The group commented:

“This album is a testament to our band’s endurance. It is easily our most aggressive album to date, born and bred from the odd shift in the world that affected everyone. We have always used our music as an outlet, and no better time than when the world felt so much like an ENDLESS HALLWAY.”

Vocalist Schuylar Croom added:

“We had to push the vocal recording, because my stomach was failing due to my diabetes. It was so bad I couldn’t perform. It took a while to get back to some semblance of normal. Eventually, I hopped in the car and drove 10 hours to Nashville to record at Mitch Marlow’s place. I’m a different person now. The universe throws those things at you to make you stronger. That’s  personal growth.”

Croom also commented further via social media

“I’m grateful. Honestly. I love you all. I love my band. I’m so excited for these tunes to start gushing out. Thanks for everything guys. You’ve always been so loyal. I can’t wait to wake up to see what you all think about these jams. This album our most aggressive work bar none. I’m ready to rip some gigs with my besties. As the kids say these days… “Let’s go… no cap””

He Is Legend’s Schuylar Croom Opens Up About Year-Long Battle With Mystery Illness

He Is Legend vocalist Schuylar Croom has revealed that he has been battling a mysterious illness for about a year. The sickness has led to the cancellation of the band’s appearance on the “ShipRocked” cruise and several shows booked around it.

Croom said the following in a recent video:

“I have an illness, we’re not sure what it is. I get sick, usually in the mornings. I’ll throw up and then I will be ill for sometimes two weeks. Those are the gory details. I’m not talking I throw up and go to bed and feel gross, I’m throwing up twenty times a day. I’m like living in the bathroom.”

He also added:

“So all year we’ve been going in and out, trying to figure this out. We thought that gall bladder removal was the answer—it turned out it wasn’t, I got sick again. This time very close to my recording sessions for the new He Is Legend record. As I was healing from the gall bladder surgery I get sick again, so we had to push recording for me, the album is finished, other than vocals.”

Despite this, he went on to say that the illness will not derail his music career:

“I’m born to do what we do, so I won’t turn my back on that. And I won’t let an illness stop me—though it has delayed me.”

Croom also took to Twitter to say that his doctors have since gone “back to the drawing board” and that they believe his illness may be related to his battle with diabetes.

Mckenzie Bell (Ex-He Is Legend/Bloodjinn) Passes Away

Mckenzie Bell (ex-He Is Legend/Bloodjinn) has sadly passed away. He was only 35.

Bloodjnn commented:

“We are extremely saddened today to find out that our great friend and former guitarist, Mckenzie Bell, has passed away. He was always a blast to hang out with and one incredible riff writer. He was the king of all of the hot sauces. Seriously, his collection was insane. He was largely involved in our ‘This Machine Runs On Empty’ recording process, along with @machinejk76. He even had a great singing voice and will forever be heard on “Moment Of Clarity”. Rest in power brother. You were loved dearly by everyone.”

He Is Legend have since commented as well:

“Learning of McKenzie Bell’s passing has left us all with heavy hearts. He truly was a one of a kind person. We spent many years cutting our teeth playing together in different bands at local spots here in Wilmington, in the practice room, in a tour van across the entire country. We know that he touched many people’s lives in the 35 years he was with us on this planet, and everyone’s memories of him will live on forever. Our hearts go out to his friends and family, especially his loving mother. He had a very long, hard road to go down after his accident. We’re hoping you finally have some peace, McKenzie. Pour it out, boys.”

Bell’s cause of death has yet to be revealed, but he had been dealing with complications related to a serious accident that he was involved in several years ago. The musician was previously documenting his recovery progress on Instagram.

He Is Legend Premiere “White Bat” Music Video

He Is Legend have premiered a new video for the title track of their latest album “White Bat.” You can check that out below. Schuylar Croom told Revolver the following:

“This was an intense shoot that went well into the night. Myles and I carved out what we could as our budget was tight and we wanted to show a juxtaposition from the ‘Boogiewoman‘ video. ‘White Bat‘ is stark and flows like a flash flood. This is a peek through the key hole at Legend totally unhinged.”

He Is Legend Premiere “Boogiewoman” Music Video

He Is Legend have premiered a new video for their song “Boogiewoman.” This track is from the band’s new album “White Bat,” which will be released on June 28.

Schuylar Croom commented:

“Myles Erfurth and I have been trying to team up for a while now. It was a pleasure making this as we are both horror fanatics. We knew we had something special when one of our actors walked off set because the vibe was a little too dark for her.

I think this the best way to showcase the horror aspect Legend has always brought to the table. We had the pleasure of having our friend Britney Fontaine do the horror gags for us as well, which was super exciting. This will not be the last thing we team up to shoot, that’s for sure!”
