Alter Bridge Complete Work On New Album

Alter Bridge have officially finished recording and mixing their new album. The effort is expected to be released this fall. Bassist Brian Marshall tweeted the following from the band’s official account:

Alter Bridge Planning To Release New Album In The Fall

It looks like Alter Bridge are planning to release their new album in the fall. Mark Tremonti confirmed the news during an interview with Audio Ink Radio.

Tremonti said the following:

“I think the plan is to have it out this fall. I think maybe October is kind of the target.”

He also talked about the writing process:

“I’m in the process now where I’m up till four in the morning every night writing, writing, writing. And on [the Tremonti] tour, I’ll be recording demos and whatnot, so once we get off this tour, I’ll be going right into the studio with Alter Bridge through March and April. And then after that, we’ll do another Tremonti run, which will be the final Tremonti tour for this cycle. And then we’ll be setting up for the tour later on with Alter Bridge at the end of the year.”

He went on to talk about where the new material is headed:

“…It’s hard to explain. I’m trying to make it not be the same. We always try to reinvent ourselves with every record. Right now, it’s a little early [to tell], ’cause me and Myles haven’t gotten together. So far, it’s been me writing stuff and Myles writing stuff, and when we come together and combine the stuff, we really see what it’s gonna sound like. But I’m trying to make it sound a little different than it has in the past. We’ll see how it turns out.”

“[ALTER BRIDGE is] going into this studio after [TREMONTI’s] tour with SEVENDUST. We’re gonna go into studio in March and April. And then after that, I go back on tour with TREMONTI and then go back on tour with ALTER BRIDGE this winter.”

Alter Bridge Begin Writing For New Album

During a recent interview with My Global Mind, Myles Kennedy confirmed that Alter Bridge are currently writing material for their next album. He said the following:

”After I finish with the press today, I’ll get back to writing. Mark Tremonti has been doing the same thing. We will reconvene in April and make a record. There are a whole bunch of ideas being thrown around. It’s pretty exciting stuff. It is too early to tell what the vibe is just yet or what will make the cut. Mark and I tend to come up with a lot of ideas that we throw up against the wall to see what will stick. The songs we pick will decide the mood of the record and we won’t know that until April.”

“‘Words Darker Than Their Wings‘ was a song that we never played before ever and its been one of our favorites, especially me and Scott Phillips. That’s been one of our top 3 Alter Bridge songs since we wrote it and its just one of those songs that we have been trying and trying and trying to play live and Myles is always kind of pushing back about it and finally, you know with this orchestra he said this is the perfect time to do it. We did and it was the biggest reaction of both nights.”
