  • Vulvodynia Officially Part Ways With Vocalist Zion Bittenbender

Vulvodynia have officially parted ways with Zion Bittenbender. This news comes after the vocalist previously stepped away from the band in the wake of sexual assault allegations.

    Vulvodynia commented:

“We would like to apologize for the delay in addressing this situation. We took time to step back and carefully consider the appropriate course of action. After serious internal discussion, we have decided to part ways with Zion. We will also no longer be participating in the upcoming US tour with Defeated Sanity.

We take allegations of sexual misconduct extremely seriously. Our priority is maintaining an environment that reflects our values and respects our fans, peers, and the wider community. After careful consideration of the circumstances, we believe this decision is in the best interest of the band moving forward.

We also acknowledge that aspects of how this was initially handled were not managed in the way they should have been, and we sincerely apologize. We will now begin the process of finding a new vocalist. Details regarding auditions will be shared soon. In the meantime, Lwandile will be handling vocal duties for our remaining shows this year.

We appreciate the patience of our fans and remain committed to moving forward with focus and integrity.”

    “Wired” Track Listing:

    01. “Time Waster”
    02. “Wired”
    03. “Deadweight”
    04. “Broken By Design”
    05. “Pick Up The Pieces”
    06. “Embrace”
    07. “Sever”
    08. “The Way I Feel”
    09. “Satisfy”
    10. “Head Alight”
    11. “Longshot”
    12. “Summer’s End”

    Guitarist Alex Henery commented:

“I never thought Basement could sound like this. But in my head, it’s what I’ve always wanted Basement to sound like.”

The first two singles, the title track and “Broken By Design,” can be found below. Vocalist Andrew Fisher added the following about those:

“’Wired’ is about how sometimes it feels that we are set up to feel and behave in certain ways beyond our control. That no matter how hard you try to hide it, eventually it will come out – either by choice or by force. This song was almost lost – a few of us were into it, but it sort of lost traction for a bit. Then one day it cropped back up and we put it at the forefront of our minds and it ended up being one of my favourite songs to perform and record.

‘Broken By Design’ is about giving something your absolute best and realising it’s destined to fail. Getting to the other side of the situation, looking back and deciding to do everything differently and feeling grateful for the opportunity to grow. We’ve all done a lot of work on getting better at talking to each other as friends and as band mates. Sometimes that’s an easy distinction – or rather, not a distinction at all. Other times, the lines are blurred and we lose track of who we are and why we do this. When I’m singing, ‘let’s go back to the start’ I mean to when we did this purely for fun. For an excuse to see each other, to travel, to be creative, to express ourselves through music. We all feel so lucky to be in a position to still get to do this and this album and this song in particular, is us trying to go back to how it should be.”

  • Bodysnatcher Premiere “Violent Obsession” Music Video

Bodysnatcher have premiered a new video for their new song “Violent Obsession.” You can check that out below. The track is from the band’s new album, “Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home,” which will be released on April 10. Guitarist Kyle Carter commented:

“’Violent Obsession’ to me expresses hate for a person to the extreme. It’s about revenge and what you wish you could do to this person who’s abused you, or taken advantage of you. It’s about obsessively living in that headspace of hatred and wanting them to feel how they made you feel.”

  • Split Chain Premiere “sylvia (i won’t belong to you)” Video

Split Chain have premiered a new video for their new song “sylvia (i won’t belong to you).” Vocalist Bert Martinez-Cowles commented on the single:

“’sylvia’ was written at a very odd time for us. After finishing one of the busiest and best years of our lives, from our first time in the US to dropping our debut album, it was the first time we had a bit of time to ourselves. We were back in the ‘real world,’ taking everything in that we’ve missed and truly realised why we do this in the first place. The world is horrible, hate is everywhere and living just feels like a constant struggle, with the people in control who act like it’s a game. It was a ‘Truman Show’ feeling that we couldn’t shake, which is where the song was created from, with the name being based on the character Sylvia. Its a song about how it feels that we’re living in this made up, messed up world and the wanting to not be a part of it and escape to a better place, a different time.”

  • Held. (Coheed And Cambria, The Sleeping) Premiere “CONSTANT TENSION” Music Video

Held., the project featuring Coheed And Cambria’s Josh Eppard and The Sleeping’s Douglas Robinson and Sal Mignaro, have premiered a new video for their new song “CONSTANT TENSION.” This track is from the band’s new album, “GREY,” which will be released on May 15.

    Robinson commented:

“‘CONSTANT TENSION‘ stems from an everlasting battle within myself to embrace who I am via internal reflectio. It’s all of my strengths fighting against all of my weaknesses. There is a ‘constant tension,’ a violent push and pull within my mind every single day. I let myself down so much, to the point where I often feel like I have to somewhat abandon myself and step outside to try and see the bigger picture, but the hurt inside of me pulls me back into my own thoughts.

I go completely blank to try and focus, which oddly enough resorts to more tension, and more clouded thoughts. It feels like an endless cycle. The lyrics to ‘CONSTANT TENSION’ mirror all of this.”
