Chuck Billy (Testament) said the following:

“It’s finally happening!!!! All of us have spoken over the years of how killer it would be to tour together and bring Bay Area Thrash Metal across the world and we are starting in Europe. I’m sure I can speak for all three bands in saying that we are proud of where we all came from and we are still delivering some of the best thrash metal we can to the fans. Be ready for the Bay Area Strikes Back Tour 2020.”

Gary Holt (Exodus) added:

“I am fired up to FINALLY return to Europe with Exodus! Along with our Bay Area friends Testament and Death Angel! An epic tour for the ages! Looking forward to crushing everyone Bay Area style! See you there!!! I cannot wait!”

Rob Cavestany (Death Angel) also commented:

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce our upcoming tour with Testament and Exodus! Bay Area Thrash Attack in full force! All three bands have been close friends for decades and our mutual respect is of the highest level. That said, we will surely push each other to go beyond expectations each and every night. This is a first – the three of us have never toured together in the same package… it’s about time! See you in the pit!”

Exodus To Perform At San Diego Comic-Con International

Exodus have announced that they will be performing at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International on July 18. The special “Bonded By Con” show will take place at the House of Blues and it will serve as Nuclear Blast’s official Comic-Con Kick-Off Party. Steve “Zetro” Souza commented:

“It’s our honor to destroy the House of Blues San Diego for Comic-Con. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the fans of horror, sci-fi and pop culture, as well as the Exodus fans who always come out to get in the pit and do the Toxic Waltz!! Comic-Con will never be the same!!”

Exodus To Release 1984 Live Recording Of “No Love” On 7″ Vinyl

Earlier this year, Exodus released a live recording of “No Love” from the 1984 Day In The Dirt festival in Berkeley, CA to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Now, the group have announced that the track will be receiving a 7″ vinyl pressing on July 26. The effort, which can be pre-ordered HERE, will also come with a demo of “Death Row” on the b-side.

Gary Holt On New Exodus Material: “It Should Be Illegal, It’s So Heavy”

During a recent interview with Metal Casino, Gary Holt offered an update on the new Exodus album. He said the following:

“I’ve been writing the new album for a long time, Tom Hunting and I. And we’re just taking our time. We’re in no hurry. It’s been four years, and if it takes two more, we’re gonna spend the time and do it right. The new material is just savage. It should be illegal, it’s so heavy. It’s fucking criminal. Brutal — fast as fuck.”

Exodus Celebrate 40th Anniversary By Releasing 1984 Live Recording Of “No Love”

Exodus are celebrating their 40th anniversary by releasing a live recording of “No Love” from the 1984 Day In The Dirt festival in Berkeley, CA. Gary Holt commented:

“‘Day In The Dirt‘ was almost like the Bay Area thrash metal Woodstock, our own underground version on the legendary Day On The Green shows we all attended so many times. What happened that day at Aquatic Park in Berkeley has gone down in Bay Area lore as an epic day for the underground Thrash scene. The brainchild of the late great Wes Robinson, we were fortunate to have been a key part of such a great show. It was Rick Hunolt‘s second Exodus show as well I believe!”

Gary Holt Says Exodus Have “A Massive Fucking Catalog Of Riffs And Songs” For Next Album

During a recent episode of Loudwire‘s “Gear Factor”, Gary Holt offered an update on the new Exodus album. He said the following:

“I’ve been writing new Exodus material for like months now, close to a year now and we’ve got a massive fucking catalog of riffs and songs. Tom Hunting and I are just kind of getting together when I’m home and working on new stuff. We’re taking our time. We’re not in any hurry. We’re going to make sure it’s a fucking earthshaking moment when the album’s due.”

Exodus Planning To Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary With A San Francisco Residency

It looks like Exodus will be celebrating their 40th anniversary with a residency in their hometown of San Francisco. Steve “Zetro” Souza told Hungary’s Impact metal channel the following about that:

“I think that we’re gonna do something in San Francisco next year; we’re gonna do a residency there, back at home, for 40 years. We’re talking about it right now. Maybe three or four nights at a certain place. We played there last year two nights, called The Chapel. Probably bring old members up — that sort of thing — and see what happens. It’s in the talks; [it’s] definitely in the works right now.”
