Pallbearer Premiere “The Quicksand Of Existing” Video

Pallbearer have premiered a new video for their new song “The Quicksand Of Existing.” This track is from the band’s new album “Forgotten Days,” which will be released on October 23. Bassist Joseph Rowland commented:

“As we strive to be, the forces of entropy perpetually pull us down into a state of being unmade. The body degrades; the mind and memories fray into unwoven threads, no longer connected to the rich fabric of the self. Choices made upon our separate and conjoined paths may find us engulfed in a mire of our unmaking. I wanted this song to face this reality with a grim determination.”

Pallbearer Premiere New Song “Rite Of Passage”

Pallbearer have premiered a new song titled “Rite Of Passage.” This track is from the band’s new album “Forgotten Days,” which will be released on October 23. Bassist Joseph Rowland commented:

“‘Rite Of Passage‘ is both a reflection and a confessional. The toll that loss has taken on my life often finds ways to remind me that I may never feel whole, and the song’s purpose is to express and embody that emptiness. It felt totally appropriate to wrap it in reimagined trappings of our earliest doom-leaning material.”

Pallbearer Share Cinema Edition Of “Forgotten Days” Video

Pallbearer have shared an alternate cinema edition of their “Forgotten Days” video. That song serves as the title track of the band’s new album, which will be released on October 23. Brett Campbell said the following about the new clip:

“When Ben [Meredith, director] sent us this alternate version of the ‘Forgotten Days’ video, we were instantly taken aback at how a simple color shift and change to aspect ratio transformed the feeling of the narrative. This cinematic edition is dripping with oppressive claustrophobia, and in being stripped of color, deepens the sense of the unknown lurking in the shadows of the mind. We’re happy to share it with you today.”

Pallbearer Premiere “Forgotten Days” Video, Reveal Details For New Album

Pallbearer have announced that their new album “Forgotten Days” will be released on October 23. With this news, the band have also shared an official video for the title track:

Brett Campbell said the following about the video:

“I’m extremely stoked to finally share this song with everyone. The video for ‘Forgotten Days‘ tells the story of an unfortunate traveler who journeys too far, and becomes lost in the depths of both inner, and outer, space. What is real when you cannot trust your own mind?”

Joseph Rowland also added the following about the album:

“‘Forgotten Days‘ is us exploring what is natural to us. The songs tell me where I need to go when I write. We wanted to focus on songs that were visceral and enjoyable to play live – that our audiences would enjoy experiencing. We’re also getting back to more of the groovier and heavier elements of Pallbearer. ‘Heartless‘ is fairly uptempo and technical. This one is a little more open, it hammers you.”

“This record has a lot of thematic ties to our first record. When we were writing ‘Sorrow And Extinction‘, my mother was terminally ill. It’s been 10 years since she passed. It’s taken me all of this time to take a really good look at myself. While we were writing ‘Forgotten Days‘, I knew, ‘Now is the time to sit down and begin to understand who I have become.’”

Campbell continued:

“Joe and I have always written lyrics separately. But we always end up with lyrics that are connected by threads. I’m not sure why that is. Maybe it’s because we’ve been in close proximity for a long while. Between ‘Heartless‘ and ‘Forgotten Days‘, we were home for an extended period of time. I think we finally had time to reflect. Memory is a big aspect of the new record. The passage of time. How things change as perspective changes. Was the past truly the way that you remember it at all?”

Pallbearer have signed a new deal with Nuclear Blast Records. With this news, the band have also released a new song, titled “Atlantis,“ as part of the “Sub Pop Singles Club.” You can stream that and a newly released live version of “Thorns“ below:

Pallbearer said the following about signing with Nuclear Blast:

“We are very honored to announce that we have signed a worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast. We had the great privilege of working with them on the European distribution of our previous album, and it was quite clear that this was the next logical step for us. We greatly look forward to continuing our work with Monte Conner and his legendary team at the label, as well as being included amongst a truly unparalleled group of some of heavy music’s greatest artists of the modern era.”

They also added the following about the new single:

“We’re very excited to finally be able to share another piece of new material with you. As many of you probably know by now, Pallbearer has always been very ‘album-oriented’ — when we are writing music, it’s often with the big picture in mind. However, we also thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to release pieces that might not necessarily fit into a larger album.

Thanks to the Sub Pop Singles Series, we were thrilled to have the chance to write a brand new song, ‘Atlantis‘, plus also document how ‘Thorns‘, a song from our previous LP had taken on a different bit of attitude after being roadworn for a couple of years.”
