Melvins Premiere “Don’t Forget To Breathe” Video

Melvins have premiered a new video for their new song “Don’t Forget To Breathe.” The clip was directed by Ava Hazelmyer, and the track appears on the band’s new album “Pinkus Abortion Technician,“ which was released today (April 20). That effort features two bassists including Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers) and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!).

Buzz Osborne commented:

“We’re very excited to have a video for our song ‘Don’t Forget To Breathe’, directed by the hyper-talented Ava Hazelmyer. Hopefully, there will be more collaborations with her in the future. We can’t wait for people to hear ‘Pinkus Abortion Technician’ and for them to see both of these killer bassists on our upcoming tours!”

Hazelmyer added:

“I like to make scenes devoid of context or overt meaning. I like taking everyday things and dropping them into an absurd setting. I like the idea of something being experienced without any preconceived notions or connections.”

Melvins Premiere “Embrace The Rub” Video

Melvins have premiered a new video for their new song “Embrace The Rub.” The clip was directed by Buzz Osborne’s wife Mackie Osborne, and the track will appear on their new album “Pinkus Abortion Technician“ (out April 20). That effort will feature two bassists including Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers) and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!). Dale Crover commented:

“‘Embrace The Rub‘ is a Steven McDonald penned, punker tune throwback to his days as a young Hawthorne, CA punk hanging out with Black Flag. For some reason, I decided that this tune really needed a piano part.”

Melvins Reveal Details For New Album “Pinkus Abortion Technician”, Announce 2018 Tour

Melvins have announced that their new album “Pinkus Abortion Technician“ will be released on April 20. That effort will feature two bassists including Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers) and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!).

“Pinkus Abortion Technician” Track Listing:

01. “Stop Moving To Florida” (medley of James Gang‘s “Stop” and Butthole Surfers‘ “Moving To Florida“)
02. “Embrace The Rub”
03. “Don’t Forget To Breathe”
04. “Flamboyant Duck”
05. “Break Bread”
06. “I Want To Hold Your Hand” (The Beatles cover)
07. “Prenup Butter”
08. “Graveyard” (Butthole Surfers cover)

Drummer Dale Crover commented:

“With our upcoming release, we double your bass player with Steven McDonald AND Jeff Pinkus holding down the bottom. It’s an experiment in the low end of the aural spectrum where we asked ourselves, ‘would it work?’ ‘could it work??’ ‘should it work???’ The answers were yes, yes and YES!”

Frontman/guitarist Buzz Osborne added:

“We’ve never had two bass players. We’ve had two drummers and two guitar players so it makes total sense to now have two bass players. We’ll be taking this two-prong bass attack on the road as well which should prove to be interesting. ‘Pinkus Abortion Technician‘ is a radically great record and was a stone groove to record. We drank a lot of coffee and enjoyed each other’s company. I like Steven and Jeff a great deal. I admire their bass playing and singing and both of them can grill a mean steak.”
