos like this anymore — it’s becoming a lost art, and being part of something that celebrates that has been a lot of fun.”

    Henriksen added:

“Phil is one of my heroes as a guitarist, singer and songwriter so to bring Phil and Mutt together again for the track ‘Thunder Love’ was a really special moment for me, their generosity and influence made this dream a reality.

Making records with Mutt Lange has been the greatest lesson of my life. I have infinite respect and love for Mutt. I can never thank him enough for his belief, generosity, and friendship. I’ll carry it with me forever.”

“‘NORTH‘ is a salute to the ice-cold North—its darkness, its harsh winters and the defiance of the people shaped by them. At its core, it’s a song about Northern perseverance and ‘The Northern Way’: that stubborn, self-reliant spirit that has driven SHINING from the beginning.”

Drummer Will Goodroad commented on the single:

“People today are constantly performing for one another, competing for a place in social hierarchy. We slowly reshape ourselves, cutting away parts of who we are to gain acceptance and validation. Over time, we lose touch with our passions, forget why we do what we do, and stop recognizing who we really are – or what we truly believe, if anything at all. ‘Cold’ is about recognizing that reality and choosing to indulge in it anyway.”

Vocalist/guitarist Jack Underkofler also added the following about the album:

“We wanted to carve out our own piece of territory. I just wanted to swing for the fences with this one. All the things I felt made us, I wanted to see how much deeper I could go with them and try to boil down the essence of the feeling that makes Dead Poet Society who we are.”

  • Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx: “We Do Play 100% Live”

Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx recently addressed the band’s use of backing tracks while responding to a fan on social media. According to him, the group use recordings to enhance their sound, but they still “play 100% live.” Sixx said the following:

“Since we saw Queen using some to help during the song ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ live, we understood that we could bring in elements that we could not do live like orchestras, saxophones, etc., etc. and sync them up with what we are playing and we do play 100% live. And it’s better for the fans and we enjoy being able to do what we did in the Studio live. It’s a win win for us.”

  • Henry Rollins Announces New Memoir “Bait Dog Boy”

Henry Rollins (ex-Black Flag, etc.) has announced a new memoir titled “Bait Dog Boy.” The book will be available on March 2, 2027.

Penguin Random House shared a synopsis:

“A searing memoir of a broken childhood and the hope of escaping it—from the iconic Black Flag frontman and legendary punk musician Henry Rollins

What happens when a child grows up in an almost total vacuum of love? That was the reality for Henry Rollins, pioneering punk frontman of the seminal groups Black Flag and Rollins Band, who came of age in an environment seemingly determined to break him. For the first time, Rollins tells the story he spent most of his life trying to avoid, taking us through his childhood and adolescence—from a volatile Washington, D.C., childhood spent shuffling between indifferent parents, to his encounters with a seemingly endless parade of abusive adults, to his eventual meeting with Ian MacKaye, and their ultimate discovery of punk rock, which would become a lifeline. Rollins tells what it was like to live a life colored by the experience of constantly absorbing pain, like a bait dog.

‘I have no desire to be a survivor,’ Rollins writes. ‘I’d rather accept, absorb, adapt, fight and break that which seeks to break me—to be that which remains.’

Told in Rollins’ unmistakably blunt, brutal, and acerbic voice, Bait Dog Boy is a coming-of-age story with the teeth and truth of a great punk anthem. It’s an unforgettable tale of what it means to not quite fit in anywhere, except on stage: A memoir as dynamic and singular as its subject.”
