• Lord Of The Lost Premiere “One Of Us Will Be Next” Video

Lord Of The Lost have premiered a new video for their new song “One Of Us Will Be Next.” This track is from the band’s new album, “OPVS NOIR Vol. 2,” which will be released on December 12. Chris Harms commented:

“In the middle of a concert last year, I suddenly realized: one of us in this venue will be the next to go. On their way home that night, a few weeks later, maybe in a couple of months or years. But inevitably, one of us will be the next to die, and we will never come together again in the exact same constellation. The same goes for every family gathering, every party with friends, and even time spent as a couple. ‘One Of Us Will Be Next’ is a plea not to dwell on the past or search for happiness in a better future, but to be grateful for every moment, the present, and the company we find ourselves in at any given time—and to meet people with that very awareness. Because every word could be our last, at any moment.”

  • Kellin Quinn Cancels Sleeping With Sirens Shows And Guest Appearance With From First To Last

Kellin Quinn has cancelled his upcoming shows with Sleeping With Sirens and From First To Last due to his wife’s health struggles. The singer commented:

“Hey SWS family. Kellin here, my wife has been struggling with some health issues since the end of the PTV tour and for the entirety of my time off. She is now scheduled to have a surgery in the coming weeks and her recovery time after is uncertain. While we’re trying to figure it all out, I’m making the tough decision to cancel the upcoming SWS tour and my guest appearance with From First To Last at Furnace Fest (they will still be performing). My place is at home until we can solve this and she is recovered. I love you all very much and thank you for understanding.”

  • A Lot Like Birds Share Video For “When In Love” Featuring Thursday’s Geoff Rickly

A Lot Like Birds have released a new song titled “When In Love.” That track features Thursday’s Geoff Rickly and a video for it can be found below:

    The band commented:

“We proudly present our first new single in 8 years. Cry, scream, throw up accordingly

‘When in Love‘ ft. @geoffrickly out now!

There is no understating what this song means to us as a band. Finding a path to reconciliation together has been a monumentally meaningful and healing experience for each of us, as this band and it’s music is deeply rooted in our identities. It is a mile marker for each of our personal growth to revisit this as adults.

Special thank you to the legendary Geoff Rickly for taking the song to another level. I think I speak for all of us when I say, Geoff’s work with @thursdayband and beyond was hugely influential to us. As we revisit this project so many years later and feel that magic we felt in our younger years, it is an honor to have an artist on the track that helped introduce us to magic in the first place.”

  • HEAVENSGATE Premiere “PETRICHOR” Music Video

HEAVENSGATE have premiered a new video for their new song “PETRICHOR.” This track is from the band’s new EP, “A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN,” which will be released on October 24. That effort will be followed by a new compilation album, titled “ANGEL HYMNS,” on November 14.

The group said the following about the single:

”’PETRICHOR’ is an exciting release for us, there’s a lot behind it with the announcement of the forthcoming EP and tours. We feel that this song helps bridge the gap between some of our older material that fans grew fond of whilst introducing them to a fresh take on those ideas. We’ve grown a lot as a band and so have our tastes, this single perfectly encapsulates that and shows how much our sound has matured. The music video that accompanies ‘PETRICHOR’ helped take the narrative aspects of this song to a whole new level which we hope the listener appreciates just as much as us.”

They also added the following about the EP:

“’A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN’ really is the sum of its parts, it’s our collective experiences as band weaved into a story that is heartfelt and resonates deeply with us, which we hope in turn our listeners can appreciate. It’s always a little nerve-racking putting a body of work out there which has this much variety, but we’re proud to showcase this next step in the band. The video which accompanies the release ‘A FAWN FLAYED’ is something we’re excited to share. A one-take video which we had no intentions of shooting but everything came together perfectly on the first shot. We felt that it was the best statement piece for the band which encapsulates this release.”

  • Frontierer Share Video For “The Collapse (Redux)”

Frontierer have shared a new video for a “redux” version of “The Collapse.” The updated track is from the remixed and remastered 10th anniversary vinyl pressing of “Orange Mathematics,“ which will be released on October 31.

    The group commented:

“This is the first song we ever wrote (officially) as Frontierer and it feels as relevant today as it did 13 years ago (that EP; for all you die hards and long timers).

Times have changed but the energy has NOT.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate and privileged to see so many amazing parts of the world with this band and we want that to continue.

Please celebrate with us through this modest collection designed by our good friend Mitchell Gillies.

Mitchell was the main source of inspiration for taking writing music into my own hands. He used to write these insane guitar pro files which I’d learn from and to this day it feels so unnatural to me that someone would write music this way. But hey, that’s how it was done.

Anyway, it took a long time and many attempts of re-recording the exact same riff 1000 times (literally) for tones, until a few pennies dropped and I developed my own way to write and arrange songs. After being frustrated trying to string together a band locally I decided that barrier to progress had to be broken. So, cue vocalist 5000 miles away across an ocean. Now, Chad is one of my best friends and he feels so “local” but so much of this still seems alien to so many people I speak to. It’s wild.

Dan approached me after a gig with my other band at the time, Sectioned. We had all just broken up after that show (previous lineup). It didn’t make sense stage-diving to post-rock. Dude was in the wrong band. So we changed that and now he’s also one of my best friends – a pattern emerges! The contribution that Luke, Iain, Calum and all of our crew has made to this day has been immeasurable.

Enjoy this short story, the tunes, the merch and we will see you all very soon. Thank you for everything.”

  • Lucas Woodland Blasts AI-Assisted “Band” For Surpassing Holding Absence On Spotify: “These Models Are Literally Trained Off My Band”

Lucas Woodland has blasted an AI-assisted band, reportedly called Bleeding Verse, for gaining more Spotify listeners than Holding Absence. The vocalist also claimed “these models are literally trained off [his] band.”

Woodland said the following in a series of tweets:

“So, an AI “band” who cite us as an influence (ie, it’s modelled off our music) have just overtaken us on Spotify, in only TWO months.

    It’s shocking, it’s disheartening, it’s insulting – most importantly – it’s a wake up call.

Oppose AI music, or bands like us stop existing.”

“’What can we do?’ – I believe we can only lobby for transparency now. Those artists should have “AI” on their Spotify artwork, so that playlists can’t sneak them onto playlists. Otherwise, violently support real music. Buy merch. Attend shows. That’s the most we can do for now”

“‘Make better music’ was my favourite take btw. These models are LITERALLY TRAINED OFF MY BAND lmao. And then releasing songs at a pace physically impossible to replicate Chess robots have been beating human world champions for 30 years now. ‘Get good’ is a petulant opinion.”

  • Mental Cruelty Share Video For “Helheim” Featuring Signs Of The Swarm’s David Simonich

Mental Cruelty have premiered a new song titled “Helheim.” That track features Signs Of The Swarm’s David Simonich and a video for it can be found below. The group commented:

“‘HELHEIM‘ is another stepping stone on our way from slamming deathcore to more melodic, blackened metal. ‘ZWIELICHT’ was our way to transition from deathcore to a sound focused on our blackened side, as well as traditionally ‘metal’ influences and even folk. This song dips another toe on there, with the inclusion of a stringed Scandinavian instrument called talharpa. The boys actually needed to learn that new instrument to record in the studio! Of course we wanted to keep some deathcore in there, so for the breakdown we invited our friend David Simonich of Signs of the Swarm, with whom we start a crushing North America tour tomorrow. It’s appropriately brutal for a song written about the realm for Vikings who didn’t quite make it to Valhalla, an afterlife for the disgraced.”
