• Nancy Wilson: “We Need To Make One More Heart Album”

During a recent appearance on Andy Frasco’s World Saving Podcast, Heart’s Nancy Wilson discussed the possibility of a new album. She says she would like to do one more record with the group.

    Wilson said the following:

“I go through these phases. Like right now I’m in a phase of really feeling like creating some new songs. And I’ve got songs going on. But I feel like this is the perfect time for HEART — like this year, next year — to make a victory lap out of our legacy. So I figure we need to make one more HEART album. And especially with these players that we have in the lineup right now in this band. We’re just really excited to play together, and there’s no kind of limits on what we could kind of pull off as musicians. So I’ve got a few songs, and Ann’s [Wilson, HEART singer and Nancy’s sister] working with those guys in her side band right now writing other songs. But I think I’m gonna want to make the last HEART album and do the victory lap and make 2027 mainly about the HEART film, the HEART documentary.”

She went on to discuss the band’s biopic:

“We’ve got a big movie, and we’ve got a final draft soon to read that Carrie Brownstein, actually, [is working on] — she did ‘Portlandia’, of SLEATER-KINNEY fame — she’s a buddy and she’s a good writer too. And we’ve been working mainly with her… And it’s so weird too, ’cause you kind of have to go, well, okay, who would be the actor that plays you?”

“For me, I mean, somebody like Elle Fanning. She’s great. Florence Pugh would make an incredible Ann Wilson, I think. I don’t know. It’s just fun to think about anyway.”

She then circled back when asked if it’s “weird” to “think of a victory lap”:

“Kind of, but then as the grandchildren start arriving, [it’s] not as crazy to think about doing less of the big rock tour. I mean, it’s entirely exhausting to do that travel. And when you’re not quite as young and rubbery as you always were, going through almost 50 years-ish of doing that, you really get paid for the travel on those rock tours. The show itself is the thrill — the million thrills and the glory and that magic thing — and I would do that for free, and I probably will end up doing music somehow for as long as I can live. But the tour part, it’s really rough on you.”

  • Avatar Cut London, UK Show Short Due To Electrical Issues

Avatar’s February 14 show at Exhibition White City in London, UK was cut short due to an electrical issue. The “whole stage became electrified” and two crew members were “severely shocked.”

    Vocalist Johannes Eckerström commented:

“Hello everyone watching, particularly the people of London who came out to see our show tonight. As you heard, we didn’t make it quite to the finish line.

The whole stage became electrified. It burnt up some of our equipment and also shocked — severely shocked — two guys in our crew.

We have deemed this venue not safe to perform in any longer. Like, we could get hurt, we we’re simply lucky. The crew guys are fine now, so also lucky. But this is not a safe place to be for you or for us, so how about a rain check?

We want to figure out what we can do to come back as soon as we can and do you right London. I think both you and us deserve that very much.

Thank you for an amazing hour-plus at least, it was supposed to be a bit longer. You were amazing, we were pretty amazing too. Let’s find an amazing place to finish this.”

During a recent interview with Spiral Out, Tool drummer Danny Carey offered an update on the band’s new album. According him, the group are hoping to release the effort in 2027. Notably, he also revealed that they are in talks regarding a possible residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.

Carey said the following about new music:

He also discussed the Sphere when the interviewer described the band’s shows as cinematic:

“Yeah, we’re very much into that. We’re hoping when we release the new record, maybe do a stint at the Sphere ’cause I think we’re the perfect band for that. We’ve been talking to those guys.”

    He added:

“The preparation is pretty intense to get everything up and everything. It’s a very expensive endeavor, and it takes a while to get into the black. I think [you have to play] a few shows before you make any money.”

He also confirmed that he visited the Sphere:

“Yeah. Well, I just took a tour of it. I haven’t actually seen a full-on show, but they took [us around the venue] to show it off. It’s incredible, man. I almost got vertigo [just looking around it].”

  • Dee Snider On Cancelled Twisted Sister Tour: “I Don’t Want You To See Me Up There Being Less Than You Expect Me To Be”

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has shared a new video regarding the recent cancellation of the band’s 50th anniversary shows. According to him, he doesn’t “want [fans] to see [him] up there being less than [they] expect [him] to be.”

    Snider said the following:

“Hey, everybody. It’s me, Dee Snider, and I’m not dying. No, not never — I mean, we’re all dying, but not immediately.

My announcement about canceling the tour for health reasons, problems with my heart, arthritis, things like that, the rumors have run wild that I am on my deathbed. I am not. I just can’t do those things that I did in my twenties, thirties, forties, fifties and even sixties. All right? Otherwise, I’m alive and well. I’m enjoying life. I’m here for the ‘House Of Hair’. I’m directing a movie. I’ll be writing things. You won’t see me on the stage kicking ass like I used to because that will mess me up.

[Someone] just told me, ‘Hey, man, could you just go out on stage and lay back?’ No, I can’t do that. That’s not who I am. Look, I can barely do that on the ‘House Of Hair’. So, I had to pull out of TWISTED SISTER. I had to cancel a tour. My apologies for that. And thank you for all the love and care and worry and all that stuff. It was crazy. I mean, the amount of people, the outpouring was beautiful. Thank you very much for cheering me on.

I’m okay. I just can’t do that anymore. And you know what? Truth of the matter is, I don’t want you to see me up there being less than you expect me to be. If you got memories of a great show that I did, that’s what I wanna leave you with, not me standing up there like Willie Nelson. Nothing wrong with Willie — 95 years old in a wheelchair — but you know what I’m saying. I went out rocking. I’m still rocking here. I ain’t stopping. I got a lot of life to live. My dad’s 95 and still kicking, so I’m expecting to be around for a long time, which means the ‘House Of Hair’ will go on forever.

All right. Don’t worry about old Dee. Thank you.”
