Whitechapel To Release New Album “The Valley” In March, Premiere New Song “Brimstone”

Whitechapel have announced that their new album “The Valley” will be released on March 29. The effort focuses on Phil Bozeman’s rough childhood and it takes its name from the part of Hardin Valley near Knoxville, Tennessee where the frontman grew up. The first single “Brimstone” can be heard below:

Bozeman said the following about the album:

“It’s all about me as a child, and some of it is me looking back on that time from the perspective of now. Also, it’s my interpretation of my mom’s struggles and her different personalities. She had a journal that contained very disturbing and sometimes evil writings, and some of her quotes and a lot of that journal is in the lyrics.”

He also added:

“Sound-wise, it’s all over the place. There’s aggression, and then you’re hit with ominous and emotional guitar riffs. It’s mean, but then transfers to soft and inviting. It’s a whirlwind of emotions throughout.”

Guitarist Alex Wade also commented:

“Phil has been upfront in his lyrics in the past about hardships he endured in his life as a child, and I believe with this record we tried to paint a better picture of that. I feel our music is Phil’s release from his past, being able to get it out and speak about it, and hopefully anyone who hears it that may have gone through similar experiences can find some release in it as well.”

DevilDriver’s Dez Fafara Hopes To Have Metallica, Megadeth, Slipknot, Etc. Members Guest On Second Volume Of “Outlaws ‘Til The End”

DevilDriver’s Dez Fafara has taken to Twitter to throw out some names of musicians he hopes to have guest on the second volume of the band’s outlaw country covers album “Outlaws ‘Til The End.” Here’s who made his wish list: Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine and his daughter Electra, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx and X’s John Doe. Some of his followers also threw in some suggestions as well including: Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, Max Cavalera (Soulfly, etc.) and his son Richie (Incite), Clutch’s Neil Fallon, Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Behemoth’s Nergal, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, HELLYEAH’s Chad Gray, and Whitechapel’s Phil Bozeman. Aside from all these, it is probably safe to assume Glenn Danzig and John 5 will make the cut, considering they were supposed to guest on the first volume, but were unable to do so.
