  • Psycroptic Premiere “No Blade Of Grass” Music Video

    Psycroptic have premiered a new video for their new song “No Blade Of Grass.” That track will appear on the band’s new album, “The Pulse Of Annihilation,“ which will be released on July 17.

    Guitarist Joe Haley:

    “This one has a good blend of old-school Psycroptic-style riffage and slightly sludge filled, loosey-goosey sections straight outta the classic death metal era. The whole thing is brought together with the choral/orchestral chorus. Something for everyone! Going to be a fun one to rip live!”

    Bassist Todd Stern:

    “It’s an unbelievably catchy tune! The main verse is one of my favorite bits on the whole record. Classic riffage, steam rolling the whole song forward with solid momentum all along. Badass.”

    Vocalist Jason Peppiatt:

    “I had so much fun with this song as it was the first song that [touring vocalist Jason] Keyser had written for the band and it was awesome to have someone bring different ideas to the table than what I normally would. Vocally it’s nice and fast and has a real sick flow and groove to vocal parts.”

  • Fuming Mouth Premiere “Cheat Death” Music Video

    Fuming Mouth have premiered a new video for their new song “Cheat Death.” This is the band’s second track to feature new drummer Jay Weinberg (ex-Slipknot, ex-Suicidal Tendencies). The group’s new album, “The Ringing Bell,” will be released on July 17. Vocalist/guitarist Mark Whelan commented:

    “This is the opening song on our new album. It was important to me to start it with a blunt and positive message that didn’t beat around the bush. ‘Cheat Death‘ also sets the stage for the journey from death back to life on ‘The Ringing Bell‘. It was one of our simplest and most fun songs to write.”

  • Hellfest NJ Switches Venues Once Again

    This year’s editon of the New Jersey Hellfest has been moved once again. The event will now take place at the Carteret Performing Arts and Events Center on July 3-5.

    The following statement was issued:

    “HELLFEST 2026 will now be held at The Performing Arts Center in Carteret, New Jersey.

    The planning process for this installment of Hellfest has been in effect for upwards of 18 months. Over the last several weeks, it has become increasingly clear that Hellfest would not be able to move forward in either of our previously announced venues. Despite months of working through the necessary planning and permitting processes, we ultimately have reached a point where circumstances outside of our control have made it apparent that operating this festival could not proceed as intended.

    Simply put, we were left with two choices: relocate or cancel. Cancellation was never an option we were willing to accept, so we once again began searching for a solution that would allow us to move forward.

    Thankfully, we believe we have found exactly that at The Performing Arts Center in Carteret.

    Not only will Hellfest once again be held indoors, but the new venue offers several significant improvements for everyone including air conditioning, a parking garage across the street, easier access to public transportation, and a more convenient location for those traveling through Newark Airport.

    The venue has also agreed to allow re-entry and there will be no barricade. If you’re looking for a break from the action, the downstairs bar and restaurant areas will be hosting FIFA watch parties during the weekend completely free. There will also be plenty of food options including vegetarian and vegan located on the premises, as well as water fountains around the venue.

    Most importantly, Hellfest 2026 is happening. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support through these challenges, and we look forward to seeing all of you in Carteret on Friday, July 3rd.

    We weren’t able to tour the U.S. properly on the last two records, so it’s going to be great to get back to some of those territories we missed.

    We’re going to mix it up and try to play songs from across the catalog — this is going to be fun for us!”

    Vocalist/guitarist Johannes Persson commented:

    “Stagnation is the only thing that scares me. I’ve said this in every interview I’ve done for the past 25 years: I don’t care whether or not people think we’re repeating ourselves. As long as we feel like we aren’t, we will continue to do this.

    We all have our history, we all have our baggage. Everything that you’ve gone through leads you to where you are right now. It’s a boring cliché, but it’s true. There were certain things that I thought I’d left behind, and certain events during the last couple of years have brought them back. When you put the lid on things for decades, it’s interesting to see how they come back. This parasite is back again.””

    He also added the following about working with Duplantier and Edwards:

    “What I like about Joe is that he has a very particular voice. I think it’s one of the reasons why Gojira stand out as the metal giants that they are. It has its own unique character and would stand out even if you put him next to a hundred or a thousand other vocalists.

    David has been a huge influence for years. I’ve been a huge fan of 16 Horsepower, his solo projects and Wovenhand for decades. His voice fits perfectly on the song and it carries the subject matter with conviction.”

  • Sicksense Premiere “Artificial Irrelevance” Music Video

    Sicksense have premiered a new video for their new song “Artificial Irrelevance.” You can check that out below. The track will appear on the band’s new EP, “Funerals,” which will be released on September 25.

    Vocalist Robby J. Fonts (ex-Stuck Mojo) had the following to say about the new single:

    “It’s a social commentary on modern internet culture. The song points out the phoniness of people’s online personas. They present themselves one way, when in reality they live and act differently. They become addicted to being someone they aren’t and obsessed with superficial numbers from the engagement they receive online.

    Musically, from the very beginning when we started working (on our previous album) with our producer, Joey Doherty, he really wanted to take what we are as Sicksense and push us and our sound to the next level.

    I definitely feel this is a step in that direction, hinting at more of what we are capable of doing as artists.”

    Vocalist Vicky Psarakis (ex-The Agonist) added:

    “How much social media has altered people’s lives isn’t anything new. We’re all addicted to our phones, stuck constantly doom scrolling and searching for dopamine hits and validation from the internet space.

    What is relatively new however is the insane rise of AI content and ‘creators’ on these platforms, which is deeply disturbing when it comes to anything artistic. Musicians are seeing their work stolen. We keep getting fed reels that are 100% fake and it’s a big issue that AI has gotten so hard to distinguish for most people. So not only are we living in a non-existent space, we’re also constantly second guessing if what we are looking at is even real. It’s a whole new layer of unsettling.

    For the music video of ‘Artificial Irrelevance,’ we wanted to make a mockery of the internet culture that exists today. We each created different and extravagant personas for ourselves and performed in ways that are completely unrealistic looking in one scene and then also filmed a full band performance at the Nile Underground venue in Mesa, AZ. At the end of the day, AI can’t do what we do in a live environment and music fans will always connect with bands that are the real deal and able to deliver that to you in person.”

  • End It’s Akil Godsey On Banana Man Controversy: “We’re A Hardcore Band. We Do Hardcore Things.”

    As previously reported, End It recently faced backlash after turning a Toronto, ON crowd on a man wearing a banana costume. Now, vocalist Akil Godsey has officially addressed the controversy.

    Godsey said the following:

    “The funniest thing to come out of all this is people telling me they were disappointed in me, when the first song I ever wrote for this band is called ‘Give Up‘, which is where I instruct people to walk into the woods to commit suicide. You’ve obviously not been listening to the band, and I don’t know what the fuck you thought was going on over here. We’re in a, we’re a hardcore band. We do hardcore things. You don’t have to come over here. You don’t have to pay attention to me at fucking all.

    Everyone in my life loves me very much. I’m very well taken care of. I do not need your attention or validation. I’ll be just fine. Hey, if the band got to quit, so be it. I guess I’ll go to work. I’m a fully functioning adult male. I’ll be just fine. There’s more to life than whatever the fuck you think is going on over here. You don’t even know what’s going on over here. We haven’t spoken in ages. You’re living off of assumptions. Don’t assume, my parents taught me that. But have fun with the life you’ve made for yourself.”

    He also added:

    “Thanks for the racism and death threats and dissertations. It’s all been very taxing. I’m gonna go raise my child now. Peace.”
