Kid Bookie has premiered a new video for his latest single “Blame.” As previously reported, that track also features Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour).
Kid Bookie previously commented:
“Over the years, facing myself and the reflection that comes with the mirror isn’t always an easy one. Accountability is the removal of ego and pride to see beyond your own nose, to allow yourself the room to grow via ownership of your actions. I’m around some of the best people who practise that in more ways than one. Corey and I have been working with each other for nearly a decade, but I feel this record is a coming of age, even for us. New territory, but a familiar approach to make sure we embolden each other through music. This song is almost a therapy session for me, and not just via my own lyrics, but to how Corey has made me feel by exposing himself so bare in this record, truly an honour to keep pushing the envelope with someone who has just pushed it as far as it can go, but has completely revamped what the envelope fucking is.”
Taylor added:
“Books is one of my favourite people, not just artists, and every time he comes to me with an opportunity to create with him, I’m always excited because I know I’m going to hear something I’ve never heard before. ‘Blame’ was so good the first time I heard it, I signed on without even knowing what I’d do! Khemmis have premiered a new video for their new song “Invocation Of The Dreamer.” That track will appear on the band’s new self-titled album, which is set to be released on June 12.
Guitarist/vocalist Ben Hutcherson commented:
“We knew that this song had to be the first single in much the same way we knew it had to be the album opener—it is an undeniable ripper. ‘Invocation Of The Dreamer‘ kicks the front door in, flips over your coffee table, and sets your living room on fire. It has everything you’d expect from a Khemmis song—big riffs, harmonized guitars, infectious vocal melodies—along with a slew of surprises, including blastbeats and a scorching bass break.”
He also added the following about the album:
“We decided early in the songwriting process that we wanted to write a tight, high-energy album that retained the essential ‘Khemmis sound’ while also embodying the joy of creating, experiencing, and loving heavy metal. Ours have always been deeply personal songs born from tragedy and sorrow; while the songs on Khemmis are still undeniably dark—I don’t think we’re capable of writing ‘happy’ music nor can we disentangle our music from our own personal experiences—they are not mined from our suffering.
Instead, this record is a celebration of the music world that has sustained us, both individually and collectively, and has also gifted us with community and a sense of meaning. Social Distortion have premiered a new song titled “Partners In Crime.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Born To Kill,” which will be released on May 8. Frontman Mike Ness commented:
“‘Partners In Crime’ is about finding your voice, especially if you weren’t allowed or if it didn’t matter. And finding comfort in others who share the same sentiment, angst and rage. Strength in unity.”
Evergrey have officially welcomed Stephen Platt (Scar Symmetry) to the band as their new guitarist. He will serve as a replacement for Henrik Danhage, who recently exited the group.
The band commented:
“We played a lot of shows with Stephen Platt already, he’s an incredibly lovely human being on top of being a brilliant guitar player, we couldn’t be happier to have him join us for real!”
Platt added:
“I’m so happy to become the new guitarist of Evergrey. I’ve been a fan of the band for a long time now and am extremely honored to have been asked by this group of incredible musicians and people. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds!”
With this news, Evergrey have also shared a new video for their new song “The World Is On Fire.” That track is from the band’s new album, “Architects Of A New Weave,” which will be released on June 5. Frontman Tom S. Englund commented:
“‘The World Is On Fire’ was one of those rare songs that reached inside me and articulated feelings I hadn’t even fully recognized yet. Once again, our timing, just as with the song ‘Save Us’ is both haunting and profound. To me, this isn’t just a lament — it’s an uprising. It’s a defiant stand against the forces that thrive on chaos, fear, and silence. They want us scared, quiet, and compliant. Primal Fear bassist Mat Sinner will be sitting out the band’s South American tour due to injury. During his absence, Gamma Ray’s Dirk Schlächter will fill in.
The group commented:
“An important message to all our fans about the South American Tour.
Sadly we have to tell you that Mat won’t be able to join the band on the forthcoming shows in ARG & BRA. Mat lost a fight against a drumriser in London and slashed his right leg in a very evil way. After some more shows the doctors in Norway planned to have a surgery on his leg because the infection was already on a bad level and to prevent a sepsis. Mat is now at home and needs to recover for another 3-4 weeks to avoid any operation. Doctors say it would be a huge risk to sit in a plane for 15 hours – health comes first.
This wasn’t an easy decision. We know many of you were looking forward to seeing us together on stage and Mat is truly sorry for any disappointment this may cause. We promise to give 200% on the shows and Mat will be replaced by Gamma Ray’s Dirk Schlächter.

-(16)- are streaming their cover of Black Flag’s “Beat My Head Against The Wall.” You can check that out below. The track is from on the band’s new covers album, “Forgeries Vol 1 (1972 – 1984),” which will be released on May 1. Vocalist/guitarist Bobby Ferry said the following about the single:
“Black Flag’s ‘Beat My Head Against The Wall’ was my first real fracture. Punk stopped being us vs them. They turned the blade inward. It became me vs. me, and in retrospect, this song served as the template for the whole inception of (16). We formed in 1992, only eight years after this song was released. A majority of the notes we play can be traced back to this. Instead of ripping it off for 34 years, we finally surrendered and just covered it.”
The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen was recently bitten by a “massive spider” while touring with AC/DC in Mexico. Ironically, this news comes after the singer was previously bitten by a bat while touring with AC/DC in Spain. Momsen commented:
“🕷️🕷️🕷️ So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit…this time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system so had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night…add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl? 🕷️🕷️🕷️🦇🦇🦇 WTF 😬”
