  • Butcher Babies Premiere “Lost In Your Touch” Video

Butcher Babies have released a new song titled “Lost In Your Touch.” The track was produced by Judge & Jury Records co-founder Howard Benson and a new video for it can be found below:

    Vocalist Heidi Shepherd commented:

“10 years ago, I watched the love of my life fall in love with someone else. I watched him fill my shoes with another girl’s touch. She slowly took my place in the late-night phone calls and early morning coffee. He replaced ‘us’ with her name on his lips. I bent between this new reality and the past that my body and heart so desperately wanted back.

As I watched this unfold, I couldn’t help but wonder if they shared the same, deep emotional bond we once shared, and if ‘she gets lost in his touch like I do. This song brings me back to those heartbreaking moments alone; reflecting, growing, and finding myself again. I don’t take a love like that for granted now. It’s special, and deserves to be put on a pedestal.

Recording this song with Howard was really special. From the get-go, he understood the emotion and story behind the lyrics. We both knew this song was going to be special, and treated it with the emotional sensitivity needed to not just hear the song, but to feel it.”

    Benson added:

“I gravitated to this song immediately because of the vulnerability of the lyrics. To me, as a producer, if I can get lyrics like this that I know the vocalist will deliver — like Heidi delivers the emotions in this song — that’s so critical to the track connecting.”

  • Vulvodynia Officially Part Ways With Vocalist Zion Bittenbender

Vulvodynia have officially parted ways with Zion Bittenbender. This news comes after the vocalist previously stepped away from the band in the wake of sexual assault allegations.

    Vulvodynia commented:

“We would like to apologize for the delay in addressing this situation. We took time to step back and carefully consider the appropriate course of action. After serious internal discussion, we have decided to part ways with Zion. We will also no longer be participating in the upcoming US tour with Defeated Sanity.

We take allegations of sexual misconduct extremely seriously. Our priority is maintaining an environment that reflects our values and respects our fans, peers, and the wider community. After careful consideration of the circumstances, we believe this decision is in the best interest of the band moving forward.

We also acknowledge that aspects of how this was initially handled were not managed in the way they should have been, and we sincerely apologize. We will now begin the process of finding a new vocalist. Details regarding auditions will be shared soon. In the meantime, Lwandile will be handling vocal duties for our remaining shows this year.

We appreciate the patience of our fans and remain committed to moving forward with focus and integrity.”

    02. “Wired”

    05. “Pick Up The Pieces”
    06. “Embrace”
    07. “Sever”
    08. “The Way I Feel”
    09. “Satisfy”
    10. “Head Alight”
    11. “Longshot”
    12. “Summer’s End”

    Guitarist Alex Henery commented:

“I never thought Basement could sound like this. But in my head, it’s what I’ve always wanted Basement to sound like.”

The first two singles, the title track and “Broken By Design,” can be found below. Vocalist Andrew Fisher added the following about those:

“’Wired’ is about how sometimes it feels that we are set up to feel and behave in certain ways beyond our control. That no matter how hard you try to hide it, eventually it will come out – either by choice or by force. This song was almost lost – a few of us were into it, but it sort of lost traction for a bit. Then one day it cropped back up and we put it at the forefront of our minds and it ended up being one of my favourite songs to perform and record.

‘Broken By Design’ is about giving something your absolute best and realising it’s destined to fail. Getting to the other side of the situation, looking back and deciding to do everything differently and feeling grateful for the opportunity to grow. We’ve all done a lot of work on getting better at talking to each other as friends and as band mates. Sometimes that’s an easy distinction – or rather, not a distinction at all. Other times, the lines are blurred and we lose track of who we are and why we do this. When I’m singing, ‘let’s go back to the start’ I mean to when we did this purely for fun. For an excuse to see each other, to travel, to be creative, to express ourselves through music. We all feel so lucky to be in a position to still get to do this and this album and this song in particular, is us trying to go back to how it should be.”

  • Bodysnatcher Premiere “Violent Obsession” Music Video

Bodysnatcher have premiered a new video for their new song “Violent Obsession.” You can check that out below. The track is from the band’s new album, “Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home,” which will be released on April 10. Guitarist Kyle Carter commented:

“’Violent Obsession’ to me expresses hate for a person to the extreme. It’s about revenge and what you wish you could do to this person who’s abused you, or taken advantage of you. It’s about obsessively living in that headspace of hatred and wanting them to feel how they made you feel.”
