  • Limp Bizkit Bassist Sam Rivers Passes Away

Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers has sadly passed away at the age of 48. The band confirmed the news via Instagram.

    The group said the following:

“💔 In Loving Memory of Our Brother, Sam Rivers 💔

    Today we lost our brother.
    Our bandmate.
    Our heartbeat.

Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic.
The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.

From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced. His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous.

We shared so many moments — wild ones, quiet ones, beautiful ones — and every one of them meant more because Sam was there.

He was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human.
    A true legend of legends.
And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory.

    We love you, Sam.
We’ll carry you with us, always.

    Rest easy, brother.
    Your music never ends.

    — Fred, Wes, John & DJ Lethal ❤️”

    DJ Lethal also added:

“We love you Sam rivers. Please respect the family’s privacy at this moment. 🕊️ give Sam his flowers and play Sam rivers basslines all day ! We are in shock. Rest in power my brother ! You will live on through your music and the lives you helped save with your music , charity work and friendships. We are heartbroken 💔 enjoy every millisecond of life. It’s not guaranteed ✌️”

  • Slipknot File Lawsuit Against Slipknot.com Cybersquatter

According to Billboard, Slipknot have filed a lawsuit against the owner of slipknot.com. The band, who operate under slipknot1.com, accused the cybersquatter of using pay-for-click advertising that directs fans to counterfeit merch.

The complaint was made under the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act in an effort to reclaim the domain, which has been held by the user since 2001. The suit also includes allegations of trademark infringement and unfair competition. The band are seeking financial damages and an injunction from a judge to gain control of the domain.

The group’s lawyer Craig Reilly commented:

“The domain name was registered in an effort to profit off of plaintiff’s goodwill and to trick unsuspecting visitors — under the impression they are visiting a website owned, operated or affiliated with plaintiff — into clicking on web searches and other sponsored links. A fan of plaintiff or someone who otherwise wanted to purchase authorized Slipknot merchandise would undoubtedly visit the slipknot.com website assuming it belonged to plaintiff and then purchase the slipknot merchandise linked to on the site, causing damages to plaintiff.”

The entire EP came together with close friends, capturing the same chaos and energy as the original while blending in my favorite elements of electronic music.”
