• alt. Premiere “They’ve Always Lived In The Castle” Music Video

alt. have premiered a new video for their new song “They’ve Always Lived In The Castle.” The band said the following about the single:

“‘They’ve Always Lived In The Castle’ is a rallying cry for revolution. It confronts a world where power has always protected itself. Where the wealthy remain untouched, and those at the top tighten their grip while the rest are left behind. The song channels the anger and urgency of a breaking point, a moment when people decide they’ve had enough and rise to reclaim their lives. But revolution comes at a cost. The first strike sparks a brutal retaliation from Nephilim Corp, unleashing violence that leaves thousands dead. What begins as defiance quickly becomes a war and the fight for freedom is only just beginning.”

  • Morgan Rose Admits Sevendust Came Close To Retiring

During an interview with Stan Bicknell, Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose revealed that the band had discussed the possibility of retirement before working on their new album “One” (out May 1). According to him, they “had a blueprint for it and everything.”

    Rose said the following:

“We went through this period of time where we just weren’t touring as much. We were kind of thinking that we were gonna land the plane a little bit, like, ‘Let’s slow it down to a farewell thing,’ which we had discussed, for sure. And then some other things happened, and we decided, ‘You know what? Instead of parking the car here, why don’t we just put it all the way into drive, like all the way in, and let’s tour like harder than we’ve ever toured and just burn the car out. Like, ‘Let’s tackle things that we haven’t done.’ So that happened. Just overnight, it was a decision that went from ‘We’re gonna retire’ to ‘No, no, no. We’re gonna actually put the afterburner on now instead.’”

    He also added:

“It was recently. It was, like, a year and a half ago. This was gonna be our last record. We had a blueprint for it and everything. We actually had like a whole layout. It was that thick, of going through everything that we were gonna do and how we were gonna do it. And, I mean, I cried a few times thinking about it.

We’ve had so many people that we’ve met. The SEVENDUST community is a very close thing. We did not have the luxury of a major label or the major label money, so we grinded it from the beginning and then got really mistreated in the middle of our career, like horribly mistreated. And the people stood there long enough for us to get our legs back, and then when we finally found somebody that really knew that we could trust that knew the game and knew how to make it work, we were so beat up. And the people started coming back a little more and more and more, and it just became this thing where it’s, like, ‘Oh, man. I’ve known these people from being out there so much.’ And when you overtour yourself, you see these people a lot. And they become people you’re going to dinner with or going to lunch with, or having coffee with, or whatever it might be. And you’re doing it consistently. And then one day you’re just, like, ‘We’re gonna wrap it all up.’ And I’m, like, ‘That means they died.’ Because I never see them outside of this. So that means it’ll be like every gig will be another death in the family. It’ll be another group of people that I know from that, and I also know from being around them, and it’s, like, there’s thousands of them. So that’s like a thousand people that you care about dying in a year and a half. So I got really emotional about it, and then when it was decided we’re not gonna do that, I got just rejuvenated. [I didn’t have to] face that now. It got really exciting. I hadn’t felt that kind of, like, ‘I’m ready to break some shit now. I wanna tear something up.’ And we just got back from a two-month run in Europe, and I felt like it was ’97 again.”

  • Phil Labonte Says The Advice GWAR’s Dave Brockie Gave Oli Herbert In 2004 Helped Save All That Remains

Phil Labonte (All That Remains) has shared a new tribute for the late Dave Brockie (GWAR). According to him, Brockie helped save his band in 2004 after imparting some wisdom on the late Oli Herbert.

Labonte said the following while responding to a post from Rock Feed:

“Lemme tell ya how Dave saved ATR early in our career.

In the fall of 2004, we were on tour with GWAR. It was the first real tour we’d ever done, and every night was packed. Even as the opening act, we were playing to a full house.

Halfway through the tour, Oli‘s wife gave him an ultimatum. She’d quit her job, told him he had to come home, and threatened to leave him if he didn’t drop off the tour. Oli felt horrible. “She’s my wife,” he said. “I have to go.”

That same night, after the show, Dave Brockie pulled him aside. And understand: Dave was the lead singer of the headlining band. We were a nobody band from Massachusetts. Who were we? But Dave took Oli out with a bottle of whiskey and a joint, and they talked until bus call.

When Oli came back, he was a different man.

“Fuck her. This is my life’s dream. She knew that when she married me. If she wants to leave, she can leave. But I’m not leaving this tour, and I’m not quitting the band.”

Dave had told Oli something that really hit home. He said, “if you do this, she will push you around for the rest of your life.”

    He was right.

I’m forever grateful for that Gwar tour. For what it did for All That Remains. but more importantly what it did for my friend Oli.

Thanks, Dave. Miss and love you, man.”

  • New Idea Society Premiere “Dancing Horse” Music Video

New Idea Society, the project featuring Stephen Brodsky (Cave In, Mutoid Man) and Mike Law (Wild Arrows, Euclid), have premiered a new video for their new song “Dancing Horse.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Fire On The Hill,” which will be released on May 15 via Relapse Records.

    Law commented:

“Part of ‘Dancing Horse‘ first appeared all the way back in 2007 and it took a lot of forms over the years that never quite worked. Then out of nowhere it arrived somehow fully re-formed and totally realized into one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of. The original idea started on an August night in Budapest and was tied together one August morning in 2024 back in Massachusetts. It was one of those moments where Steve reached deep and found something that had been floating around in another universe and brought it to ours.”

    Brodsky added:

“I remember listening to Mike’s original demo for ‘Dancing Horse‘— it was a shoegaze thing with one lyric that shone brightly through the sonic haze: ‘There’s a dancing horse on my roof.’ My fiancé had just hung a horseshoe above the front door of our home. A native Texan, she explained that a horseshoe points up to catch luck and then flips over to rain it down… suddenly, that one line from the demo spawned a whole other thing in my head. I’m grateful that Mike was receptive to me taking a brilliant seed of his imagination and going off to the races with it.”
