Crown The Empire Part Ways With Drummer Brent Taddie

Crown The Empire have parted ways with drummer Brent Taddie. A replacement has yet to be revealed.

The band said the following:

“After many wonderful years of friendship, adventures, and non-stop touring together worldwide, Crown The Empire and Brent Taddie have parted ways. While it is sad for us to see Taddie leave and move on to other things in life, this decision was made amicably between the members as it was understood that people’s interests change over time. To be on a working team, everyone needs to be happy and have the same goals in mind. We wish him nothing but the best in the future with everything he does, and we know he feels the same about us.

2022 will be an exciting time for Crown The Empire and our fans; with so much more new music and touring, you can believe we have everything set up in place to allow for this all to happen without missing a beat. We love you and look forward to seeing you again (all over the world) this year.

Love,

Andy, Hayden, and Brandon Crown The Empire”

Taddie also issued his own statement:

“I would like to officially announce that after 10 amazing years I have decided to not continue forward with Crown the Empire.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, it was the first time in 10 years I had any significant amount of time away from the band. It gave me a chance to reflect and truly decide what I wanted to do with the next chapter of my life.

Crown will always have a giant place in my heart and I will cherish all the memories and everything we have done together. I will always love my brothers, Crown the Empire itself and of course all the fans reading this.

Thanks for an unforgettable 10 years.”

Crown The Empire Premiere “Dancing With The Dead” Music Video

Crown The Empire have released a new single titled “Dancing With The Dead.” You can find an official music video for that track below:

Andy Leo commented:

“‘Dancing With The Dead‘ came about during the rock bottom phase of quarantine. I’d felt like my purpose had been taken, and I had fully melded into the idea of just letting myself rot. I thought that rock bottom had a definite end but it felt as if I could go as low as I’d let myself. There’s a mural of heaven we put up that covers my entire living room wall and I was thinking about the book ‘Paradise Lost‘ where Lucifer said something like ‘I’d rather rule in hell than serve in heaven’ and knew that if I was doomed to be stuck in this loop then I may as well make the most of it. I was chasing after an idea of salvation that I could do nothing to reach so I decided to start building myself outward to make myself the king of the shit hole I had put myself in.”

Hayden Tree added:

“This is the heaviest song we’ve released to date. I remember sitting down and thinking to myself that as a band, we’ve never released a song with zero singing in it. As a musician in the rock world you can sometimes feel like you have to play it safe. These days artists seem to be fearful of stepping out of their comfort zone and doing something other than their norm or what’s trending.

I didn’t want to play it safe anymore. At this point I was listening to a lot of hardcore/metal bands I grew up on which shaped the riff and energy on the track. I remember showing the song to the band and instantly Brandon thought it was too heavy and didn’t feel that it could make it onto an album. I fought him on it because I believed this song could be something special. He finally came around and helped me and Andy write all the lyrics. Once we finished the track, it turned into one of our band’s favorite and craziest songs we’ve ever released.”

Crown The Empire Premiere Music Video For New Song “In Another Life” Featuring Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante

Crown The Empire have released a new song titled “In Another Life.” This track features Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante and an official video for it can be found below:

Crown The Empire’s Andy Leo commented:

“In Another Life” was the first song we wrote while working on our new album in the studio.

The idea initially started because I was talking with a friend of mine about how we both had just gotten out of serious relationships during the pandemic. These relationships that were once comforting and safe now felt confining.

Because of COVID, my life got completely derailed and I was getting very little sleep. My entire identity was so wrapped up in my ability to sing and tour the world that having that taken away from me made me feel like a ghost.

Over the course of the next year I started having crazy dreams and seeing strange things around my house. One night I saw feet running up and down the stairs but brushed it off, telling myself I was just imagining things. But then another night my producer came over and mentioned he saw a girl walking up and down the stairs.

After some research, I found out there had been an actress from the 1920’s who lived in my house. She was a huge partier, slept very few hours, and was even close to the same age as me when she died. I really connected with her story and it inspired me to write this song.

We thought Courtney from Spiritbox would be the perfect fit for a guest feature and she crushed it. We’re so stoked to have her on “In Another Life.”

Courtney LaPlante added:

“I’m excited for you to hear this new song, I’m happy to be a part of it and it’s been stuck in my head for the last four months, now it’s time for it to get stuck in yours!”
