“It’s when you realize the reality of a situation where you’ve been deceived,” explains Myles Kennedy. “You see the truth and how harsh it is.”

    Mark Tremonti added:

“I was excited for this one. It has an atmospheric vibe with a lot of peaks, valleys, and moods. I solo over the bridge, and Myles plays the outro.”

  • Puscifer Premiere New Song “ImpetuoUs”

Puscifer have premiered a new song titled “ImpetuoUs.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Normal Isn’t,” which will be released on February 6.

Maynard James Keenan commented on the single:

“I’m looking forward to hearing where this song takes people. As the writers, we forget that in a way, we are carpenters and that we’ve been with this song since it was a pile of lumber. Our Perspective may differ from the final occupant of this space we’ve constructed. Shelter, Bridge or Gallows, Coffin? Curious to find out.”

A press release also added the following about the visualizer:

“The accompanying visualizer offers a first look at the Puscifer comic book series, ‘Tales From The Pusciverse.’ The debut issue spotlights the character Bellendia Black, originally introduced in the ‘Pendulum’ video. Additional details about the series, launching in tandem with ‘Normal Isn’t,’ will be announced soon.”

  • Distant Premiere “Nothing Left To Hate” Music Video

Distant have premiered a new video for their new song “Nothing Left To Hate.” The band commented:

“‘Nothing Left To Hate’ is Distant at full destructive force — thicker riffs, deeper grooves, and a raw dive into self-destruction and chaos. The track is made for circle-pits, rage workouts, and letting the anger out.”

  • Judas Priest’s Rob Halford Celebrates 40 Years Of Sobriety

Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford recently took to social media to celebrate 40 years of sobriety. The singer says he is “grateful for the person [he] became and every challenge [he has] faced that made [him] stronger.”

    Halford said the following:

“Hi, everyone. Today I stand here with deep gratitude and thankfulness as I celebrate 40 years of sobriety.

Four decades ago, I made a decision to change the entire course of my life, stepping out of darkness into the light, toward the future I couldn’t see. As I’ve said before, it wasn’t easy, and still isn’t.

Recovery asks for complete honesty, humility and a willingness to grow one day at a time. With the love and support from my higher power, my family, friends and fans helping me guiding the way, I kept moving forward.

Over these years, I’ve learned that sobriety isn’t just about staying clean, it’s the presence of clarity, purpose and connectivity — a gift of showing up for my life each day for the people I love.

I’m grateful for the person I became and every challenge I’ve faced that made me stronger.

To those of you who may be considering that first step on to the journey with me, I hope that my own journey proves that recovery is possible. Hope is real, and each day at a time is a chance to begin again.

    I love you.”

  • Woman Featured On The Cover Of Deftones’ “Around The Fur” Reflects On The Iconic Photo

Jenkem have shared a new video focusing on the cover of Deftones’ 1997 album “Around The Fur.” The clip features Lisa Hughes, who was featured in the iconic artwork, as well as photographer Rick Kosick and art director Kevin Reagan.

Kosick said the following about the shoot:

“They invited me to come shoot photos during the recording of ‘Around The Fur‘ in Seattle, Washington. Not knowing what it’s going to become. I had no idea that this would make it to the album cover, at all. Maybe that’s why it worked, you know? ‘Cause there was not the intention, ‘I got to go there and shoot a cover,’ you know? Like, just go there and have fun, hang out, shoot photos, stay in your lane. That’s what I did.

They were kind of in their party phase stage of the band — as you probably should be — and so we went back to their their condo that they rented during the recording of this record, and there was this girl hanging out in the jacuzzi. And I just went up and took a couple… two photos. That’s it. Walked away.

Few weeks later, I get a call from the label. ‘Hey, come by and check this out. We want to show you something.’ And the art director [Kevin Reagan], he was like, ‘Well, what do you think?’ I was like, ‘Wow.’ I was blown away. I was like, ‘This is so cool looking. This looks… I love it’ — of course, I’m going to say I love it. It’s my photo — But I was just really… looking back, I was just really excited because it felt right after all the mockups and everything, this one looks incredible.”

    Hughes added:

“I found those articles, you know, about like [me allegedly] being a groupie and this and that. And I was like, maybe I should just start a little page just about myself and so people know that I’m Lisa. I’m just this awesome chick from Auburn, and I like to have fun. And there’s no groupie action going on here. Just me having a kick-ass time, you know?

It’s a pretty cool looking shot, right? Like with the fisheye lens just looking down. You know, it’s kind of risqué a little bit with my breasts, and people have asked, ‘Oh, look, you got a pimple there.’ I’m like, ‘Who gives a sh*t?’ What does that really matter? I’m a human being. I’m not a model and I could care less really. That’s me. It’s just cool looking. And if you look at the whole shot and the legs going into the hot tub, it just looks pretty awesome.”
