Northlane To Stream “Live At The Roundhouse” Show Next Month

Northlane will be streaming their October 11, 2019 show at The Roundhouse in Sydney, Australia on August 21-22 via Netgigs. Tickets for the screenings will be available at northlaneband.com.

Guitarist Josh Smith commented:

“One of the most incredible, moving moments we’ve ever had on stage for me was when we played ‘Sleepless‘ for the first time at our show at the Roundhouse. Knowing what events had transpired not too long before that, and what the song was about I could tell Marcus was struggling when I got up there.

By the time the song had finished he was in tears and he just soldiered on though the rest of the encore like nothing was wrong at all. I could tell on the inside he was just bleeding out. It was one of the bravest moments I’ve ever witnessed.”

The band also added:

“Like everybody on this platform around the world, we really miss live music. Both watching and performing, it’s a life changing and defining passion that runs through our veins.
We’ve always wanted to bring this experience home to you, and right now there is no better time to do that.

If you’ve watched Negative Energy, you’ll know how big of a deal it was to come and sell out the Roundhouse in Sydney on the Alien world tour, after such a difficult time prior to this landmark album coming out. We knew we’d want to revisit this night so we brought in a whole camera crew, captured all the audio and had it pro mixed & mastered. Many of the older songs sound better than they ever did on record.

This will be your ONLY chance to watch this show in it’s entirety. Tickets are $10USD per stream. Not bad for the price of a beer in Sydney. We’ll be live chatting to you during the event too.”

You can get a taste of the performance by watching a live video for “Bloodline” below:

Northlane Premiere “Bloodline” Music Video, Reveal Details For New Album “Alien”

Northlane have premiered a new video for their new song “Bloodline.” This track is from the band’s new album “Alien,” which will be released on August 2.

Marcus Bridge commented:

“I was raised in hell but I made it out. Raised in a place I shouldn’t have been, and no child should have been. But I’ve been able to break free.”

“‘Bloodline‘ was one of the first songs that came about in the writing process for the album. When we were trying to decide what we wanted to write about, we decided early on that we wanted to keep the album pretty personal. I wanted to tell the stories of my upbringing and the ups and downs that come along with that.”

“It talks about that idea of growing up in a broken home despite all odds and what might be expected of someone who grows up like that. You are able to be what people think of you and break out of that spiral, that terrible world. For me, that’s a mix of telling the story simple, but then it also tells some parts of my story in really fine detail.

For example, the second verse goes into a lot of moments that I actually remember growing up and these landmarks — all these things I remember seeing. This song is a perfect way to sum up the album and also be the first toe in the water to be able to tell this story.”

He also added the following about the video, which was directed by Jason Eshraghian:

“We’ve grown as a band together with Jason. He understands the stories we’re trying to tell through our videos. When it came down to the more personal subject, I don’t think it would have been possible to do it with someone we hadn’t worked with before because I don’t know if I would have felt comfortable having someone that we hadn’t worked with before telling this story and someone that doesn’t really know me and know how I want to tell this story.

Jason delivered again, and this video is one of my favorite videos that I have ever done. It goes into some fine detail once again about that environment of growing up around parents who use drugs, violent parents and all that stuff that a lot of people do deal with that maybe don’t feel comfortable talking about. This video is going to make you feel pretty uncomfortable, but I think it’s a story that isn’t really told often enough.”
