Orgy have pulled out of the remaining dates on their tour with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. Vocalist Jay Gordon issued the following statement:
“I want to let everyone know that Orgy has made the difficult decision to step away from the remaining dates of the RZ/MM tour. Circumstances arose that made continuing no longer workable for us, and although I’m not able to discuss the details, this was not a decision we made lightly. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us and came out to the shows. We have tremendous respect for the all the bands, fans, musicians, and hardworking crews involved, and we look forward to sharing what’s next for Orgy very soon via new music and shows. See ya on the 26th!”
As previously reported, Mastodon are currently facing a lawsuit filed against them by the estate of the late Brent Hinds. That complaint was related to the guitarist’s ownership interests and the use of his likeness following his death. Now, the estate have issued a new statement to Guitar World.
The estate said the following:
“Unfortunately, public discussion has largely focused on Mastodon’s inclusion of Brent’s image in artwork for a new album and has sometimes portrayed the lawsuit as an effort by his family to obtain a windfall. That is not what the case is about.
After Brent was excluded from Mastodon, he sought an accounting, valuation, and orderly separation of interests he held in entities owned by the founding members. He passed away before that process was finished…Brent had not yet received compensation for any of his interests.
More specifically, it relates to whether Brent’s exclusion from the band discontinued his, and now his Estate’s, entitlement to share in Mastodon’s merchandising revenue.
The remaining members maintain that Brent did not participate in Mastodon’s new album, yet the band chose to use a recognizable image of him to market that album and did so without the estate’s consent. This illustrates that Brent remains relevant to Mastodon’s brand even after his exclusion and death.
The estate maintains that the band cannot fairly invoke Brent’s identity when it is commercially useful, while simultaneously denying the continuing relevance of his contributions when accounting for his interests.”
Notably, Mastodon previously said they “strongly deny allegations of ill intent on [their] part.”
Ozzfest have started teasing a 2027 event in the U.S. More details will be revealed soon. This news comes after organizers confirmed that the festival would be coming to Villa Park in Birmingham, UK next year.
Nevermore have announced a 2027 European/UK tour. Rivers Of Nihil and Urne will open.

Bassist Justin Smolian continued:
“‘Catch My Butterfly’ shows the width of what we can do as musicians and songwriters. We’re no one-trick pony.”
The first two singles, “Lights Out” and “Butterfly,” can be streamed below. Guitarist John Notto said the following about “Lights Out”:
“‘Lights Out’ was the first banger. It’s one of those rare times when I got the solo right on the demo! It’s only one flavor of the album though. There’s so much more.”
LaBelle also added the following about “Butterfly”:
“There are addiction issues in my family. I tried to write from a different perspective — either that of a father to an addicted child or the family member of an addict. In this scenario, you’re so overcome with worry about whether or not your loved one is alive or dead at any given moment. My thought was, ‘If you don’t get high, there’s no way that you’re going to catch this person who is so beautiful in your eyes, but so broken at the same time.’”
During a recent interview with TV War, Megadeth vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine shared his thoughts on the current state of the world. According to him, “the world has changed for the worse, with all the cancel culture, all the hatred that people have.”
Mustaine said the following:
“Well, I think right now, the world has changed for the worse, with all the cancel culture, all the hatred that people have. You used to be able to say stuff in the United States, and now you can’t, unless you’re the people that’s telling everybody else they can’t. The other thing is, the times have just changed. If you sing about politics, for example, and somebody can determine where your political leanings lie, you’ve just halved your audience, because the people who are one party will be for you, and the other party will be against you. And that really sucks. Before, it used to be nobody knew who you voted for. Nobody cared. And now it’s important for the hateful people in the world to find out who people voted for and to expose them for something that’s very private. I think anybody that is a Megadeth fan aren’t of that walk. I don’t think any of our fans are that kind of person who would get joy out of doing shitty things in life. I think our fans know that I came from a terrible upbringing, and that everything I’ve done, I’ve tried to make myself better, and that includes sharing everything that I’ve done with our fans so that they can get better, too.”
He also added:
“At our meet-and-greets every night, I can’t tell you how many times people come up and say, ”In My Darkest Hour’ saved my life’ or something to that degree. I remember one time at a meet-and-greet, this girl came up to us in a wheelchair, and she was missing her legs, and she was a professional classical violinist who was an amazing violinist. And she said, ”Train Of Consequences’ is my song.’ And I thought, ‘Really? That is so weird.’ And she said, ‘No. I lost my legs by a train, so ‘Train Of Consequences’ is my jam.’ And I went, ‘Wow, you never fucking know.’ You never know.”

Obscura have issued a new statement regarding their current legal matters. The band didn’t explain what they were referring to. However, former bassist Alex Weber and former guitarist Christian Münzner previously accused mastermind Steffen Kummerer of stealing material for “A Sonication.”
The group said the following:
“We are issuing this statement to provide clarity to our fans, business partners, promoters, media representatives and the wider OBSCURA community regarding a number of legal matters.
Since February 2026, criminal complaints and applications for prosecution have been filed in Germany concerning several individuals in connection with publications and conduct which we consider to contain defamatory, insulting, factually inaccurate or otherwise potentially unlawful content.
In parallel, civil legal steps are also being pursued in relation to the losses and other legal claims arising from these matters.
For the avoidance of doubt, these matters do not concern a single incident. The material submitted to the relevant authorities relates to publications and conduct dating from 2015 to the present day, including disputed factual allegations concerning OBSCURA and its members, copyright and intellectual property matters, the publication of personal information, and other conduct which we have asked the competent authorities to examine under German law.
The consequences have extended beyond OBSCURA itself. Several international companies and professional partners have also been affected, including companies which have reported receiving threats or other forms of improper pressure in connection with these matters. Some have suffered significant financial losses and are providing relevant information and supporting documentation to the competent authorities.
The public allegations have also had practical consequences for our international activities, including significant difficulties in obtaining the necessary visas for performances in China. We have submitted supporting documentation and relevant evidence and will continue to cooperate fully with the competent authorities.
We respectfully ask our fans, media representatives, business partners and fellow musicians not to contribute to speculation, personal attacks or further public disputes concerning these matters. We believe they should be dealt with through the established legal process.
Please do not mistake allegations published online for established facts.
We will therefore refrain from making further public statements regarding the substance of these matters whilst the relevant legal processes are ongoing.
Sol Invicto (Deftones, Cypress Hill, etc.) have shared a new song titled “Galactic Glitch.” The track was released as part of the band’s “Vault Of Shadows” series. Richie Londres commented:
“Stumbled on a collection of short outtakes from a few tracks Stephen recorded in a session from 2018, just various leads and sound fx, took these and blended and meshed them up together. Recently started working with a very talented UK drummer called Luke Shenton, had Luke run a full live take on this one, with some minor editing at my end but otherwise kept it natural. Didn’t really give too much attention to mixing this one, just worked on the sounds individually and balanced them out as I wanted it to keep it rough.”
