As you notice, we recorded some more songs during the original sessions, so here’s the full ‘Nordic Gothic’ saga shining in the dark. Unreleased material, the standalone single releases, NYC acoustic live tracks that show a different side of the songs as well as something completely different: the remixes by outside artists! • Midwinter Release New EP “CHAPTER THREE: Still Hurts”, Premiere “Lying Figures” Video

Midwinter have released a new EP titled “CHAPTER THREE: Still Hurts.” The effort includes the following songs: “Lying Figures,“ “Champagne,“ “Dislocated,“ “Blood Bag,“ “Silent Violence,“ and “Chasing Butterflies.“ A video for “Lying Figures” can be found below. The band commented on that track:

“This song lives in that desperate space of limbo, when you’re caught between the love you lost and the reality of having to move forward. It’s about the mental struggle of still wanting something you once had, even when you know deep down it wasn’t healthy for you. Musically, we really focused on creating something that feels truly moving. We wanted the instrumentals to carry that weight so the listener can feel the sadness and emotion behind every part of the song.”

What you will hear are four dudes all adding their flavours to the melting pot to create a body of work that felt completely natural to us.”

  • Tankcrimes Owner Scotty Heath Has Now Backed Out Of C.Y. Fest

As previously reported, Tankcrimes owner Scotty Heath recently signed on as the promoter of C.Y. Fest after founder Ignacio “Nacho Corrupted” Rodriguera was accused of sexual assault. However, he has now decided to back out of the event.

    Heath issued the following statement:

“Hey guys, Scotty here. I made a video yesterday about how I had called the promoter of ‘C.Y. Fest‘ and asked him to step down and that I was going to take the reins of the fest. I wanted to save the fest and make it a fun and safe weekend for everybody involved, all my friends who are in the bands, and also all the fans who have non-refundable tickets. And I thought I could pull it off.

And there’s just too many questions came in from you guys that I don’t have the answers for, so I just felt like I was in over my head. I really… I did make a solid attempt, but I think I rushed the announcement. It was less than 30 hours after I’d done it, and everything happened pretty spontaneously, and I was just trying to get out there so quick, because the fest is coming up so soon, so I have bowed out of that, and I’ve the venues are still running the fest.

They have very competent staff and in-house people that will be doing that. But because there’s so many unanswered questions that I don’t have the answers for. I can’t do it.

And I’m sorry if I let you down, if you gave me positive messages, and I’m sorry if you had questions that I couldn’t answer, because I can’t, and for that reason, I’m going to bow out. Thank you for your understanding. Okay, I love you guys very much. Peace.”

This year’s C.Y. Fest will take place at The Belasco in Los Angeles, CA on March 28

  • Love Rarely Premiere “Severed” Music Video

Love Rarely have premiered a new video for their new song “Severed.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Pain Travels,” which will be released on April 10. Guitarist Dan Dewsnap commented:

“’Severed’ is an exploration of the emotions you feel when having to cut out an alcoholic and hostile family member. Even though they brought so much pain, the relief is also tied in with a dash of guilt that you couldn’t help them change. It ruminates on the positives that draw you in and the negatives that pushed you away.”

  • Extinction A.D. Premiere “Thaw” Music Video

Extinction A.D. have premiered a new video for their new song “Thaw.” Vocalist/guitarist Rick Jimenez said the following about the single:

“It’s very easy to assume writing an anti-authoritarian song is passé in heavy music in 2026, but as a band that exists in both the metal world and the hardcore world, it’s surprisingly polarizing. The ‘defenders of the status quo’ all the way to the ‘regressive back-to-the-past’ thinking infiltrating our scenes is purely bizarre to me. This song is an unabashed condemnation of the abuse of federal power in the ICE organization and the denial of celebrating racist and fascist ideals under the guise of supporting politicians. The video for ‘Thaw’ was to bring like-minded people into our world and be just as, if not more, important than the four members of the band. It’s not just our song, it’s everyone’s song.”

  • Exhorder Part Ways With Drummer Sasha Horn

Exhorder have parted ways with drummer Sasha Horn. Corey Pierce (God Forbid) will be filling in during the band’s upcoming shows.

    The group commented:

“After more than eight years as the drummer for Exhorder, Sasha Horn has decided to step away for the time being from the daily rock lifestyle to focus on his personal life. This decision does not impact our touring plans in any way, as we have been fortunate enough to secure the help of God Forbid legend, Corey Pierce. Corey will join us on the Tour of Unsound Minds this coming month, so we are in good hands! We are excited to jam with Corey, and to bring our live show back to the eastern states for the first time in 2026.”

    Horn continued:

“After eight and a half years, two albums, and countless touring cycles, it is time for me to permanently step away from my position at Exhorder. All things have come to that split in the path. Best wishes to the guys moving forward. As for myself, I am in search of more time with family, continuing education, and a focus on my own personal creative endeavors. So much love to all of my fans, you mean the world to me. I shall see you again when I’m back out in it. This is not a farewell, this is a time-out.”

    The band added:

“As we have finally completed a two year touring cycle of Defectum Omnium, our canvas is clear and we are excited about following up with our fifth album’s writing process. The search for a permanent drummer is under way.

All of our best to Sasha in his journey, and we thank him for the time, contributions, and sacrifices he made alongside us for all of these years. Best of luck and nothing but love from us moving forward.

    Jason, Pat, and Kyle“
