  • Former Saliva Singer Josey Scott On Bobby Amaru: “He Did Everything He Could Possibly Do But Become Me”

Former Saliva singer Josey Scott is continuing to take aim at the band’s current frontman Bobby Amaru. The two have been involved in a war of words and the animosity has even extended to Scott’s latest singles. With this in mind, Scott blasted Amaru once again, saying “he did everything he could possibly do but become [him].”

Scott said the following about the recent back and forth on the Carr Stereo Podcast With Terrie Carr.

“Well, it’s just heartbreaking. The one word I could put to it is it’s heartbreaking to see something that you created from the ground up, that you were a founding member of, and then to get treated like you are this lowly, disgruntled old employee is just crazy to me. Like Will Ferrell says, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

I don’t know how to explain it. You never know the darkness that lurks in a man’s heart. You don’t know how people are going to react. I heard somebody say the other day, they said, if you wanna see how somebody really is, give them fame and money. And that’s true, because we certainly were given a little bit of fame and money, and we came apart at the end of the runway, like any other plane that was trying to land with no landing gear.

Wayne Swinny, my blessed lead guitar player in SALIVA, who I adored, he was famous before we were famous in Memphis. He was in a band called TNA that was gigantic there in Memphis, along with TORA TORA and ROXY BLUE back in the late ’80s, early ’90s. And I’d always dreamed of being a band with him. And to be able to take that journey with Wayne Swinny from the beginning was just so magical. And then to watch it sort of be whittled down to just him there in what I call the last days of Wayne’s life and the last days of SALIVA. We had talked about doing a reunion tour with Chris Dabaldo, the original [SALIVA guitar player].”

He continued after it was mentioned how reuniting some of Saliva’s original members “got muddied”:

“And not only to have those waters muddied, but to then be blamed for muddying those waters. I was, like, ‘How is this my fault?’ I’m trying to play fair and to do this. I’m trying to actively, with a positive attitude, do this. I think this will be great for the fans, number one that were begging us to do it, begging us to have a reunion of the original members. And to have those waters muddied by somebody who wasn’t even in the picture in the beginning, who was a child — this guy was a child when we were releasing ‘Click Click Boom’. This guy was a kid. He was still trying to kiss a girl and go on a date. He was 15, 16 years old. So to have those waters muddied by that person, it’s just heartbreaking. I keep coming back to that word. And then Wayne called me and said, ‘Well, it doesn’t look like the reunion is gonna happen, so will you come out to Blue Ridge music festival and do the encore with the guys?’ They wanted me to come out and do ‘Always’, ‘Your Disease’ and ‘Click Click Boom’. And I was, like, ‘Yes, Wayne. Of course.’

People go into a burning building to save who they love, and I felt like I wanted to look Wayne in the face one more time and experience being on stage with him one more time by hook or crook — I didn’t care.”

He also shared insight into the discussions he had with Amaru before Blue Ridge:

“It’s funny because even the negotiations for me to come just do three songs, [we went] back and forth with this guy. And then, of course, his management blamed me, said I was a diva and I was demanding all this stuff. That is just totally untrue. It was him that was demanding.

It took me a minute, but I figured out his game. His game is he does these things, then blames you for doing these things. This is my experience with that person. You sort of throw your hands up and go, ‘What’s happening?’ And then they blame you. They go into the press and they go to their little minions and their outlets and they blame you. They say you’re the problem, you’re the one doing the things. And I was just baffled.

You gotta give the kid credit for playing multidimensional chess with this. And I told my wife one time, I said, this guy has his fingers in every pie. Once I looked into it, he was the tour manager, he was the business manager, he was booking shows — he was like the fricking Swiss Army knife of lead singers. He did everything he could possibly do but become me.”

  • Former Guns N’ Roses Manager Alan Niven Files Lawsuit After Accusing The Band Of Blocking The Release Of His Memoir

Former Guns N’ Roses manager Alan Niven has filed a new lawsuit against the band. He made the move after accusing them of blocking the release of his memoir “Sound N’ Fury: Rock N’ Roll Stories.” That book was delayed several times and it is now set to be released on March 31.

The complaint says Guns N’ Roses “blocked publication of the book through repeated threats to Niven and contact with” publisher ECW Press. It continued:

“[Guns N’ Roses wrote a letter] invok[ing] the confidentiality clause in its 1991 buyout agreement with Niven… despite the [fact that] the agreement was not signed by all of its members; GN’R’s members have commented publicly on Niven; one member encouraged him to write the book; and he has been speaking about his time in GN’R for over a decade.”

    Niven’s attorney also added:

“Publication has been delayed for months, even though it received a favorable review from the Los Angeles Times, and has received many preorders.”

  • John Joseph (Bloodclot, Etc.) Blasts Activist Bands For Not “Fighting The System” During The Pandemic Years

John Joseph (Bloodclot, ex-Cro-Mags) previously made headlines for blasting vaccine requirements and perceived government overreach during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it appears he is still not over the safety protocols. The musician recently took to social media to call out activist bands for their response during that era.

    Joseph said the following:

“Why is it that 99.9% of the bands who made a living putting out records over the years about “fighting the system” didn’t release a single fcking song against the bullsht “the system” pulled in 2020 and the years that followed? Answer: They were either scared of getting cancelled by the online muppets – or they backed what “the system” was doing.

