Gary Holt (Exodus) Officially Tests Positive For COVID-19

Gary Holt (Exodus, Slayer) has officially tested positive for COVID-19 after previously revealing that he was exhibiting symptoms on March 18. However, he has since recovered. Holt said the following in a deleted Instagram post:

“So I finally received my test results back and positive it was. Lisa’s came back negative, and it’s been long enough since my symptoms that I am officially in the clear to do the only things I’m allowed, like buy my own groceries! I feel great, made it through the tougher moments, and my health feels 100 percent normal. Thanks to everyone who had wished us well. Now it’s time to start working on some new Exodus riffs while I’m still basically stuck in my house!”

Gary Holt (Exodus) Still Waiting For COVID-19 Test Results

On March 18, Gary Holt (Exodus, Slayer) revealed that he was exhibiting “all the symptoms” of COVID-19. However, he has since offered a follow-up saying that he still hasn’t got his test results back. Holt said the following:

“Well, if I’m gonna be locked away waiting for test results for COVID 19, there’s no one on earth I’d rather be in quarantine with than my better half @lisaholt777 ! Feeling human again, still no test results yet( hopefully tomorrow!) but I’m not feeling sick anymore. Lost 16 pounds. And not the way I would prefer! But I’ve laughed a ton the last couple of days while binge watching stupid shit with my wife! Her and I are what we call ‘tuned in’, we get the same jokes and laugh at the same shit! Now if I could just get these fucking test results and figure out when I will get to see the kids and grandkids!!”

Steve “Zetro” Souza (Exodus) On Will Carroll (Death Angel): “I Heard He’s Doing A Lot Better, But The News Is Very Vague”

Upon returning from “The Bay Strikes Back” tour in Europe, Testament’s Chuck Billy tested positive for COVID-19, Exodus’ Gary Holt started exhibiting symptoms of the disease, and Death Angel’s Will Carroll ended up in the hospital. Now, Exodus’ Steve “Zetro” Souza has offered an update on all of his peers in the below video:

Souza said the following:

“You’ve gotta understand that [we were] meeting fans and [we were] meeting different people and [we were] all using the same facilities and the same catering and [we were] all around each other constantly, so it makes good sense why so many people from the tour caught it”

He went on to say that he personally feels “great”:

“If I have [the disease], I don’t have any symptoms of it. I don’t feel bad at all. I am sleeping really well. I feel strong as an ox. I wish the gyms weren’t closed; I’d be there every day, unfortunately.

“The only one from our camp who seems to be sick is Gary, who showed signs of it. But his test won’t come back for quite some time now — seven to 10 days, I believe. Why that is, I don’t know. But him and his wife were tested. Now, I spoke to him this morning, and he feels better, although he still has a little bit of the symptoms sometimes, but he says he feels much better on that.

“Obviously, everybody knows, yesterday, Chuck Billy and his wife Tiffany had went on the Internet and told everybody that they have contracted it as well, which means now more people, it looks like. And I believe there’s two of their techs in their camp, that worked for them, have contracted it as well.

“I don’t even know if Will [has tested] positive. Will Carroll is very sick. He’s in the ICU right now. I heard he’s doing a lot better, but the news is very vague.

“We’re doing all right in the EXODUS camp. Really, Gary’s the only one that’s sick as far as the techs. And the rest of the band, everybody’s doing good. A couple of guys in DEATH ANGEL are not feeling too well but getting better. Chuck and his wife and a couple of their techs not feeling too well, but they’re getting better. So just keep your fingers crossed.”

Gary Holt (Exodus) On Will Carroll (Death Angel): “He Is Very Ill”

Now, Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, who previously said that he was exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, has confirmed the sad news:

“I remained quiet on this earlier, not wanting to say anything until I was certain it had become public knowledge, but Will Carroll, @bleedingpriest , is in need of some massive positive vibes. Me, I appreciate all the warm wishes I’ve gotten, but I’m sick, nothing more, Will is in the ICU. WAY worse that anything I’m dealing with, by a long shot. Not even close. He is very ill. There are several of us that have symptoms and are waiting for test results. Will needs some healing vibes from everyone. Here we are recreating the Scorpions pyramid with @bonsloth Get well Will👊🏻❤️👊🏻”

Below is the official statement in English. We are sorry we are missing you Italy. The rest of the tour is still on!! Hope to see you soon!! +++ OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE +++ Following the order signed by the President of the Lombardy Region, we are forced to suspend all the events scheduled at the Trezzo Live Club. It is a precautionary measure valid unless corrections are made until 1 March 2020. We will shortly communicate the recovery date and the refund modalities. We want to clarify to all those who have followed us for years and also to those who have never come to us, who we have tried in all ways, expected and hoped with you, to be able to go ahead with our events and provide you with services and offer for which you have always appreciated us. The cancellation of an event causes economic damage and serious inconvenience to everyone, especially you and the public, who often make sacrifices in terms of time and money to make sure you participate in an event or concert of the band you love: by booking travel, accommodation , taking leave and vacation days. It is economic damage also for the club, obviously, for the intermediary agencies, for the companies and workers involved, up to the artists themselves. They are therefore choices that must be carefully considered, in order to also evaluate possible recoveries in the case of international tours in particular. Regarding the epidemic situation, our personal conviction is that the infection does not stop by stopping only the entertainment, sport and culture, instead leaving free access to shopping centers, supermarkets, shops, banks, public transport and offices. It is a virus that has reached every corner of the globe and is transmitted even just by walking, but which fortunately has a very limited incidence of danger. If you want to tackle the problem seriously, healthcare must be structured above all to treat serious cases. We hope to see you all as soon as possible with more and more desire to be and have fun.

Gary Holt Hoping To Release New Exodus Album In Late 2020

During a recent interview with Kaaos TV, Gary Holt talked a bit about Exodus’ new album plans. The guitarist said that he is hoping to release the record late this year.

Holt said the following:

“We’ll be in the studio hopefully this summer. We’re staying home this summer, except for one show at the Dynamo festival [in the Netherlands]. We’re not doing a European summer festival tour or nothing, and we’re just gonna work on the new record. And it’s fucking heavy. [Laughs] It’s so heavy. [Laughs]”

He went on to say that he has “a lot of stuff” written for Exodus’ next album:

“I never stop writing. I’ve got enough riffs for five albums right now. I’ll keep writing right up till we start recording.”

He also had the following to say about release plans:

“I hope to have it out this year — like late in the year. We’ll see how the scheduling goes and all that.”
