  • Black Veil Brides Recruit Machine Head’s Robb Flynn For New Song “Revenger”

Black Veil Brides have premiered a new song titled “Revenger.” The track, which features Machine Head’s Robb Flynn, is from the band’s new album “Vindicate,” which will be released on May 8.

    Frontman Andy Biersack commented:

“I have always been interested in the sort of ethical dilemma that we have culturally of cheering for justice. I thought it would be an interesting exercise to write lyrics from the perspective of someone who is trying to seek out the ultimate form of justice.

Because I was writing from someone else’s voice, this felt like the kind of song that would be best served by having someone else’s voice on the song. So, we brought in Robb Flynn of Machine Head. The reason he came to mind first was of course his voice, tonality and style I thought was perfect for this. He is also someone who was one of the first real defenders of Black Veil Brides. In the early days when we were getting absolutely shit on by every other metal band, Robb Flynn and Machine Head stood up for us and said positive things about us and has maintained that for years and years.

I think it’s one of my favorite songs on the record.”

Notably, Biersack has also released a new book based on “Revenger.” Here’s a synopsis:

“Known only as The Revenger, he punishes the unforgivable and dismantles a sprawling criminal empire known as The Syndicate. But as he descends deeper into his crusade, The Revenger uncovers a web of betrayal that ties directly into his own fractured past.

Blending the brooding aesthetic of classic noir with the visceral intensity of horror and revenge thrillers, Revenger interrogates guilt, corruption, and the thin line between hero and monster. This chilling, relentless tale announces a bold new voice in Horror Noir—a book destined to captivate fans of vengeance-driven stories and cinematic darkness.”

  • Dimmu Borgir Premiere “Ascent” Music Video

Dimmu Borgir have premiered a new video for their new song “Ascent.” You can check that out below. The track is from the band’s new album, “Grand Serpent Rising,” which will be released on May 22.

    Shagrath commented:

“Musically, ‘Ascent‘ is more ferocious and direct than the first single, ‘Ulvgjeld & Blodsødel.’ Together, the two tracks showcase the musical scope of the album in a great way. From the outset, we’ve said that ‘Grand Serpent Rising‘ stands as one of our most diverse records to date, and these songs underline exactly that.”

    Silenoz added:

“‘Ascent‘ is about the grand serpent rising through your spinal cord. It is not a pretty experience but it is a necessary one – in order to reach higher consciousness and levels of understanding. It’s a voyage of transformation and surrender.”

The band also shared a Friedrich Nietzsche quote:

“Only he who knows fear but overcomes it can be fearless; he who sees the abyss with pride. He who sees the abyss with eagle eyes; he who grasps the abyss with eagle claws; he is courageous.”

    06. “In Full Color“
    07. “Days You Run To“
    08. “Cool Guy“
    09. “Moving Forward“
    10. “Bring On The Psychics“

    Vocalist/guitarist Walter Schreifels commented:

“For this album, I was going back to a lot of my earlier influences about [Youth Of Today‘s] ‘Break Down The Walls’ or [Gorilla Biscuits‘] ‘Start Today.’ Regardless of whether you’re into hardcore or youth crew, they’re really cool records because they’re speaking to the time and providing possible paths to a better future … with mosh parts. That’s the energy that I wanted to bring to this.”

The first two singles, “Get To It” and “Regenerate,” can be found below. Schreifels also had the following to say about those tracks:

“It’s tough to talk about your own music and what it means, not only because I sometimes don’t understand it myself but in a way it robs the listener of their own interpretation. So if you don’t want that, read no further. Otherwise, with ‘Get To It‘ and ‘Regenerate‘ we wanted to do something high-energy and straightforward with a positive feeling. ‘Get To It‘ is about ‘getting to it’, poking holes in the excuses for standing still. Procrastination is something I’ve struggled with my whole life so I’m always looking for a new mantra to help overcome my tendency to put things off.”

‘Regenerate‘ is about finding new paths forward. It’s a theme I think we all return to. No matter how well you play it, life will keep taking things away from you. It sucks but this is how we learn and grow as people, so it might be we’re living the most when faced with having to get back up from a hard hit.”
