“We chose ‘Tiger Baby‘ for the first single from our new record because it’s kind of like the everything bagel of songs from the session. It’s heavy and crazy and chaotic but also very catchy and hooky which is very much what the entire record sounds like all baked into one song.”

  • Cam Pipes Says 3 Inches Of Blood Are “Gonna Start Trickling Out Some New Music” In 2027

During a recent appearance on Loud & Clear With Belgian Jasper, 3 Inches Blood vocalist Cam Pipes offered an update on the band’s new music plans. According to him, new material will likely start to surface in 2027. Pipes said the following:

“There is a plan to write some songs. We are working on new stuff. When it will actually be unleashed on people’s ears is another thing. But we’re not gonna rush it. But there’s lots of ideas in our camp with songwriting. So, the plan is spend most of this year kind of working those songs out and getting them good. ‘Cause show-wise, we’re not gonna be super busy this year — Hell’s Heroes is one of our only shows we’re doing this year — 2027 we’re planning on being a lot busier. And then that’s when we’re gonna start trickling out some new music.”

  • Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Says His Guitar Playing Was “Very Influential” With All The “Big Four” Thrash Metal Bands

During a recent interview with 89 FM A Rádio Rock, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine discussed his band’s role in the “Big Four,” which also includes fellow thrash acts Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. He also claimed his guitar work was “very influential” with all of them.

    Mustaine said the following:

“Well, I’ve been very invested in the metal community. Kerry [King, Slayer guitarist] and I played together [during the two bands’ early days], and I showed him how to play Megadeth songs, which was before [Slayer] started having all their pivotal records. Kerry and I had a really great time together. And I wrote music in Metallica and I wrote music in Megadeth. So, I’ve been very influential with the guitar with these three bands.

And when I met Scott [Ian, Anthrax guitarist] and the guys in Anthrax out in New York, same thing happened. Their first record was very different from the record they made after they met me and the guys in Metallica. So I think that’s great. I love all those bands.”

  • Russell Allen (Symphony X) Releases New Song “Love Her Like I Do (Ava’s Song)” For Autism Awareness Month

Russell Allen (Symphony X) has shared a new song titled “Love Her Like I Do (Ava’s Song).” The track was released in honor of Autism Awareness Month, which holds a great significance to the singer, whose daughter is on the spectrum.

    Allen commented:

“The song was written over several years navigating the evolution of our daughter’s life on the spectrum. Observing her behaviors that most would consider quirky became normal to me and my family. It became increasingly difficult for her to make friends in her life, though we tried several groups and activities for her to explore. Her social anxiety would overwhelm her senses and she would just retreat into her ‘world’ and stim a lot.

The heartbreaking moment for me was when she came home from school and asked, ‘Why are the kids playing and having fun but not with me?’ The fact that she was so aware of her situation was both enlightening and difficult for us, because we knew she couldn’t change who she was for acceptance of her peers. But why should she? So the song became my wish — a father’s wish — for my daughter to find a world full of people who would accept her and love her the way we do.”

  • Steve Harris On “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition” Documentary: “It’s About Us, But Not By Us”

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk,” Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris discussed the upcoming documentary “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition.” He also revealed that the film is just “about Iron Maiden, not by Iron Maiden.”

    Harris said the following:

“Well, in actual fact, it wasn’t us. It’s about us, but not by us. That’s the difference. So it’s a documentary, which they came to us with an idea that they wanted to do, and it changed a little bit from the original idea. They were gonna do it more about the fans, and it still is, to a certain degree. So, yeah, it’s not by us. They wanted to use our artwork and everything, and it seems like as if it’s our documentary. It’s not. I think they really should have put out that it’s a documentary about Iron Maiden, not by Iron Maiden, because it’s not us. We didn’t have that control that we would normally have if we were doing it ourselves, of course.

Yeah, we cooperated with it and we did interviews for it and all that stuff — we did what they wanted us to do — but if we’d have done it, I think we’d have done it in a slightly different way, and I’ll say no more. But I still think the end result is… Well, I’ll say no more because it preempts whatever. I think people should just go and see it and see what they think.”

He continued when asked if it covers their history:

“Yeah, it’s historical stuff. There’s a lot of historical stuff for the first hour, probably, I suppose. So, yeah, I think people have gotta watch it and make their own minds up, really.”

  • Slipknot’s Sid Wilson On The Late Joey Jordison: “He Was The Best That Ever Did It”

During a recent interview with Get On The Bus, Slipknot turntablist Sid Wilson paid tribute to his late bandmate Joey Jordison. According to him, the drummer “was the best that ever did it.”

Wilson said the following about Jordison’s death:

“He wasn’t in the band anymore at that time… [But] I was still friends with Joey. I always maintained a friendship with Joey, man. I love that guy.

Yeah, people just choose different lifestyles sometimes, and sometimes that lifestyle’s more important than hanging out with your buds. It sucks. Did it stop us from hanging out? No.

Yeah, there’s nothing easy about it, dude. Life’s tough, man. And you either got nerves of steel or you don’t. And sometimes even the guys that got nerves of steel, that shit gets beat down after a while, man. No one can understand it. You can’t understand anything about anybody. You’re not inside anyone else’s skin. If we could get a skin ticket to anybody’s life, then maybe we would understand, but it’s not for me to understand or try to figure it out or whatever. I just have to accept it and know that he was my buddy.”

    He also praised Jordison’s musicianship:

“I’ll say this: Joey was the best that ever did it. Hands down. The greatest drummers would come to our shows to watch this guy play. [The Police drummer] Stewart Copeland came and saw us play and said, ‘He’s the one.’ And he was. He was. That dude would hear anybody’s music once and could play it. [Metallica drummer] Lars [Ulrich] didn’t make it to a [Metallica] show once [at a 2004 festival in the U.K.]. We were playing with Metallica. Joey got up there and played the set for him. He could hear anyone’s music once and know how to play it without playing it. He was like that. He was amazing. And he was such a little dude. All that power. It’s ’cause he was so little. He was, like, ‘I’m gonna fucking show you, man. Don’t think I ain’t got it. Don’t think I’m just some little dude, ’cause I’ll fucking tear your face off.’ He was like that. He had something to prove, man. Yeah, he was the best. And then I’ll say [current Slipknot drummer] Eloy [Casagrande] is a fresh breath of air for us. It hasn’t felt like the beginning until he came along. And I’ll leave it at that.”
