Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has confirmed that his new memoir, “In My Darkest Hour,” will be released on September 8. As previously reported, that book will focus on the frontman’s cancer battle.

Cage Fight have shared an 8-bit style video for their new song “Pick Your Fighter.” You can check that out below. The track features Benighted’s Julien Truchan and it will appear on the band’s new album, “Exuvia,” which is set to be released on May 1.
Singer Rachel Aspe commented:
“We wanted to write a fun, sing-along party song with themes of determination and fighting spirit, and the result is ‘Pick Your Fighter.’ I also wanted to pay tribute to a French artist who marked my teenage years, and my dad suggested Nâdiya, an R&B singer who is huge back home. Musical and lyrical motifs in ‘Pick Your Fighter’ nod to Nâdiya‘s hit ‘Et C’est Parti’, a motivational party song that was a huge hit. The crowning touch is some very heavy guest vocals from my French friend Julien Truchan of the band Benighted. And there are pig squeals, many pig squeals!”
Drummer Nick Plews also added the following about the video, which was created in collaboration with the Enemy Of Boredom Academy:
“That lightbulb moment, which came in the back of the van after a gig, was so exciting. I couldn’t wait to get back and rally the troops to get this looking awesome! On a personal note, this is definitely a special moment for me, and I am beyond impressed with what the students have achieved.”
Papa Roach have premiered a new video for their latest single “Wake Up Calling.” You can check that out below. Frontman Jacoby Shaddix previously commented on the song:
“‘Wake Up Calling’ is a song about standing on the edge of disaster — being pulled back from the brink, and ultimately choosing love over self-destruction. It’s one of the most raw, emotional songs we’ve written.”
Infected Rain have premiered a new video for their new song “Stranger.” You can check that out below:
Vocalist Lena Scissorhands commented:
“‘Stranger’ came from the moment when you realize you don’t fully recognize yourself anymore. It’s an inward fight with identity, with the roles you’ve worn for too long, and the distance that grows between who you are and who you think you should be. In the end, it’s about becoming strangers to ourselves, and trying to find the way back.”
The band also added:
“‘Stranger’ is part of the Mutation Phase Infected Rain is entering right now. It’s the sound of Infected Rain pushing forward, leaving comfort behind, and stepping into something sharper and more direct. This song belongs in the setlist for the upcoming EU and U.S. tours because it represents what the band is becoming. The album is still in progress, but we’re proud of where it’s heading and wanted to share a first taste of the next record with everyone already now.”
Black Veil Brides have shared an official video for the title track of their new album “Vindicate.” That effort will be released on May 8.
Frontman Andy Biersack commented on the song:
“I view this song as a means of conveying the themes of the album right at the top. Each song on the record represents a different way we fight with the feelings of revenge and getting even, sometimes with others, sometimes with ourselves, our past, something someone else did to us etc.
This song above all else was lyrically inspired by the chip I’ve had on my shoulder since I was 16 years old and started this band. I was immediately torn down and sneered at by my peers within the ‘scene’ and those around me and to this day this band and our fans have always had to fight through that to one degree or another. Beyond that though I find that it’s representative of every one of us who have to deal with someone attempting to destroy our ambitions simply because they do not possess the skills or wherewithal to make their own dreams come true.
All of us are born with a fire and a belief in ourselves, often times though the world around us will try to stamp it out. This is a song about never letting them drag you down. If you are a fan of what we do, you have given me more than you could ever imagine and I thank you ardently and sincerely for allowing me the opportunity to do this for all of these years. I hope you enjoy ‘Vindicate!’”
He also added the following about the album:
“This record is rooted in the feelings of revenge and vindication. These are emotions that can either push us forward or hold us back. There’s a duality to them. They can fuel growth, drive ambition, and help us rise above what’s tried to break us, but they can also become destructive if we let them consume us.
Each song explores a different side of that struggle. Sometimes it’s about getting even with someone else, sometimes it’s about confronting ourselves and our past, our pain, or the things that were done to us. At its core, though, this album is about resilience.
It’s for anyone who’s ever had their dreams doubted or their fire challenged by people who couldn’t see their vision. We’re all born with that spark. The world will try to take that away at times, but this record is about holding onto it, fighting back, and turning those struggles into something powerful.”
“Clearly, there’s been a lot going on in my life over the past couple of years that I’m sorting through. I wasn’t consciously trying to put it all into songs, but I’d sit down with a guitar to see what would happen, and I’d end up writing.
This album takes elements from all of our previous releases and rolls them into one. It accurately represents our sound, so it felt fitting to have it serve as a statement that says, ‘This is the sound of the band.’”
