• A.A. Williams Signs With Reigning Phoenix Music, Shares Animated Video For New Song “Just A Shadow”

A.A. Williams has signed a new deal with Reigning Phoenix Music. With this news, the musician has also shared an animated video for her new song “Just A Shadow”:

    Williams commented:

“‘Just A Shadow’ is an ode to the darkness inside. A part of you since you can remember, a cruel friend lurking just outside of view. A presence that you’ve accepted, its familiarity brings cold comfort. You’ve tried to resist it and step into the light, but you’re scared that you’re nothing without the dark.”

    RPM co-founder Gerardo Martinez added:

“A.A. Williams is one of the most compelling voices in contemporary music. She is unafraid to explore vulnerability with a rare poetic depth. We’re honored to welcome her to the RPM family, and ‘Just A Shadow’ is a stunning introduction to what we’ll build together.”

    UADA commented:

“It has been a profound honor to play a central role in assembling this distinctive and richly diverse touring package. The line-up carries deep personal history and influence for me, while also embodying some of the most cherished milestones of my own musical journey.

As someone who has always appreciated the artistry of thoughtfully mixed bills—an approach that feels increasingly rare in today’s landscape—this particular combination is especially meaningful and should deliver a strikingly unique, yet cohesive experience for those in attendance.

Above all, this tour is my gift to the fans: an opportunity to witness a moment that may never come again, to discover extraordinary talents they might not yet know, and to share an evening that I sincerely hope will live on as an unforgettable memory.”

    Mortiis added:

“While creating and uncreating, sometimes composing, and occasionally violently invoking, the music and sounds that are set to be my new album, it is growing increasingly apparent to me, that I am occasionally calling upon some old ghosts of the past.

I can hear (sometimes clearly, other times faintly) some musical echoes from The ‘Smell Of Rain’ days, not to mention new sounds of the blurry, faint, but unmistakably strange, future, that is yet to unfold.

It seems natural to me, to now unearth several of the songs from ‘The Smell Of Rain’ (and other music, of similar dispirit!) as a first step into the bleak dystopian dreamscapes Mortiis appears to be heading into from here on out.

So here I am, clawing through a quarter century old recordings, preparing for 2026.”

  • Bullet For My Valentine To Begin Recording New Album In February

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone Brasil, Bullet For My Valentine vocalist/guitarist Matt Tuck offered a new update on the band’s upcoming album. According to him, the group are planning to start the recording process in February.

    Tuck said the following:

“The album is still in the writing and the pre-production phase. I think January 5th, we’ve got to get back in to finish that, and I think around the 1st of February, we’ve set aside the time to actually track the album for real.

It’s taken us a bit longer than we anticipated, but a lot of things have come up very last minute, but that’s okay. I’ve got my guitar here [at the hotel room during Bullet For My Valentine’s Latin American tour], we’ve got laptops here, we’re cracking on in the hotel and having fun and being creative. Hopefully we’ll have new music out around April, May time; that’s what we’re aiming for.”

    He also added:

“If I had to describe what the album feels like, it’s a cross between the last album [2021’s ‘Bullet For My Valentine’], [2010’s] ‘Fever’ and [2005’s] ‘The Poison’. It really feels like it’s a mash-up of all those really big moments for our band. And it’s not something we’ve tried to do: that’s just how this writing process has been. We’ve just kind of just gone with it. I think genuinely this album is going to appeal to a lot of people. I think it’s got all the right ingredients that people have loved about Bullet For My Valentine. Could it be the most definitive Bullet record yet? Possibly, yeah. We’re excited.”

  • Matt Zane Launches Crowdfunding Campaign For Wayne Static And Tera Wray Documentary Despite Oppositions From Their Families

Matt Zane has launched an Indiegogo for an unauthorized documentary on Wayne Static (Static-X) and Tera Wray. The filmmaker, who was a close friend of the late married couple, is planning to begin production on the project in January. Zane’s decision to move forward with the film comes after Static and Wray’s families recently objected to it.

    Zane said the following:

“Wayne Static and Tera Wray asked me to create this about their life.

I am an award winning director with hundreds of music videos to my name as well as two documentaries. Some people I have worked with in the past are Zakk Wylde, John 5, DMC and many more.

My hope is that this project will present Wayne and Tera‘s relationship in a way that they wanted the world to see them.

The funds will be used to provide filming and editing costs. The goal is to complete the project within a year’s time.

There are some great perks and you will be directly responsible for helping Wayne and Tera‘s vision become a reality.”

He also added the following in a new video:

“My name is Matt Zane and it is my goal with your help to complete a documentary that Wayne Static and Tera Wray asked me to film about their life.

Wayne hired me for every film related project after he left Static-X, including the ‘Pighammer‘ promo. The ‘Assassins Of Youth‘ video, and his last music video, ‘Noise Revolution‘”‘ with DMC. We were never able to complete the project in 2014 due to funding, but we did have plans to continue filming at a later time.

Unfortunately, that never happened due to Wayne‘s untimely passing. But now, with your help, Wayne and Tera‘s story can finally be told. I knew Wayne for 15 years and actually met and worked with his wife, Tera, before they were married.

We became close over the course of their seven-year relationship. And I was with them during pivotal moments, which gives me the ability to provide a unique perspective of their lives. I also have never before seen footage that will be included in a documentary for the first time.

Another exciting aspect of this project is that I worked on music with Wayne that is unreleased that will be featured within the film in some form. Please join me on this journey, creating a documentary for my friends Wayne and Tera, presenting their life in a way that they would have wanted to be seen: as themselves, madly in love, obsessed with each other in a wild world that they created. I thank everyone for their support and I’m looking forward to getting started on this amazing and exciting new project.”
