That record changed everything, and getting to rip through our favorite songs from it every night – alongside a bunch of newer Cryptopsy tracks from ‘An Insatiable Violence‘ – feels like honoring where we came from while showing exactly where we are now. These shows alongside our friends in Necrot, Fulci and Blood Monolith are going to be violent, cathartic and unforgettable.”

  • Held. (Coheed And Cambria, The Sleeping) Share Video For “NEW YOU ANTHEM” Featuring My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero

Held., the new band featuring Coheed And Cambria’s Josh Eppard and The Sleeping’s Douglas Robinson and Sal Mignaro, have premiered a new video for their new song “NEW YOU ANTHEM.” The track, which features Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), will appear on the group’s new album, “GREY,” which is set to be released on May 15.

Robinson said the following about the single:

“I wrote the idea for this song in my room. I was motivated to write something anthemic, not for the sake of being purely anthemic but more or less therapeutic for people who feel down all of the time. I feel this a lot in my life. It’s a heavy vibe I have to push through more times than not. I wanted to write something that encapsulates the feeling of any kind of love as survival.

I reference different points of love throughout the song: music, friendship, sound, belief in yourself, and the desire for others to believe in you. It’s subtle but it’s all there: ‘if our infection is loving, then we’re drinking up to the swell of the sun.’ I wrote this as an ode to people who love all elements in their lives with so much passion. Even if you feel yourself beaten and broken down every single day.”

    Iero added:

“My Chemical Romance played a few shows with The Sleeping on the East Coast way back in the day, and I have always been a fan of Douglas’ voice and songwriting. Recently, when my friend Mike Dubin hit me up and said he was managing Douglas’ new project with Josh from Coheed on drums, another mutual friend, and that they were wondering if I’d be interested in singing on a song, I immediately said yes.

It’s always a pleasure getting to work with new people; it opens doors and makes your brain work in different ways. Especially when those people are artists that you respect and are already a fan of. I’m flattered they wanted to have me on the record and I think the track turned out super rad. ‘NEW YOU ANTHEM’ is a great song, and our voices work together really well.”

Eppard also discussed how the band came together:

“Woodstock has long been a beacon for artists across all genres. The town, in its guts, is home to world class musicians and studios and has served as a sandbox of sorts for the three of us throughout our careers. It feels awfully serendipitous that our first time playing together was in that town, in a studio (Applehead studios) where we’d all crafted career defining albums with our previous projects.

Personally, I felt the hands of the universe at play when Michael Birnbaum (longtime Coheed/The Sleeping producer) called me and said ‘Yo, Doug and Sal are coming through… wanna jam?’ To be honest I’ve gotten quite a few of those kinds of calls over the years. This time, I said yes.”

    “GREY” Track Listing:

    01. “DEFENDING THE EARTH“
    02. “NEW YOU ANTHEM” (feat. Frank Iero)
    03. “CONSTANT TENSION“
    04. “KNIFEPOINT” (feat. High Vis)
    05. “WAVES OF FIRE“
    06. “GREY“
    07. “I AND I AGAINST YOU ALL“
    08. “THROUGH THE CRACKS“
    09. “BROKEN SPACESUIT (DECAY AND SAND)“
    10. “EMPTINESS: A SIDE EFFECT“

  • Heavy Heavy Low Low Appear To Have Called It Quits

It looks like Heavy Heavy Low Low have broken up. Guitarist/vocalist Danny Rankin initially commented on the split, accusing vocalist Robbie Smith of selling merch and taking the profits for himself. However, Smith has since disputed those claims.

    Rankin initially the following:

    “True ending of HeavyHeavyLowLow:

Rob (Singer) locked us out of the IG and used it to sell out merch on a personal Shopify to make $ to move to Florida.

I mentioned that it sucks to post shirts everyday with no intent for shows and he quit the band, blocked me for weeks, and still posted shirt for personal gain.

Its been a month and no one else in the band seems to give a shit that hes making us look thirsty as fuck / low key stealing from us / ghosting one of the other members.

Mans throwing away the band and a 20 year relationship for a couple hundred dollars (current msrp on moving to Florida)”

    Smith then responded:

“None of us want to be in a band with Danny.

I okayed selling the shirts with the entire band. Even Danny. But after a couple weeks, Danny had deemed it “uncool”, “desperate”, and now “thirsty”. No one else in the band thought this and they never have. They supported me because we are and remain friends.

