During a recent interview with 97.7 QLZ, Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti revealed the title of the band’s new album. The effort will be called “Pawns & Kings” and it is currently set to be released on October 14.
Tremonti said the following about his current plans:
“I just got off tour with Tremonti, my solo band and we toured the States with Chris Daughtry and the day after I got home I hit the studio with Alter Bridge.
I’m in the studio now. I’ll be heading there at two o’clock today and then once we finish in the studio I’ll be prepping for the first Sinatra show which is May 14th.
Then I head over to Europe on May 27th to tour with Tremonti. The Alter Bridge record will be getting mixed during this time and setting up for an October 14th release. That record is going to be called ‘Pawns & Kings.”
Then when I’m through with that tour in Europe I hope to put together a handful of shows over in Europe with the Sinatra guys. And you know while we’re over there hit some of our biggest markets with the big band stuff and from there who knows just staying busy.”
Alter Bridge have announced a headlining European/UK tour. Halestorm and Mammoth WVH will serve as support.

During a recent interview with RockSverige, Alter Bridge’s Mark Tremonti offered an update on the band’s new album. According to him, the effort “should come out in September.” He also added:
“Drums are done and bass is starting today [April 19]. I go in next week. We all went in to do pre-production. Myles [Kennedy] and I write demos and then one by one we’ll go through the demos until we’re satisfied with the record. We arranged 14 songs and then the producer’s, like, ‘Hey, here’s the moment of truth: we have to cut two of them.’ That’s the worst thing, so me and Myles were, like, ‘We’ll both cut one of the songs that we brought.'”
During a recent interview with Rock Titan, Alter Bridge’s Mark Tremonti revealed that the band are planning to start the recording process for their new album next week. He said the following about that:
“I just got off [tour] with [my solo band] TREMONTI about… last week, maybe. I hit the ground running. I had half a day off and went into the studio with ALTER BRIDGE. We’re doing pre-production right now. Drum tracking will probably start in about four days. And then I hit the road [again], head to Europe on May 27th through July 3rd. And then we’ll kind of see what happens between the window of that and our ALTER BRIDGE tour that kicks back off in November.”
During an interview with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio, Mark Tremonti revealed that Alter Bridge are planning to work on new music before returning to the road. The group are currently scheduled to enter the studio in April 2022.
Tremonti said the following:
“We’re doing new music first [before going back on the road]. An then me and Myles [Kennedy] will probably get together on our break in January to go over what we’ve written at that point, and then we’ll go in the studio. We have April scheduled for some studio time. I don’t know if we’ll finish things up in that time or what, but we need to get new music out before we go back on tour. It’s just been too long.”
He also added the following when asked if he has started writing new music:
“Oh, yeah. I’ve written just a few ideas, but just kind of gotten started.”
Alter Bridge have teamed up with Z2 Comics to create a new graphic novel called “Alter Bridge: Tour Of Horrors.” The effort will be released in November and it can be pre-ordered HERE. Lobel (Blacklist), and Carlos Olivares for a spine-tingling ride through the supernatural!”
Alter Bridge added:
“After 17 years making music and touring the world, there aren’t many opportunities for a rock band to do something they’ve never done before. After partnering with Josh and the whole Z2 staff to create ‘Alter Bridge: Tour Of Horrors‘, we can now check create a horror comic off our bucket list. We can’t wait for people to read this original story we came up with. It is equally exciting we are finally getting to release ‘One Day Remains‘ on vinyl thanks to this incredible partnership.”
Alter Bridge have premiered a new song titled “Last Rites ” This track is from the band’s new EP “Walk The Sky 2.0,“ which will be released on November 6. In addition to the aforementioned song, the effort will also feature various live tracks.
Alter Bridge have cancelled their summer European tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. With this news, the band have also confirmed that a decision has yet to be made regarding their postponed North American tour with Black Stone Cherry and Saint Asonia.
Alter Bridge said the following:
“As the world continues to develop in the response to the changes of the Covid-19 pandemic, it has become clear that no one can provide definitive answers as for how musicians, promoters, local crew, staff and fans can come together in a way that protects everyone and takes in to account the challenges of a world tour.
We have tried to hold out as long as we could, but it is becoming increasingly apparent that our ability to tour Europe this summer in a way our fans have come to expect is no longer an option. We have tried exploring every possibility, but with the different rules and capacities globally we have learned there is no adequate way to move forward.
As we have seen the effect of all of these changes on the world, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the entire European tour. We didn’t want to postpone and wait for an appropriate opportunity to return when so many people have had their lives impacted.
We felt at least by canceling, all the tickets that were sold would be refunded and your money returned to you as opposed to holding it until we could hit the road again. We have always appreciated the undying support of the fans around the globe and we felt this was the right decision to return that support you always give us.
As of this time, this is for the European tour, but there may be a chance you will hear from us again soon about the previous postponed US dates. We are exploring every opportunity to try and see our fans globally as soon as it is appropriate to do so.
Until we can gather together in a live concert setting, take care of yourselves and each other. We are in unprecedented times and our world is changing. It is on all of us to make it better for everyone so we can get together and celebrate our common love of music in the near future.
Alter Bridge have released a new video for “You Will Be Remembered” in honor of the workers on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. That track appears on the band’s 2016 album “The Last Hero.” The group commented:
“We wrote ‘You Will Be Remembered‘ as a tribute to anyone who gives themselves in service to others. In this current climate, those stories are around us every day and we just wanted to offer our own small visual tribute to some of those people. There are numerous stories and we want to thank everyone that is doing their part to get us through this unprecedented time. Thank You.”
Alter Bridge have postponed their spring tour with Black Stone Cherry and Saint Asonia due to the coronavirus pandemic. The shows will be rescheduled at a later date.
Alter Bridge commented:
“We hoped that it wouldn’t come to this, but as some of you have already heard unfortunately, due to recent changes around the globe created by the recent Covid-19 situation, the May headline tour of the United States with Black Stone Cherry and Saint Asonia will be postponed.
The health and safety of everyone attached to these shows (fans, artists, crew members, venue staff, etc) is our main priority. More information regarding rescheduled dates will be available in the future.
We look forward to the time when we can all come together and celebrate music as the community and family we are. Until then, Stay Home, Stay Healthy and Stay Safe…”
