  • Prompts Premiere “Deceiver” Video

Prompts have premiered a new video for their new song “Deceiver.” The band commented:

“What’s considered the ‘right answer’ in Japan isn’t always the same in Korea. And these ideas of ‘normal’ change depending on the country or region. It can be confusing for a lot of people. But honestly, there’s no universal definition of what’s truly ‘right’, that’s why we believe it’s not worth letting all that noise shape who you are.”

  • Sunn O))) Sign With Sub Pop, Surprise Release New EP

Sunn O))) have just signed a new deal with Sub Pop. With this news, the band have also released a new three-track EP. The effort can also be pre-ordered on gold and clear vinyl.

    Here’s the track listing:

    01. “Eternity’s Pillars”
    02. “Raise the Chalice”
    03. “Reverential”

    The group commented

“Eternity’s Pillars b/w Raise the Chalice & Reverential is sunn O)))’s premier work on the maxi 12” medium for Sub Pop.

It consists of three brand new tracks created and performed by the iconic duo of Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson and co-produced by sunn O))) and Brad Wood. Brad Wood recorded the material at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville and Sea Grass in Los Angeles in 2025. The tracks on this maxi 12” are the first official sunn O))) studio recordings to feature only the original core duo on heavily saturated electric guitars and synthesis.

sunn O))) gave extreme focus and care to each step and aspect of the recording, each tone and level of saturation, each gain stage and speaker, each arrangement and harmonic. The Pacific Northwest forest is our guide.

‘Eternity’s Pillars’ is named for the mid-1980s television program created and hosted by jazz visionary and spiritual guru Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda, focusing on her incessant belief in music’s capacity to attain spiritual transcendence. ‘Raise the Chalice’ is named for a rallying cry often uttered by Northwest legend Ron Guardipee throughout the mid-1990s. ‘Reverential’ equally pays respect and sends loud praise to those who came before us with the heaviest burdens, expressions with music and art being the materials of an antiphon.

The front cover of the maxi 12” depicts the duo in the woods northeast of Seattle, through the lens of Charles Peterson.”

  • Cavalera Partner With “Street Fighter 6” For New Song “Piledriver”

Cavalera, the project featuring former Sepultura members Max and Iggor Cavalera, have partnered with “Street Fighter 6” for a new song titled “Piledriver.” The track was inspired by Zangief and his “Outfit 4” DLC, which will launch on October 15. New gear with the Cavalera logo will be available as well. “Street Fighter” director Takayuki Nakayama commented:

“Having grown up listening to Sepultura, Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy, I never imagined that one day I would work with heroes like Max and Iggor. When I found out they had accepted the job — bands I loved since my school days — our sound team, made up of other metal lovers, and I went absolutely wild with joy. They showed us their raw and unique worldview in ‘Morbid Visions‘, made history with ‘Chaos A.D.‘, collaborated with my equally beloved Mike Patton on ‘Roots‘ (my favorite album) and gave me a lot of motivation when I heard ‘Back To The Primitive‘, by Soulfly. What I’m trying to say is that I am truly and deeply grateful! Thank you.”

  • Iron Maiden Announce 40th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue Of “Live After Death”

Iron Maiden will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of “Live After Death” with a new vinyl pressing of the live album. The effort will be available on November 28 in most territories and December 12 in the U.S. Pre-orders can be found HERE.

    The band commented:

“‘Live After Death’ was released 40 years ago today

We’re happy to announce a brand new 2 LP collectors edition colour vinyl of the legendary live album!

With the original gatefold sleeve artwork, one blue and one yellow 140g vinyl, a replica ‘World Slavery Tour’ programme, this album also offers the original 8-page booklet with an additional essay: ‘Rime And Punishment: Celebrating 40 Years Of Live After Death,’ featuring interviews with Steve, Nicko, Rod, and album artwork designer Derek Riggs.

As Steve explains of the time, “We were touring our arses off. It was literally just, ‘record, tour, record, tour’ – we didn’t stop. Rod was cracking the old whip, and that was the right thing to do. I mean, we were totally up for it, it’s not like we were doing stuff that we didn’t want to do. You think you’re invincible – ‘Yeah, we’ll take that on, no problem.’ That’s the way to crack it. It’s the only way for a band like us because we had no radio play whatsoever back then.”

To be released on 28 November everywhere, and 12 December for USA.

Head to the link in latest story or go to IronMaiden.lnk.to/LiveAfterDeath40 to preorder your copy”

  • Blood Vulture Share Video For “Burn for It” Featuring Shadows Fall’s Brian Fair

Blood Vulture, the project featuring “Two Minutes To Late Night” host Jordan Olds, have premiered a new video for their song “Burn for It.” The track, which features Brian Fair (Shadows Fall), is from the band’s latest album “Die Close.”

    Olds commented:

“The video is a homage to one of my favorite movies, ‘Possession.’ Almost every shot in the video is a recreation of a scene from the movie paced to the music. For decades, it was so difficult to actually watch the movie. It was banned in the US when it originally came out and then it wasn’t allowed on streaming for a long time. Now thanks to Kino Lorber and Metrograph, there’s tons of screenings and streaming services — including the free ones from the library — showing the full version. I consider it to be one of the great masterpieces in alternative cinema with two of the best on screen performances of all time and my favorite camera work ever.

This whole idea was basically a Trojan horse to get people excited about that movie again. I also couldn’t be more grateful to my friend Alexis Krauss for trusting me with this idea and giving so much time and energy to this. It takes a special kind of artist and a special kind of talent to find a way to be fully compelling for five entire minutes by themselves and Alexis is that kind of special.”