We’ve been dealing with Danny’s increasingly erratic and downright manic behavior since we reunited a few years ago. Always walking on egg shells around him, worried we’d upset his fragile ego and have to deal with the fallout involved w that. It wasn’t worth it. So we worked around it.. That was our mistake for letting that go on so long.

Danny claims the band has been locked out of IG. That isn’t true. One only needs to follow Danny’s personal account for a period of time to realize why we’ve never shared it with him. I talk to everyone in the band, sans Danny, often. No one is jilted.. except Danny.

What Danny is doing is panicking very publicly about not being a part of the only thing that makes him “cool”, this silly band. A band I quit last tour because of his bullying, his ungrateful attitude, and the unpleasantness of having to cater to an adult who acts like a toddler.

I did a lot for this band. A lot. To be accused of stealing by someone I once called a friend is heartbreaking, especially when I know that he knows what damage an accusation like that can cause. I have never stolen from this band. I gave this band everything the last few years. Time, energy, money, blood, sweat, tears. All Danny ever did was show up and take. And complain.

So, yeah, we’re done. No future here.

We wish him the best of luck and hope he gets the help he needs.”

UPDATE: Rankin has since fired back:

    “SORRY ABOUT ALL THE DRAMA.

    QUIP SUM UP:

IVE BEEN TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE BAND FOR LIKE A MONTH ABOUT ROBS EXCESSIVE PERSONAL SHIRT POST. EVREYONE ELSE ENABLES ROB TO RUN HIS LITTLE SHOW SO THEY KINDA JUST IGNORE AND LET ROB RUN US INTO THE GROUND.

I TRIED TO EXPRESS AND COMMUNCATE TO HIM AND THE OTHER BANDMATES ABOUT IT FOR WEEKS…

    NO ONE CARED.

WAS TIRED OF ROB POSTING ON OUR BEHALF AND MAKING US LOOK DUMB ESPECIALLY WHEN HE QUIT AND BLOCKED ME. NOW MAKING ME PART OF THIS THIRSTY LOOKING BAND

AFTER WEEKS OF TRYING TO COMMUNICATE I POST ON MY STORY. IT GAINS TRACTION. ROB UNBLOCKS FOR JUST ENOUGH TIME TO TALK SHIT THEN BLOCK AGAIN GOES LIVE AND TALKS SHIT ABOUT ME FOR HOURS WHILE ALSO TRTING TO GAIN MORE MONEY AND POSTS HIS VENMO

    WE (ROB) ARE EMBARRASSING AF”

    He also added:

“BOYCOTT OUR BAND AND GET A REFUND ON A SHIRT IF YOU BOUGHT ONE RECENTLY.”

  • Bodysnatcher Premiere “The Maker” Music Video

Bodysnatcher have premiered a new video for their new song “The Maker.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home,” which will be released on April 10.

Bassist Kyle Shope commented on the song:

“‘The Maker‘ is a raw, visceral song. Bodysnatcher has always been known for unrelenting heaviness but ‘The Maker‘ seems to be an even darker, more intense direction. Revenge and retaliation are themes we often use in our lyrics, however ‘The Maker‘ is a more direct approach. This song is as heavy as we could make it and I know the energy is going to be electric when it is played live.”

Drummer Chris Whited also discussed the album:

“I’d say a lot of today’s world plays into this album. We really feel that listeners across the globe can find something to connect with in these songs. There’s a strong sense of retaliation this time around, it feels like choosing violence, fighting back against a world that feels morally lost right now.”

    Guitarist Kyle Carter continued:

“I won’t lie. This was a hard album to put together. Every writing session was met with dead ends for months, but we were able to come out the other side with 15 demos and ended with 10 of the best songs we’ve ever made. The album is based around revenge and not bending over for people.

I hope others can hear these songs and come to the same realizations we have while putting this together. Life is too short to let people walk on you or take advantage of you. Humans are monsters who betray, abuse, neglect, murder, and sometimes it feels like we’re too comfortable in the Hell that we’re in.”

    The band added:

“We’re extremely excited to finally stad sharing this album with everyone. We think it’s the bands strongest work. We finally accomplished the sound we ‘ve been aiming for from the start.”

“Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home” Track Listing:

    01. “The Maker“
    02. “Writhe And Coil“
    03. “Plague Of Flies“
    04. “May Your Memory Rot“
    05. “Violent Obsession“
    06. “No Savior“
    07. “Blade Between The Teeth“
    08. “Two Empty Caskets“
    09. “Survive Or Die” (feat. Terror’s Scott Vogel)
    10. “Hell Is Home“