As for us we were sneaking into studios during the illegal lckdowns to make a record that spoke truth to power. “SOULS” – the opening line of the title track says it all- “Caught in a vicious cycle, ever impending deth – darkness pushed illusion – spoken through their breath – nature holds what they deny – humans forced to d*e – madmen at the controls – for the manipulation of souls.”

He also shared more thoughts in the comment section. Among the things stated there was the following:

“the only dudes who got their panties in a bunch over this post are the ones who drank the kool aid……..”

  • BLACKGOLD Drop Off CKY’s Bristol, UK Show After Having Issues With Chad I Ginsburg

BLACKGOLD have dropped off CKY’s November 4 show at The Fleece in Bristol, UK. The band cancelled their set after having issues with CKY vocalist/guitarist Chad I Ginsburg.

The group said the following in a new video:

“What’s happening people of Bristol? Unfortunately we will not make the show this evening. We can not do another gig next to the frontman of CKY. We can not support that type of narcissism. Our whole touring party just doesn’t want to be around it. We want to play for you guys and we do this for fun, but this has turned not fun. We can not be around that guy.

So unfortunately, we are out. We will be back real soon to play another show. We thought this was gonna be fun, little bit of nostalgia to end the year for us, but it turned out to be absolutely horrendous. We can’t support it. But hey, at least we got to see a really bad vocal cover of [“96 Quite Bitter Beings“.] Fuck Chad.”

They also added the following in a caption:

“PEOPLE OF BRISTOL. It hurts to say that we won’t be playing Bristol tonight.

Our whole touring crew cannot perform alongside the frontman of CKY. The level of disrespect we’ve been shown by this individual, leaves us no choice but to exit. Don’t be a narcissist, don’t be a dick..

We’ll be back soon with a headline. #knowyourworth”

  • Born From Pain Premiere “MY WAR” Music Video

Born From Pain have premiered a new video for their new song “MY WAR.” This track is from the band’s new EP, “SIEGE MENTALITY,” which will be released on November 20. The group said the following about the single:

“‘MY WAR‘ is an uncompromising anthem and declaration of war on a personal level in a world that’s becoming more chaotic and relentless by the day. A genuine musical and lyrical statement about what is truly important and worth fighting for in life.”

  • Scott Weiland’s Son Noah To Pay Tribute To His Late Father During Orange County Show

Noah Weiland, son of the late Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots), will be marking the 10th anniversary of his father’s death with a tribute show at the Garden AMP in Orange County, CA on December 3. Jakob Nowell, son of the late Bradley Nowell (Sublime), and Ameer Isaiah will open.

Noah told Rolling Stone the following about the show:

“My old therapist gave me the idea to throw a party, get-together for my father. I didn’t even realize it was about to be 10 years until he brought it up. My brain started cooking ideas up instantly.”

“Considering we thought of this whole thing and locked it in two weeks ago, I got a whole lot of rehearsals, AA meetings, and praying to do. I’m keeping [the setlist a] surprise. Just expect hits from different eras and even some deep cuts, underrated songs. I’ll definitely do a solo song or two of my own tunes, but they will be more rock and grunge based to fit the vibe of the show.”

“I can honestly say I’ve had a very tough posthumous relationship with my father. Most of my life I grew up on rap music, but I always go through deep phases of listening to other genres. Lately, it’s been mostly rock bands that I have been tapped in with again, and I definitely have a place in my heart for my dad’s music.”

“It’ll be chilling. Very surreal, like a throwback to the tours I grew up going on as a kid, but instead I’m performing… We want it to be an experience rather than just a concert.”

He also commented on Nowell’s appearance:

“Jakob and I have known each other for a grip now. Mind you, he’s doing this show with me even after the little beef we had for a brief moment. And the fact that we were able to put aside our pride, talk about our differences like adults and still show love, makes me love the dude even more.”

He also revealed that he hasn’t talked to his father’s Stone Temple Pilots bandmates:

“I really haven’t talked with any of them in almost a decade now. I’m not sure if it has something to do with their relationship to my mom, but she isn’t in my life either. I’m always open to catching up.”

He also added that his main focus is his son:

“Being a dad is hard and it makes me forgive my father for his struggles. It wasn’t his fault and he wasn’t even all that bad when the dude wasn’t all too sober. I wish I could’ve spent more time with him regardless of where he was in life, which is why I’ll always make time for my son Anakin.”

He also added the following about future shows:

“The goal is that if this show goes well, we want to do a mini ‘Encore Tour’ with the same exact setup and setlist. I’d love to take this all the way.”

Before the concert, Noah plans to release a new mixtape titled “Crashout Junkie.” Musically , the effort will include elements of grunge, rock, rap, hyperpop, and more.

  • New Found Glory Premiere New Song “Treat Yourself”

New Found Glory have premiered a new song titled “Treat Yourself” This track is from the band’s new album “Listen Up!,” which will be released on February 20. Guitarist Chad Gilbert said the following about the single:

“This is a fast more west coast punk style song. It’s about how people are very hard on themselves when it comes to mistakes and failure and how a lot of that is put on by false expectations of the world and people around you. People seem to forget about the hard times they already have been through and conquered in their past, which should be a reminder that they are capable of getting through tough times. A reminder that we are our own worst enemies at times and we have to give ourselves a break. We gotta treat our own selves better.”
