  • Sleeping With Sirens Premiere “An Ending In Itself” Music Video

Sleeping With Sirens have premiered a new video for their new song “An Ending In Itself.” You can check that out below. Vocalist Kellin Quinn commented:

“This song is a love letter to anyone in the midst of struggle. I think we live in an age where we’re supposed to pretend like we have it ‘all together all of the time’ so much so that we’re afraid to let anyone in. I think it’s important to have open dialogue and to ask for help when we need it. This song is about being brave enough to admit that we’re not always okay. No matter what you’re going through, there is hope.”

  • Anthrax Now Planning To Release New Album In September

During an appearance on the Everblack podcast, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante offered an update on the band’s upcoming album. According to him, the effort is now scheduled to be released in September.

Benante said the following when asked if the group were still aiming for a May release:

“No, it doesn’t come out in May. We’re putting out our first song and video in May. The record is not coming out till September. We pushed it back a little bit. We just had to do a couple of other things to it. And then we had to, of course, get a release date set. So it got moved to September. And that’s it. It’s coming out in September, but the first song and video will be out in May.”

He continued when asked about the song the band teased during their recent live shows:

“We play a little piece of one of the songs. We played it on this Canadian run [with MEGADETH and EXODUS] that we just came back from. But I could see us kind of expanding it a bit for our friends in Australia [on the upcoming Australian tour in late March], maybe playing a little more, because, for me, it’s become so hard to just contain this, because I’m so excited about it. I’m so happy about it. This record is really, really good.”

    He also discussed touring plans:

“The ANTHRAX record is a very important release to us. So we’re gonna, of course, make the time to fulfill doing as many shows as we possibly could in support of this record.

It’s such a different time nowadays. If this was 20 years ago, we’d be talking differently about how we’re going to march this record out. But these days it’s, like, I often said, what does a new record mean to people these days? I just feel like music has become so disposable that if I was gonna make a record, another record, and put my heart into it, I want people to anticipate, I want them to get ready to hear it. Because this record is not three or four songs deep of good songs and then the rest is shit. Every song on this record stands on its own. I mean, when one song finishes and the next one comes up, it’s just, like, ‘Holy shit. This one’s fucking just as good as the last.’”

  • Nuclear Messiah (Ex-Megadeth) Cover May Blitz’s “For Mad Men Only”

Nuclear Messiah, the project featuring Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth), have released a new cover of May Blitz’s “For Mad Men Only.” A video for the track, which features Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Deep Purple), Pat Travers (Pat Travers Band), Alan Davey (ex-Hawkwind), and Shawn Drover (ex-Megadeth), can be found below. Nuclear Messiah’s new album, “Black Flame,” will be released on April 24.

    Poland commented:

“This Nuclear Messiah record has been an absolute pleasure for me to make and be a part of. If someone told me when I was a kid that I would be on a record someday with nearly 40 of rock’s royalty, I would have said you’re dreaming. Well, it happened!!! This record is a tour de force of artists from groups we all know and love. From the first track to the last it just never lets up. Thank you, Cleopatra!!!”

    Turner added:

“It’s great to be on board with the guys from Nuclear Messiah but I never thought after 56 years that I’d be doing a metal cover version of a May Blitz song. Recording ‘For Mad Men Only’ was a time warp experience. I remember back in 1970 when the band was releasing new material in a prog/psychedelic/ punk style. The power pop attitude and cryptic lyrics of non-conformity still ring true to form. It was an absolute pleasure to make a contribution to this amazing new project! Cheers to all!”

    “Black Flame” Track Listing:

    01. “The Prophet Of Fallout” (feat. Chris Poland & William Shatner)
    02. “Devil Won’t Let Go” (feat. Chris Poland, Ronnie Romero, Vinnie Moore, Vinny Appice, Don Airey, Steve DiGiorgio)

    05. “Dice And Thunder” (feat. Chris Poland, Rick Wakeman, Ronnie Romero, Bumblefoot, Steve Di Giorgio, Fred Aching)
    06. “For Mad Men Only” (feat. Chris Poland, Pat Travers, Joe Lynn Turner, Alan Davey, Shawn Drover)

  • At The Gates Reflect On The Making Of “The Ghost Of A Future Dead”

At The Gates have taken to social media to reflect on the making of their upcoming album “The Ghost Of A Future Dead.” That effort will be released on April 24 and it will be the band’s last to feature their late frontman Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg.

    The group commented:

“In February 2024 we entered Fascination Street Studios with producer Jens Bogren where we recorded all the music between February and March.

    Additional recording engineer: Alexander Backlund.

We had the album pretty much written by mid December 2023, when Tomas got the bad news.

We decided together with him that we probably should move ahead and record the music in February/March as planned and then record the vocals later in 2024.

As this plan never materialized, we went back to check the demo vocals he had been recording prior to the studio recording with Per Stålberg.

We were all very surprised by how good these takes were, especially Tomas himself.

While in Fascination Street Studios we kept Tomas in the loop every day sending pictures, videos and progress reports in order to give him something positive to focus on after the first surgery and recuperation period. The recording went very well and we all gave our 100% for this album.

We brought in Charlie Storm to do the album intro on The Fever Mask.

Fredrik Wallenberg did guest vocals on the track Det Oerhörda.

Jens started to mix the album it in the spring of 2024.

We finalized the track order/sequencing for the album, and Tomas collaborated on the cover artwork with our friend Robert Samsonowitz.

The whole of 2024 and some months into 2025 became just a waiting game for Tomas to recuperate and get better. We continuously pushed the album forward trying to find a release date that would work.

In the first months of 2025 things actually looked a bit brighter, but in early May he went through a setback that he never recovered from.

In August we felt the time was right to publish the news regarding his situation.
This is an extremely important album for us all.

We have poured our hearts into it.
Hope you will like it too.

Tomas, We miss your smile, your warmth, your creativity, your compassion & your humor. You inspired us in everything; from picking up instruments and starting a band back in the day, getting us interested in all kinds of music, art and literature.

The world will never be the same.

You are forever missed. This album is for you.”

  • Splitview Premiere “Denial” Video

Splitview have premiered a new video for their new song “Denial.” This track is from the band’s new EP, “Believe You’ll Be Alright,” which will be released on April 10. Vocalist Erik Brozska commented:

“‘Denial‘ focuses on how the lyrical emotion changes between the verses and the bridge, in a sort of back and forth approach. Earlier on in the track is foreshadowing the gravity of the decisions you’ve made, while the chorus is a note of self-reflection.”
