Dub Trio Post Preview For New Album “The Shape Of Dub To Come”

Dub Trio have posted a preview for their new album “The Shape Of Dub To Come.” That effort will be released on April 26 and it will feature a few guests including Melvins’ Buzz Osborne, who guested on the recently released song “World Of Inconvenience,” Mastodon’s Troy Sanders, who guested on “Fought The Line,” and Meshell Ndegeocello, who guested on “Forget My Name.“

Dub Trio Premiere New Video For “World Of Inconvenience” Feat. Buzz Osborne (Melvins)

Dub Trio have premiered a new video for their new song “World Of Inconvenience.” This track features Buzz Osborne (Melvins) and it will appear on the band’s new album “The Shape Of Dub To Come” (out April 26). That effort will also feature Mastodon’s Troy Sanders on a song called “Fought The Line” and Meshell Ndegeocello on a song called. “Forget My Name.“

Bassist Stu Brooks said the following about collaborating with Osborne:

“We are an instrumental band. We’ve only ever had one guest on our albums, Mike Patton. ‘World Of Inconvenience‘ was going to live on the album as an instrumental but the sludge metal riff was screaming for Buzz. So as a last minute add, we reached out to him. He took the instrumental to his studio in L.A. and we gave him total creative freedom. The lyrics are like a puzzle or a code that can’t be cracked in just one listen.”

He also discussed the new album title:

“We were a dub/reggae band, and we started implementing what we thought was cool from Refused and bands like that. ‘The Shape Of Dub To Come‘ describes our whole method; applying dub as a process to virtually any style of music. The future of dub doesn’t have to be just reggae. It’s a process rather than a genre.”

Sebastian Bach Shares His Thoughts On Tool’s New Music

Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row) and Buzz Osborne (Melvins) were the latest musicians that got to listen to Tool‘s new music. According to Bach, the material “is progressive metal at its most atmospheric.”

Here’s Bach’s full statement:

“How lucky am I? Spent yesterday getting my face melted by 3/4 of TOOL at the TOOL headquarters / rehearsal Studio. My very own private Tool show just missing the vocals! This is not just your average simple rock and roll music. This is progressive metal at its most atmospheric and right when you get into a groovy trance you get beat over the head with riffs so heavy it feels like a TOOL.

Some tunes were so pummelling it felt like I was getting a deep tissue massage! in fact they could call the record that. No song was shorter than 7 minutes and some were 20 minutes long! Just my idea of how to spend the perfect day! Thank you so much to my great friend Adam Jones and Justin Chancellor on bass for your hospitality! Danny Carey you are one of the most talented drummers I have ever seen in my life and such a nice fun dude!

You are all inspirations to me & thank you so much for the great preview! I can only Imagine what the Majestic vocals of Maynard James Keenan would sound like on top of this music. If it’s as delicious as his wine is, then I am buying this record for sure! 🎛🔈🍷cheers guys ! It was also great to see Buzz Osbourne the guitar player for The Melvins, who I last saw backstage in Seattle (I think) when we were drinking beers with Chris Cornell decades ago. Always good to see someone still doing great so many years down the line! #Melvins #Tool #MathRock #Rehearsal #rock #survivors”
